She understood why Mrs. Weston asked her to sit down and got Lisa to fetch everything for her. It was always a disaster when Rachel tried to do Art!Rachel sighed and reached out to dip her brush in some black paint and—oh, no! She knocked over the jar. The water spread across the desk and drowned the paper. Lisa called Mrs. Weston to see what Rachel had done. Rachel went red in the face. She jumped to her feet to get a cloth. Her chair fell over backwards. She turned round and her paintbrush caught Lisa across the face, giving her a black moustache. Lisa was so surprised that she fell back against a wire bookstand. It came crashing down and the books went all over the floor. How clumsy! Rachel thought as she went home on the bus. The bus stopped outside her house. She jumped up and her elbow (肘部) knocked a woman’s hat right over her eyes. Oh, no! Rachel said sorry, got off and ran indoors. Mum wasn’t in the kitchen but lay in bed as she caught an awful cold. Rachel offered to make a cup of tea but Mum would rather wait for Dad. Rachel sighed. She understood Mum was afraid she would spill (溅出) it.“But would you go to Mrs. Willow for some cold cure?” asked Mum. She opened the door and invited her in. Rachel said why she came and that she preferred to wait outside remembering her mother’s warning. Mrs. Willow insisted Rachel come inside. 2018年高考英语作文续写作文

2018年高考英语作文续写作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Great Adventure in the CityThat day started out just like any other day. I woke up early, had my usual breakfast of congee and drank a glass of warm soy milk. After getting dressed, I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door with my mom to walk to school. Little did I know, this ordinary day was about to become an extraordinary adventure! As we were walking down the street, I noticed a stray dog sniffing around some trash cans. I've always loved animals, so I wanted to go pet it. But before my mom could stop me, I ran over towards the dog. It must have gotten scared because it suddenly took off running down the alleyway. Without even thinking, I chased after it, calling out "Hey doggy, come back!"I followed the dog around a few corners until I couldn't see it anymore. That's when I realized I was totally lost! The buildings all looked unfamiliar and there weren't many people around. Istarted to feel a little scared being all alone in this strange place. Where was I? How would I find my way back home?I decided to keep walking, hoping to find someone who could help me. As I turned another corner, I was met with the most amazing sight - I had somehow ended up in the city center! The towering skyscrapers seemed to stretch up and touch the clouds. Hundreds of people were rushing about, going here and there. Taxis, buses and cars zipped up and down the busy streets. The sounds of honking horns and construction work filled the air.I had never seen anything like this coming from my small town on the outskirts of the city.I just stood there in awe, spinning around trying to take it all in. That's when I noticed something even more incredible - a huge parade was getting ready to start! There were colorfully decorated floats, dancers in bright costumes, and a marching band assembled nearby. I couldn't believe my luck!Forgetting all about being lost, I pushed my way through the crowd to get a better view. The parade began with a burst of music from the marching band. Then the massive floats started inching forward, one by one. Each float was more dazzling than the last, with towering creations of paper maché, ribbons, andartificial flowers. The dancers leaped and twirled alongside with smiles as bright as their costumes. I was mesmerized! As the last float went by, I didn't want the magic to end. I started wandering again, taking in all the sights and sounds of the city. Everywhere I looked there was something new and fascinating. Sidewalk food vendors selling skewered squid and candied strawberries. Towering neon advertising boards flashing colorful animations. Old men playing chess and smoking pipes in the park. It was all so vibrant and alive! After exploring for what felt like hours, I suddenly heard my name being called. I turned around and saw my frantic mom running towards me. She pulled me into the tightest hug before scolding me for running off. As we started walking back home, I recounted all the amazing things I had seen. My mom just shook her head and said "Only you could get yourself into such an adventure!"On the way, we passed by a shop selling little souvenirs of the city. Using my allowance money that I had saved up, I bought a small ceramic model of one of the parade floats. Whenever I look at it, I'm reminded of the exciting day I got lost in the city and had the grandest adventure a kid could ever want. I know I'll have to go back someday and explore even more of thosetowering streets and bustling sidewalks. But for now, the tiny ceramic float sits on my nightstand, awaiting more journeys and tales still to come.