在本课教学设计中，团队在单元视角下进行了文本整合，围绕“How to Choo se”这一单元主题，采用5E教学模式，初探问题化教学，将信息技术与英语学科融合，培养学生对比分析的能力、批判性思维与逻辑思维，努力践行英语学习活动观。
1、聚焦单元整合本课是外研社新标准（三年级起点）五年级下册第五模块的第二课时。
本课基于新课标和学情，对教材内容进行整合，不仅巧妙地为教材视频各种购买的商品增加了价格，拓展了文本的深度和广度，让学生学会从价格、尺寸、喜好等角度来为他人选择购买礼物，培养了学生的综合分析、逻辑表达等高阶思维；还巧妙地把本课的语音部分细化到本单元每个课时，让学生在情境中学习语音知识，避免了枯燥孤立的语音学习。
2、应用“5E”教学模式“5E”教学模式共分五步,这五步分别是吸引(engagement)、探究(exploratio n)、解释(explanation)、迁移(elaboration)和评价(evaluation)。
因为五个步骤的英文单词首字母都是“E”而得名。
在本课学习中，学生是学习行为的主体、是活动的中心，教师是指导者和帮助者的角色。
教师先通过提出与主题相关问题，吸引学生进入学习状态，然后循序渐进地引领学生探究，最后运用新知解决新的问题。
