From the fastest marathon time to the tallest building, world records represent the pinnacle of human achievement. As someone who is fascinated by the incredible feats that people are capable of, I have spent a great deal of time researching and learning about various world records.One of the most impressive world records that I have come across is the longest non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft. This record was set by Singapore Airlines in 2018, when one of their Airbus A350-900ULR planes flew from Singapore to Newark, New Jersey without stopping. Theflight covered a distance of 9,534 miles and lasted a total of 17 hours and 25 minutes. To put this achievement into perspective, imagine sitting in a cramped airplane seat forover 17 hours without ever getting up or stretching your legs. It's an incredible feat of endurance and engineering.Another world record that I find particularlyfascinating is the fastest time to solve a Rubik's Cube. This record is constantly being broken and improved upon, but as of 2021, the current record is held by Yusheng Du of China, who solved a 3x3 Rubik's Cube in just 3.47 seconds. To put this into perspective, the average person takes several minutes (if not hours) to solve a Rubik's Cube, and even experienced solvers typically take at least 10-20 seconds. The topic of our speech today is The Guinness World Records .Now , let’s enjoy a piece of video related to all kinds of word records and havd a brief understanding .OK！Having watched the video ,please allow us to give you more specific introduction .The Guinness World Records is the most authority(权威的) one of the world，and its records are the most comprehensive （全面的）。
Firstly , let’s have a glimpse of its history . In 1951 , sir Hugh Beaver , then the managing director of the Guinness Brewery , went on a shooting party and became involved in a argument which was the fastest game bird in Europe ? The golden plover or the grouse ? He realized then that a book supplying the answers to this sort of questions might prove popular . He was right ! Sir. Hugh’s idea became reality when Norris and Ross Mcwhirter , who had been running a fact-finding agency in London ,were commissioned to compile what became The Guinness of Records . The first was bound on August 27 ,1955 and went to the top of the British the best-seller lists by Chirstmas that year .Since then , Guinness world Records has become a household name and the global leader records .