篇2My Grandpa's Birthday SurpriseHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 8 years old. I'm going to tell you about a really exciting day I had with my grandpa not too long ago. It was his 70th birthday and my family wanted to do something really special for him.Grandpa is the best! He's super kind and always has interesting stories to tell about when he was young. He used to be a teacher and he taught me how to read and write before I even started school. Grandpa lives with us and we've always been really close. I love spending time with him.A few weeks before his birthday, my mom and dad asked me if I had any ideas for what we could do to celebrate grandpa turning 70. "It has to be something amazing!" my dad said. I really wanted to come up with the perfect idea to show grandpa how much we love and appreciate him.I thought about it a lot over the next few days. Grandpa's favorite food is dumplings, so I thought maybe we could take him to a fancy dumpling restaurant. But then I remembered that grandpa doesn't like going out too much anymore. He prefers being at home relaxing. Hmm...what else could we do?Then it hit me - grandpa is always talking about how much he loved going to the park when he was a kid! There's a big park not too far from our house with a beautiful lake. I could imagine grandpa playing there as a little boy, sailing toy boats across the water and flying kites up in the sky. That's it! We could have a amazing birthday picnic for grandpa at the park! He would love recreating those happy memories from his childhood.I excitedly told my parents my idea and they agreed it was perfect. My mom started planning all the delicious foods we would pack for the picnic - grandpa's favorite dumplings of course, but also Beijing yogurt drinks, fresh fruit, and grandma's famous egg tarts for dessert. Yum!My dad's job was to get all the fun activities and decorations together. He bought a remote control sailboat for the lake, badminton sets, frisbees, a kite in the shape of a dragon, and even croquet! Grandpa was going to be so surprised. We alsogot a big "Happy 70th Birthday!" banner and balloons to decorate our picnic area. Finally, the day of grandpa's birthday arrived! The weather was perfect - sunny with a nice breeze. As soon as grandpa woke up, we told him to get dressed because we had a super special day planned just for him. He raised his eyebrows in curiosity but didn't ask too many questions. When we arrived at the park, I could see grandpa's eyes light up with joy as he looked around at all the green trees, the glittering lake, and kids running around everywhere. This must have brought back so many happy memories of his own childhood! We set up our picnic area near the lake with the banner, balloons, and a cozy blanket on the grass. Grandpa just smiled hugely, not saying much but you could tell he was already loving his birthday celebration. After we ate the yummy picnic lunch, it was time for the fun activities to begin! First, my dad got out the remote control sailboat and let grandpa take the controls. He carefully sailed it all around the lake, narrating little stories of the toy sailboats he used to play with as a kid. Watching him have so much fun brought me a lot of happiness.Next up was badminton! Even though grandpa is 70 now, he could still smash the birdie over the net better than anyone. We had a mini tournament that ended in my mom declaring grandpa the "Badminton Champ of the Park!" She even made him an adorable medal out of aluminum foil. After badminton, we moved on to flying the dragon kite. This was a little tricky because there wasn't a lot of wind at first. But finally the kite caught an airstream and it soared up into the bright blue sky! Grandpa looked like a little kid again, his face filled with pure delight as he held the kite string tightly and ran around the field. I hope I can find that much joy in simple pleasures when I'm his age.As we were packing up to head home, grandpa pulled me aside and gave me a big meaningful hug. With happy tears in his eyes he said, "Xiaoming, tonight was the most wonderful and meaningful birthday I've ever had. Thank you for making an old man feel like a child again! I'll never forget this day."I just smiled and hugged him back tightly, feeling proud to have helped create such a special memory for my best friend - my grandpa. It was definitely one of the happiest days of my life so far and I'll always cherish it. I already can't wait to plan his 71st birthday celebration!I hope you enjoyed hearing about my grandpa's amazing 70th birthday. If you have grandparents, make sure to spend lots of quality time with them and create fun new memories together while you can. They'll appreciate it so much! Thanks for reading my story. Until next time!