Notebooks and textbooks remain stored in lockers for the next day. Because of a desades-long practice of promoting failing students, some teens know they will advance to the next grade even if they don’t do the homework. Meanwhile, teachers say they are faced with the daily dilemma of whether to move ahead in a lesson when often only five or ten students out of around 30 have done the homework assignment. Very few kids do homework, and those who do it, cheat. Said a ninth English teacher, It is hard to base a lesson on homework if the work isn’t being done.【篇三】 Many years ago, when students went home after school, they had less time to play, because the teachers gave them a lot of homework. I remembered at that time, my sister worked so hard to finish the homework, she wrote it quickly when she arrived home. After supper, she continued to finish her homework. I felt she worked too hard, she deserved to have some time to play, but she didn’t. Not long after that time, the government had made some reform, the students don’t have to burden so much homework, they can have time to play. Now students can enjoy playing games with friends after school, I think play and study should be contained.。

一些关于家庭作业和睡眠的英语作文

一些关于家庭作业和睡眠的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Homework and Sleep - A Big Deal for Little KidsHey there! My name is Tommy and I'm in the 4th grade. I've got to be honest, being a kid isn't all fun and games. Sure, we get recesses, summer vacations, and basically no bills to pay. But there's also a ton of stuff us little people have to deal with that keeps life pretty busy. Two of the biggest things on my mind a lot of the time? Homework and sleep!Homework - The Endless BattleI'm sure all you grown-ups remember what it was like when you were kids and had piles of homework. Well, not much has changed! Us students today get loaded down with so much homework, it's enough to make your head spin. Between math worksheets, spelling practice, reading logs, and the occasional big project, there's always something to be working on.Don't get me wrong, I know homework is important for helping us learn and get better at different subjects. But wow, can it be overwhelming at times! Somedays I feel like as soon as Iget home from school and have a snack, I'm plunging right into the homework grind for hours. My backpack feels like it weighs a ton with all the books and papers I have to lug around.I've got to give a shoutout to my parents though. They are usually really good about helping me try to get my homework done right after school so I can have free time later. My dad especially is a huge help when it comes to math, which is NOT my strong suit. I don't know what I'd do without them supporting me and encouraging me, even when I'm feeling frustrated or don't want to do assignments. Kudos to all the parents out there burning the midnight oil with their kids on homework!Of course, homework struggles lead right into another major issue us kids face...Sleep - The Neverending BattleSleep is one of those things that seems so simple, but is actually really hard to get right a lot of the time. Between homework, sports, activities, and the classic case of "just one more show!" before bed, getting enough sleep is a constant challenge. I'd be lying if I said I've never stayed up way later than I should have.Even though I'm getting older, I still need around 9-10 hours of sleep each night to be my best. But that hardly ever happens! Whether it's a couple of nights with only 6 or 7 hours due to homework, or sleeping in on the weekends to catch up, my sleep schedule is all over the place. My parents are always preaching about the importance of "sleep hygiene" and trying to go to bed around the same time each night, but it's so tough. You know what the worst part is? When I don't get enough sleep, I pay for it big time the next day. I'm zoned out in class, struggling to focus, and just feel like a zombie mom or dad trying to power through the day. Those late homework nights ultimately make it harder for me to perform my best at school, which is supposed to be the whole point! It's just a vicious cycle that I know tons of other kids get stuck in too. We're overloaded with homework, which eats into our sleep schedule, which leaves us tired and unable to put full energy into school/homework the next day. Rinse and repeat! I've got to work on breaking that bad pattern. Some Advice for Parents (and Kids)So what's the solution for getting on top of the homework/sleep difficulties? Well, from this 4th grader's perspective, I've got a few pieces of advice that could help:For parents:Set a schedule/routine and stick to it as much as possible for homework time, winding down, and lights out. Kids thrive on structure!Work WITH your kid to make a homework plan and strategy, don't just bark orders. We'll buy in more if we're part of the process.Build in rewards or incentives for getting homework done and going to bed on time. Positive reinforcement works wonders!Set a good example yourself by putting downphones/devices and keeping your own sleep schedule consistent.Be patient, supportive, and remember that school is new and tough for us at this age. We need your guidance. For kids:Recognize that homework and sleep are priorities, not optional things to procrastinate on. The sooner you get it done, the sooner you can play!Find ways to make homework time a little fun - listen to music, snack while you work, set a timer to "beat" to stay motivated.Put away devices and screens at least an hour before bedtime so you can wind down properly.Make your sleep space comfy and cozy for your best night's rest.Don't be afraid to ask your parents or teachers for help if you're struggling. They want you to succeed! At the end of the day, I think homework and sleep are two of the biggest keys for us kids to unlock our full potential. With some hard work and good habits, we can conquer the endless cycle of assignments and exhaustion. Okay, now it's time for me to actually go do my homework before my mom starts nagging me again. Thanks for reading, grown-ups!篇2Homework and Sleep - A Tough Balancing ActI'm just a kid, but I've got a lot on my plate with school, homework, activities, and trying to get enough sleep. Homework is definitely one of the biggest challenges I face on a daily basis. It's tough to balance getting all my assignments done with having time for fun, family, and most importantly, getting enough zzzs.I have homework pretty much every night from several different classes. There's always math homework like pages of practice problems. Sometimes it's simple addition and subtraction, but other times it's tackling multi-step word problems that make my brain hurt. I have to read chapters from boring textbooks for my history and science classes too. At least for English class the assignments are a bit more fun when we get creative writing prompts. Some teachers ARE considerate and only give a small amount of homework. But then there are those other teachers who pile it on every single night. I've got one teacher who loves assigning huge book report projects on top of the regular homework. With all the different assignments, some nights I have what feels like endless piles of homework on my desk. It's so overwhelming at times that I don't even know where to start.Whenever I