They never told Harry that his parents were wizards and that he's a wizard too. At Hogwarts, Harry makes two great friends named Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Together they go on the most incredible adventures!At Hogwarts, the kids take classes to learn charms, transfiguration, herbology, potions and more. The professors are wizards too and some of them are pretty wacky. Like Professor Snape who is a little scary and mean. But others are really cool like Professor Dumbledore who is the headmaster. So Harry, Ron and Hermione soon find out that someone is trying to steal a powerful magical object called the Sorcerer's Stone that's being hidden at Hogwarts. They have to figure out who is after the Stone and how to stop them. Along the way, they have to get through all kinds of obstacles and challenges that test their courage, intelligence and loyalty to each other as friends.Like at one point, they have to get past a huge three-headed dog named Fluffy! I'm not kidding, this beast is terrifying. And then they have to play a life-size game of wizard's chess wherethe pieces smash each other when they get captured. So intense! There's also an evil spirit called Voldemort who was a powerful dark wizard. He's after the Stone too and wants to use it to become immortal and impossible to destroy. Not cool!Without giving too much away, let's just say that Harry, Ron and Hermione go through a crazy finale where they have to really out-smart and out-brave the adults. Even though they're just kids, they show how powerful friendship can be when you really believe in each other. By working together, they manage to pull off the impossible!There's so much more I could say about this book but I don't want to ruin all the surprises. Just know that Harry Potter has everything - magic, adventure, scary villains, high stakes, awesome friendships, heroic acts and lots of humor too. Smart Hermione kicks butt with her booksmarts. Even the brainy Luna Lovegood is a hoot. And there are complex characters like Severus Snape where you're never quite sure if they're friend or foe til the end.I also really look up to Harry, Ron, and Hermione's strong friendship. Even when they have disagreements, they always have each other's backs. There are powerful messages about love, friendship, courage, and doing what's right. These books don't shy away from heavier topics like death, loss, discrimination, and tyranny too. But they show how powerful things like friendship and hope can be against the dark forces.Honestly, words can't fully describe how much I adore the Harry Potter world. That's why I've read each 600+ page book like five times already! I have my own wand, I'm a Gryffindor on Pottermore, and my bedroom is totally decked out with Harry Potter posters and merchandise. For my 10th birthday, we had a huge Harry Potter-themed party too. Safe to say I'm OBSESSED!So yeah, if you haven't read Harry Potter yet, you are totally missing out! These books are pure magic from cover to cover. They've gotten me through some tough times and hard days. I feel like Harry, Ron, and Hermione are like family to me at this point too. On Harry's 11th birthday, he finds out that he's a wizard too and gets invited to attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. How cool is that?At Hogwarts, Harry makes two best friends named Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron comes from a big wizard family and Hermione is a super smart muggle-born witch, which means her parents aren't magical. The three of them go on so many awesome adventures together!They have to deal with all kinds of crazy stuff at Hogwarts. There are moving staircases, talking paintings, ghosts floating around, and giant feasts with the most delicious food. The classes sound really neat too, like Potions, Transfiguration, Herbology, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I would love to learn magic!But it's not all fun and games. Harry has to watch out for Voldemort and his evil Death Eater followers who are always trying to get him. There are dangerous monsters too, like giant spiders, a basilisk snake, and dementors that try to suck out your soul. So scary! Luckily, Harry is a super brave and talented wizard.My favorite character is definitely Harry because he never gives up no matter what. But I also really like Ron because he's funny and loyal. And Hermione is awesome too - she's a geniusand always there to help her friends out of trouble. The teachers like Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid are great as well.The books just keep getting better and better as the story goes on. Harry has to deal with all kinds of difficult challenges, but he grows up to be an amazing wizard. There's magic, adventure, danger, friendship, and even a little romance as they get older. It's just the perfect mix of everything!If you haven't read the Harry Potter books yet, you are seriously missing out. They are easy to read but super engaging page-turners. I couldn't put them down!