篇3My HometownI'm just a little kid, but I already know I'm from a really special place - my hometown of Dazhai Village in Guizhou Province. It's a tiny little village up in the mountains, but to me it's the whole world. My days start off pretty early, as soon as the rooster crows. I hop out of bed and get dressed quick so I can go outside and play before starting my chores. First light is my favorite time - the morning mist hangs low over the valley and the bird songs fill the crisp air. I take a deep breath and it smells green and fresh. The village lanes are already bustling with folks starting their days. I wave good morning to Old Wu as he heads out to tend his rice paddies. Mrs. Huang is sweeping the entrance to her little shop, getting ready to open up. I run over to the village square where some of my friends are kicking around a ragged soccerball. We kick it back and forth, laughing and shouting until our parents call us back for breakfast. My grandma makes the best congee! She stirs the thick rice porridge over the fire, adding little dried shrimp and you tiao breadsticks. The smell makes my tummy rumble. My baby sister bangs her bowl with her chopsticks - she's hungry too! After we all eat our fill, it's time to get to work.My chores for the day depend on what needs doing. Some days I'll help my dad in the fields, scaring away birds from the crops. Other days I'll go collect kindling and pine needles in the forest with my mom to stock up our fire for cooking and heating. In the fall it's all hands on deck to harvest the rice and vegetables.I don't mind though - hard work is just part of life in Dazhai. In my free time, there's always fun to be had exploring the mountain trails and streams near the village with my friends. We look for cool rocks, chase dragonflies, and build little dams in the creek. You have to watch out for the leeches though - those buggers leave a mean bite! At night we'll gather under the persimmon tree and trade ghost stories until our parents call us in.The persimmon tree is probably my favorite spot in the whole village. Its gnarled branches reach up to the sky, offeringcool shade to sit under. And oh man, when those persimmons are ripe they are so sweet and juicy! Of course, you have to fight off the hungry chickens too or they'll snatch up all the fallen fruit.I may be just a kid, but I really cherish my village and way of life here. It's not easy - we all have to pitch in and work hard. But we're one big family, looking out for each other. When the rice harvest is good, we celebrate together with songs and laughter. When times are lean, we share what little we have. That's just how it is in Dazhai.Everything I need is right here - fresh air to breathe, clean streams to play in, rice and vegetables to eat. As long as I can remember, my parents and grandparents have worked these lands with their hands. They passed down the old ways to me - how to plant by the lunar cycle, which herbs to use for medicine, the stories of our ancestors. One day I'll pass those down too when I'm grown.篇4Title: My Amazing Journey to the ZooHi everyone! I want to tell you about the most exciting adventure I had last summer. It all started when my familydecided to take me to the zoo. I was so happy and couldn't wait to see all the animals! We arrived at the zoo early in the morning. As soon as we entered, I saw a big sign that said "Welcome to the Zoo." It had pictures of lions, elephants, and monkeys. I felt like I was entering a magical world!First, we went to see the lions. They were so majestic and powerful. I watched them as they walked around their enclosure. It was amazing to see their golden fur and hear their loud roars. I wished I could be as brave as a lion!Next, we went to the elephant area. I couldn't believe how big they were! I saw a baby elephant playing in the water with its trunk. It was adorable! I learned that elephants are very intelligent and they use their trunks to eat, drink, and even hug each other. I wanted to give the baby elephant a hug too! After that, we visited the monkey house. The monkeys were swinging from tree to tree and making funny faces at us. I giggled as one monkey scratched its head and looked just like my silly uncle. Monkeys are so mischievous and playful! As we walked further, we saw giraffes with their long necks reaching up to the leaves on the trees. They were eatingbreakfast, and I found it fascinating how they didn't need a ladder to reach the leaves. I wished I could stretch my neck like a giraffe and see the world from up high! One of the highlights of the day was the penguin exhibit. I had never seen penguins before, and they were so cute! They waddled around and slid on their bellies. I wanted to join them and slide on the ice too. Penguins are such funny creatures! Finally, we reached the reptile house. Snakes, lizards, and turtles were everywhere. Although I found them a bit scary, I also found them fascinating. I learned that some snakes can swallow animals much bigger than their own heads. It made me glad that I wasn't a snake's dinner! As the day came to an end, I felt tired but happy. I had seen so many incredible animals and learned so much. The zoo is like a treasure trove of knowledge and wonder. I want to go back again and again!Visiting the zoo was an unforgettable experience for me. It made me appreciate the diversity of our animal friends and the importance of protecting them. I hope that one day I can do something to help animals too. Until then, I'll cherish the memories of my amazing journey to the zoo! That's all for now. Thank you for reading my adventure story.I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Bye-bye!