get stressed about my mounds of homework, my parents always tell me "You just have to learn to manage your time better!" Easier said than done if you ask me. I try my best to come home from school and get started on myhomework right away. But then friends will call wanting to play outside or there's a baseball game on TV that I really want to watch. The hardest part is just sitting down and forcing myself to start on those assignments instead of getting distracted.Even when I do knuckle down and work really hard, the homework still takes me forever to complete. I'm not a super slow worker, but all those pages of math problems and reading assignments just take a long time, you know? Sometimes I'll be zoning out after staring at a textbook for too long. My parents have to keep giving me snack breaks to re-energize.I really wish we didn't get assigned homework over the breaks and holidays too. Those are supposed to be times to relax and recharge, but sometimes I have just as much homework as a regular week. It's like teachers think since we're not in school those days that we must have unlimited free time at home to do homework. Little do they know about all the fun activities, sports practices, family trips and other plans that fill up our vacation days.Once I've finally fought through all my homework for the night, it's usually pretty late in the evening. My parents start bugging me, "You need to get to bed and get some sleep for school tomorrow!" I try to explain that I had so much homeworkthat it took forever to finish. Their response is always, "Well, you should have started earlier and managed your time better."I know sleep is super important for a kid's health, focus at school, and overall well-being. My body and brain desperately need those 9-11 hours per night according to doctors. But with so much homework each evening, that recommended sleep schedule is virtually impossible. I'm always sacrificing sleep in order to complete all my assignments. There have been too many nights when I've stayed up ridiculous hours like 11pm or midnight still hunched over my desk working on homework. After forcing my tired, blurry eyes to focus on worksheets that late, I'm a total zombie the next day at school. I'll be falling asleep at my desk unable to concentrate on what the teacher is saying. Forget about having any energy for gym class or afterschool activities on those sleep-deprived days.I really wish my teachers understood how excessive homework robs me of the precious sleep I need as a kid. Maybe if they had to sign a permission slip from my parents in order to assign more than 1 hour of homework per night, they'd think twice before piling it on so heavily. That's a policy I should recommend to the school principal! Or maybe we could getdoctors to write notes for teachers about the importance of kids getting enough sleep. At the very least, teachers could spread out bigger assignments more instead of having them all due around the same time. That would really help balance out the workload. Having homework-free weekends would be cool too so we could get a break and catch up on sleep. I also think elementary school kids shouldn't get homework over any school breaks. We need that downtime to recharge our batteries, not spend all day and night on homework.I know that homework is an important way for me to practice what I've learned in school. It helps reinforce those concepts and teachers can see what we're struggling with. I get that doing homework also builds responsibility and time management skills. I'm not saying homework should be eliminated entirely. But there has to be a healthier balance, you know? I just want to get enough shut-eye each night, wake up feeling refreshed, and be able to have fun and enjoy my childhood too! For now though, the constant battle of homework vs. sleep is certainly a real struggle us kids face daily.篇3Homework and Getting Enough SleepI'm just a kid, but I've learned that homework and getting enough sleep are really important. Honestly, there are days when I don't feel like doing my homework at all. After being at school for so many hours, the last thing I want to do is more work! I'd much rather play video games or hang out with my friends. Homework can be boring and difficult sometimes. However, my parents are always reminding me how homework helps me practice what I've learned in class and develop good study habits. They say the more I practice, the better I'll understand the material, and the easier it will be to master new concepts when they are introduced. I have to admit, they're probably right about that.I've noticed that when I put in the effort on my homework assignments, I tend to do better on tests and quizzes. The repetition helps the information stick in my brain. It's kind of like when I was first learning to play soccer - the more I practiced dribbling and passing, the better I got at it. I guess homework is a way to exercise your brain muscles! That said, homework can be a real drag sometimes, especially when I have a huge pile of it. I'll be honest, I often leave it until the last minute and then have to rush to get it alldone before bedtime. That's when things get really stressful. I'm usually fighting to stay awake and concentrate as I try to power through the assignments. My mom says that's a bad idea because when I'm overtired, I don't absorb information as well and I make more careless mistakes.Speaking of being overtired, that's another major issue I struggle with - getting enough sleep. I really love my sleep, but between school, homework, sports, and just being an energetic kid, it's hard to get the recommended 9-11 hours that I need at my age. When I don't get enough sleep, I feel grumpy, have trouble focusing in class, and generally just feel run down. Staying up late isn't much fun either because I'm exhausted and cranky. Sometimes I'll nod off while trying to do my homework, which obviously doesn't help me get it done faster! My parents have implemented a strict bedtime to make sure I get enough rest. I'll be the first to admit that I often protest and beg to stay up later. In the moment, I think I'll be fine with less sleep. But then I pay for it the next day by being tired and struggling to pay attention. My doctor says lack of sleep can even start to affect kids' growth and development over time. No thanks! So as much as I may resist it sometimes, I know homework and getting enough sleep are crucially important, especially as a student. I'm sure I'll appreciate building those habits now when I'm older. My parents like to say that "an investment in knowledge pays the best interest." I may only be 10 years old, but I'm pretty sure that homework, combined with a good night's rest, is an investment that will keep paying me back. For now though, it's just a constant battle to fit it all in - school, homework, activities, AND getting enough z's. My brain is like a computer that needs to be recharged each night and homework is like updating my software. No matter how tedious it may feel, I know I have to power through. Hopefully, someday I'll look back and be grateful for building such diligent study habits and stamina.Until then, I'll keep chugging away at my homework amidst a chorus of yawns! Maybe mom and dad will let me pull anall-nighter when I'm a little older. Just kidding...I think.。
