TEM-8作文讲座By 李晶晶钱斌梁整理英语专业八级的作文和其他应试考试的作文一样，都是以三段式的写法为最佳，即包含：一、开头；二、中间段；三、结尾。
此次讲座实际上将分为五个部分讲解：1.题目、题干以及要求；2.开头的写法3.中间段的组织构思4.结尾的架构5.其它注意事项以下为讲座的主干内容。
1.题目、题干以及要求拿到题目后，首先要对题目进行I.有效的回应（即Task Response）：题目是什么？需要对题目的哪个部分进行回应（要我们提出观点？提出措施？还是别的什么？）？这里先以此次期末考试的作文题目为例：（1）Should Governments Launch Serious Campaigns Against Smoking?题目是以一般疑问句的形式出现的，需要我们在首段和末尾出现Yes / No的回应——换句话说，针对这次的写作，我们需要对题目最后的问号（“?”）表态、提出观点（Why governments should / should not launch serious campaigns against smoking?）。
切忌为你的观点提出措施，不然写出的文章就偏题了（Off-Focus）。
专八考试的作文也会以特殊疑问句的形式出现，例如：（2）What Can You Get in Your College Life?与前一个作文题目相比，相同点是“都需要对句末的问号（‘?’）给予回应”，不同点则是“后者需要对句末的问号（‘?’）进行全面的回答，而不是简单的是非判断。
所以这篇文章一旦写不好，就更容易偏题。
确定了题目之后，其次就要考虑II.一致性（Coherence）、III.衔接（Cohesion）和IV.语法及词汇的选用（Grammar and V ocabulary）。
下面会对这三个方面进行简要阐述：II.一致性（Coherence）一致性包含两个方面：1）段落组织的一致性和2）段落内部逻辑的一致性。
段落组织的一致性是指每段的分论点要呼应你摆出的论点——也就是说，这些分论点如果综合在一起，题目末尾的问号就一定能够得到回应；而段落内部逻辑的一致性则是指段落内部（即分段落的每句句子）必须证明各个分论点。
为把一致性问题说明清楚，这里我们还是以例（2）的题目作为研究对象。
针对What Can You Get in Your College Life，我们不妨以“在知识与个人品质两方面得到很大提升”作为总论点，那么毫无疑问分论点就是“在知识上得到很大提升”和“在个人品质上得到很大提升”了。
那么又如何对这两个分论点进行证明呢？这里可以采用分类的方法，比如“知识”方面就可以分成“专业知识”、“如何与人相处”等等；而“个人品质”方面也可以依样画葫芦。
III.衔接（Cohesion）衔接一般用于结构调整，作用是让文章表述得更流畅。
由此可见，它更多地服务于段落内部逻辑的一致性。
衔接通常是以连词的形势表现出来的，而由于句子与句子之间关系的不同，我们可以将连词作一个分类：①并列关系②转折关系③递进关系④补充说明⑤因果关系⑥对比、比较关系（这几对逻辑关系请大家自行下载，并背熟，它们是作文中间段的逻辑关系）其中需要说明的有：并列关系中firstly、secondly之类的不推荐使用；补充说明与因果关系牵涉到的连词有重合；对比、比较关系中besides、also之流不推荐使用；but、because等不要放在句首，这也是在大三翻译课上反复强调的内容，因为这样表达不正式，而专八的文章是提倡正式规范的——这样更能反映考生的水平。
以上说到尽量不要使用的连词，如果放在句子当中，会使段落的表现效果变差，所以切记。
IV.语法及词汇的选用（Grammar and V ocabulary）这一方面其实无需赘述，完全依靠平时的积累。
专八考试是大学四年学习成果的考验，反映了学生对此宝贵四年的珍惜程度。
2.开头的写法开头一般控制在五句左右，推荐以从大往小写的写法（Funnel）为佳。
所谓“百川东到海”，文章开头逆序的五句话却容易把文章变得容易、写得漂亮。
针对文章的开头阶段，个人不推荐在这里使用集思广益的“头脑风暴”（brainstorming）（当然条条大路通罗马，只要自己觉得更适合，未雨绸缪式的规划草案也未尝不可），因为首段的任务是摆出总论点、过渡到分论点，一旦开头写得好、写得顺，那整篇文章就基本不在话下了；然而如果在短短的45分钟内，光第一段就花了10来分钟，那么之后的35分钟会非常难熬。
大体上来说，起首的五句的安排理当是：提供背景（1）—对背景补充说明（2）—将背景与今天的话题相联系（3）—过渡（4）—亮出观点（5）。
论点句的位置很少变动，因为这种安排能展开之后几段的分论点。
以“What Do You Get in Your College Life”为例，我们可以对“college life”这个关键词进行处理。
对应这个关键词，什么词比它范围更大？对，是“life”。
人的一生有什么？快乐和杯具（1）。
每个人是否都在这快乐和悲剧中渡过呢？是的（2）。
“college life”是否为“life”的一部分？是，于是悲欢离合也能见之于“college life”（3）。
无论是“悲”还是“欢”，这四年无疑是最重要的四年是不是？未必是，但是这里写“是”也肯定不会错（4）。