篇5My Big DreamI remember that day like it was yesterday. I was sitting at my little desk in my tiny bedroom, the one with the Transformers bedsheets and glow-in-the-dark star stickers on the ceiling. My tongue was sticking out the side of my mouth as I concentrated really hard on the pencil in my hand. This was serious business!"What's your biggest dream?" the question read at the top of the paper. I had been thinking about it for days, ever since my teacher Miss Zhang assigned the essay topic. At first, I didn't really know what to write. Dreams are those things you have when you're sleeping, with talking animals and flying dolphins and whatnot. That couldn't be right. Then it hit me - she must be asking about the thing I want most in the whole world! The thing my heart beats fastest for, the thing that makes my eyes light up with excitement. My biggest dream...to become a famous chef! You see, I come from a family of amazing cooks. My grandma can whip up the most incredible dumplings you've ever tasted using secret century-old recipes. And my uncle owns that hot pot restaurant down the street that always has a line stretching around the block. Folks say he boils the spiciest, most flavorful broth in the entire province!Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved being in the kitchen. I still remember the first time my mom let me help her make zongzi for Dragon Boat Festival. I got to mix the sticky rice and filling, then delicately wrap and tie each one in bamboo leaves. We made a huge mess that day, but seeing the proud look on Mom's face when I presented my lumpy creation made the hard work worth it.From then on, I was hooked. Cooking felt like adulting - a new big kid responsibility that made me swell with pride and importance. Any chance I got, I was in our cramped kitchen cooking area, peering over the counter to watch the masters at work. Mom's stir-fries, Dad's noodle dishes, Grandma's steamed buns - I studied their every move like a hawk. Before long, I didn't just want to watch anymore. Armed with a plastic skewer doubling as a spatula, I'd insist on having a turn at the wok. Can you believe they actually let me? Those poor, poor parents - receiving scorched, unrecognizable foods and skidding across grease-slicked floors as payment for their trust. I'm sure those early years took a decade off their lives! But that's the great thing about cooking: the more you mess up, the more you learn. Every burnt fried rice and runny scrambled egg taught me something new. By the time I hit upper elementary school, my skills had progressed from disastrous to distinctly amateur. Following recipes to a tee, I began whipping up simple classics for my family: zhajiangmian, liangbanbumian, even xiaolongbao from scratch! They weren't restaurant quality by any means, but the compliments and empty plates were thanks enough. Those little successes ignited a fire inside me that'll never go out. More than just a silly childhood hobby, cooking became my obsession, my calling. I realized that my biggest dream wasn't to become a famous CHEF necessarily, but to master the culinary arts themselves. To one day create dishes so celestially delicious they literally make people's eyes roll back in their heads. To open a world-class restaurant where the luckiest diners scorefront-row seats to a masterpiece being constructed bite by bite. Maybe then to launch an empire of can't-miss cookbooks, TVshows, and cooking tours that spread my passion across the globe!I know, I know - it sounds crazy coming from the mouth of a 10-year-old bun. Adult dreams for adult dreamers, right? But I'm more determined than any of my bemused parents and teachers can fathom. This isn't just a passing interest or flight of fancy. It's an all-consuming ardor that'll stay with me long after other kids' temporary childhood obsessions fizzle out.Which is why, when that big essay assignment came, I didn't need to think twice before bending my pencil to the paper. The graphite words virtually leapt from the tip: "My biggest dream is to become a legendary chef and spread the gospel of great cooking to every corner of the world!"No matter what though, the underlying dream remains: to treat food as my life's magnum opus. To dazzle people with edible performance art. To orchestrate flavors so sublime they make your eyes roll back into the depths of your skull. People think I'm being overdramatic for a kid, but just wait until you try the pork belly I've got crackling in the oven. Then you'll understand: this ain't no kid's game. It's my delicious destiny. So that's what I told Miss Zhang in my essay. And you know what? She must have tasted something special simmering withinmy heartfelt words, because she gave me an A+! Red-inked a little note at the bottom too, saying she couldn't wait to make a reservation at my world-famous restaurant someday.Well Miss Zhang, your delectable dreams are about to be realized, because this young chef is just getting started. Stay hungry, world - your appetite won't know what hit it!篇6My Best FriendI still remember that day like it was yesterday. It was the first day of third grade and I was really nervous. I didn't know anybody in my new class and I was afraid I wouldn't make any friends. My mom always tells me I worry too much though. She says I have a great big heart and a sunny smile that can light up any room. I just don't always see it myself.Anyway, I was sitting alone at my desk fiddling with my brand new Pokémon pencil case when this boy came over to me. He had scruffy brown hair, bright blue eyes, and he was missing one of his front teeth which made his smile look really goofy and fun."Hi, I'm Jamie!" he said in a loud voice, sticking out his hand for me to shake it. "What's your name?"I shyly mumbled "Oliver" and shook his hand, surprised by how confident and outgoing he was."Oliver? That's a cool name! You look like you could use a friend. Wanna be best friends?" Jamie asked without missing a beat.I didn't even have a chance to answer before he plopped himself down in the desk next to mine and started chattering away about his favorite superhero movies and video games. I had never met someone so friendly and energetic before. Before I knew it, the morning bell had rung and Jamie was still going on and on. I couldn't help but laugh at his silliness. From that day on, Jamie and I were inseparable best friends. We did everything together at school – sat next to each other, played together at recess, had our lunch breaks together. Jamie made me come out of my shell. With his endless optimism and ability to make friends with literally anyone, I became more outgoing and confident too when I was around him.Jamie's family didn't have a lot of money though. Sometimes he would show up to school wearing clothes that were too smallfor him or with holes in them. Once, he told me his mom couldn't afford to buy him a warm jacket for the winter. I remember feeling really sad for him. My parents always made sure I had Brand new clothes, school supplies, you name it. It just didn't seem fair. For Jamie's 9th birthday, I asked my parents if we could throw him a party and get him some new things he needed, like a jacket. They agreed and said we would make it a surprise. Jamie's parents were so grateful for our kindness. His mom even cried happy tears during the party! After that, my parents started sneakily giving Jamie's parents money from time to time to help make ends meet, without them even knowing it was us. Jamie was my best friend and I couldn't stand the thought of him having to go without. My parents taught me it was important to be charitable and help others when you can. Seeing Jamie's joy and his parent's thankfulness made me feel so good inside.Jamie has definitely left an imprint on my heart. Going through elementary school with him by my side has shaped me into who I am today – a more caring, generous person who doesn't take things for granted. Watching my best friendstruggle but still manage to be the happiest person I know has given me an appreciation for the life I've been blessed with. Now we're going into 6th grade at middle school in a few months. I'm nervous about the transition, as most kids probably are. But I'm not scared this time because I know no matter what, Jamie will be right there with me. We've promised to be best friends forever and take on every adventure and storm that comes our way, together. With Jamie by my side, cracking silly jokes and finding the fun in every situation, I know I have nothing to worry about. He's helped me through so much already. As long as we have each other, everything will be just fine. That's the power of an amazing best friend. I feel so lucky to have found mine so early on in life. I just hope every kid can have a friend like Jamie someday.。

2018高考英语读后续写The 2018 Gaokao (also known as the high school entrance examination in China) was one of the most important tests for millions of students across the country. As the exam came to an end, students anxiously awaited their results, hoping to secure a place in their desired college or university. Louisa, a determined student, was no exception.Louisa had spent countless hours studying and preparing for the Gaokao. She had dreams of attending a prestigious university and pursuing a career in medicine. The exam was tough, but she felt confident in her abilities. However, as the days turned into weeks and still no news of her results arrived, doubt began to creep into Louisa's mind. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the day came when Louisa received her Gaokao results. With trembling hands, she opened the envelope and scanned the scores. Disappointment washed over her as she realized she had not scored well enough to secure a place in her desired university. She felt like all her hard work had been in vain. For days, Louisa wallowed in self-pity, questioning her abilities and wondering what her next steps should be. But then, a conversation with her supportive teacher changed everything. Mr. Zhang encouraged her not to give up and suggested alternative options for further education.Driven by a newfound determination, Louisa began exploring other universities and courses that aligned with her interests. She discovered a lesser-known medical program at a university in a different city. Though itwas not her first choice, Louisa saw this as an opportunity to prove herself and push her limits. With her sights set on her new goal, Louisa embarked on a new chapter in her educational journey. She moved to the unfamiliar city and threw herself into her studies. The courses were challenging, but Louisa was determined to excel. The change in scenery and the support from her newfound friends and professors motivated her to work even harder. As the years passed, Louisa became more confident in her abilities. Her hard work and dedication paid off, and she soon found herself being recognized as a promising young medical student.Four years later, Louisa stood proudly on the stage, donning her white coat and holding her medical degree. Despite the initial setback of not getting into her desired university, she had come a long way. The Gaokao had not defined her future; it had merely been a stepping stone on her path to success.Louisa's story serves as a reminder to all students that setbacks are not the end. Sometimes, life has different plans for us, and it is up to us to adapt and make the most of the opportunities presented to us. The Gaokao is just one chapter in a long journey filled with ups and downs. As long as we remain determined and resilient, success will find its way to us, regardless of the obstacles we face.In conclusion, the 2018 Gaokao was a turning point for Louisa. Though she did not achieve the results she had hoped for, she persevered and foundalternative paths to pursue her dreams. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience and determination. Let us all remember that success is not defined by a single exam but by our ability to adapt and grow in the face of challenges.。

A Simple Thank
I have been in the teaching profession more than thirty years, and one of the best teachers I have ever known was Mr. Rowe. I was lucky enough to co-teach fourth grade with him.
Mr. Rowe had infinite patience and understanding and I learned so much from watching him. He could perform miracles, like the one her performed with Steven, one of the unhappiest kids I ever saw. Steven couldn’t stand school. He didn’t like being picked last for kickball. He didn’t like the kids who raised their hands and knew all the answers, and most importantly, he didn’t like himself.
The first day he walked into Mr. Rowe’s classroom, he ignored the other students, looking angry and annoyed, and slid into his chair, knocking a couple of textbook onto the floor.
Mr. Rowe walked over to him and touched Steven’s shoulder, but Steven pulled away. Nevertheless, Mr. Rowe welcomed him: “Hi, Steven. I’m happy you are in my class. We are gonna have a great year.” Steven looked around the room as if Mr. Rowe must be mistaken. No teacher in his right mind would want Steven to be part of his classroom.
So, while Mr. Rowe seemed cheerful and relaxed that day of school, it seemed like Steven was angry and confused.
That day after classes, Mr. Rowe chose Steven to pitch the kickball at recess. “Hey, Steven,” Mr. Rowe commented, “You are good at pitching. Let me show you my secret trick.” Mr. Rowe taught Steven one of the tricks that not a single kid could perform. Steven learned fast and did quite well! Everyone cheered for him!
After the kickball, Steven sat as closer to Mr. Rowe in classes as he could. When a question was asked, Steven lit up; he knew the answer! He raised his hands. When he answered the question, his voice shook. However, he got the answer right! He said, with Mr. Rowe , his days of the fourth grade promised wonderful.
That is not to say that every day went smoothly, but it was evident that Steven grew to love Mr. Rowe more and more with each passing day.

第二节读后续写(满分25分)
One possible version:
Time passed quickly that year, and before we all knew it, it was the last day of school. Our school had a very special tradition on the last day. All the teachers filled the sidewalk, waving goodbye to the kids as the bused pilled out with their horns honking. But on that particular day, Steven walked slowly to the bus, his head down, tears in his eyes. He boarded the bus reluctantly, hesitated, and then ran back off the bus to hug Mr. Rowe. “I don’t want to leave you.” He sobbed. With red-rimmed eyes, Mr. Rowe comforted him, “I will miss you, too.”
Many years later, Mr. Rowe and I were surprised when a handsome young man walked into our classroom, dressed in the Marine Corps(海军) uniform. The young man stood tall and proud. It was Steven! Mr. Rowe and I couldn’t believe our eyes. He saluted and hugged Mr. Rowe tightly! “I have come back to school today just to say thanks to you!” It is my hope that every teacher is blessed with such an experience of a former student coming back to say, simply to say a very simple THANKS.。