那么为什么这四年对你来说那么重要呢？因为在这四年里我在某方面与某方面得到了提升……（5）。
我们借“college life”放至一个更大的整体（“life”），从而使后面的分论点铺垫得水到渠成，如此就完成了首段该完成的任务。
对于文章要求中出现advantages and disadvantages 字眼的作文题目，大家可以结合Funnel与逆转一起进行开头段的展开。
什么是逆转呢？就是中文的欲扬先抑或者欲抑先扬，也就是大家需要先进行上述的funnel写法，过渡时候则出现although ...,这样的句型，从而过渡到整篇观点。
我们另选一个题目为例：（3）What Do You Think Of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Information Technology?很明显，题目中的“Information Technology”为我们提供了背景，那么毫无疑问，我们采取逆序法从这个关键词下手。
这里以“好大于坏”的角度来解读。
21世纪人类最伟大的发展是什么？科技。
科技给人带来什么样翻天覆地的变化？给人类带来前所未有的物质享受。
信息技术作为其中最重要的发现之一，它对人们工作与学习带来哪些影响？我们不可否认，信息科技在给人们带来好处的同时，(although)也产生了诸多弊端（举例阐述，比如对年轻人不利的心理成长、高科技犯罪等）；但即使如此，高科技依然对人类生活的进步功不可没（举例阐述，例如工作上带来哪些方便，学习上带来哪些好处等）。
下面就进入中间段的写作过程。
3.中间段的组织构思中间段分成二至三个段落，每段8句左右为最佳。
每段要以分论点开头，中间段需列提纲，反之亦然。
我们另选一个题目为例：（3）What Do You Think Of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Information Technology? 这里在结构上，一方面需要讲究逻辑性，另一方面切忌只谈好处或者只谈弊端，如此安排不仅能体现你思维的全面客观，也能让你的倾向显露无遗。
另外，在中间段的写作过程中，个人倒是要提倡使用brainstorming为每个分论点定好主题、造连接词。
有句话叫“Writing originates thoughts”（思想源于笔端），所以此时的brainstorming必不可少。
关于brainstorming，其实可以从两个角度出发：1）关键词；2）人。
关于前者，“方便”，“情感”，“经验”，“成就”，“效率”，“省钱”，“健康”，“安全”，“性格”，“乐趣”，“耐久”，“环保”；例如上面一道题目，信息技术的优劣势，大家就可以以上述关键字作文分论点下面支持的引子，引导自己在短时间内组织句子。
比如信息技术的好处，我们用效率这个关键字，那么就是说信息技术使得人们的工作和学习效率提高了，但是分论点不以这句直接摆在每段中间段首句，而是进一步推理，学习效率提高了使得同学们的知识更为广博了为中间段的分论点，而前面一句作为这一句的支撑句。
E.g. Information technology enables the students to acquire as much knowledge as possible in a short period of time, as students can simply apply information technology especially Internet in their learning process and thus greatly promote their efficiency in learning. 注意红色部分的顺序。
这是因为关键字是很普遍的，而根据关键字这个引子出来的推理因人而异，这就降低了同学们之间观点重合的可能性。
从“人”的角度上，可以从人的physical、mental、emotional、intellectual四个角度进行观点的生发。
还以上题为例。
信息技术的推广，对人的健康physical 是好处还是坏处？坏处，好处都有。
是什么？对于健康知识的普及有好处，长期在电脑前，对于人体健康不利；智力来说呢？有好处，能够扩大人们的知识面，使得人们能够知晓很多不知道的事情；情感来说呢？坏处，信息技术，人们不再进行面对面沟通交流，人们之间的疏远；精神层面来看呢？好处，坏处，都有，好处，丰富人们的精神生活；坏处，黄色暴力的传播。
等下根据这些观点安排段落内容就可以了。
对于中间段来说，更重要的则是段落内部的结构，段落内部的结构就是刚才那六对逻辑关系，它们是你们段落衔接的体现。
在列提纲时候，必须将连词一起列入提纲。
比如说E.g. What do you get in your college life?知识——专业知识人与人之间相处的知识（段落分论点无重要性次序，因此为并列关系，连词就用并列关系的，必须写明，on the one hand, on the other hand)4.结尾的架构结尾一般以4-5句话为宜，不能少于四句，不然有虎头蛇尾之感。
结尾是对前文的重新阐述（paraphrase），因此必须要出现信号词（“signal word”），信号词比如in conclusion, overall等。
