(人教版)高中英语选修六课后阅读训练: 五 Unit 2 Period 1 (含答案)
课后阅读训练五Unit 2Period 1Ⅰ. 阅读理解APoetry is one of the important art forms of literature, and is an easy way to express your feelings. Moreover, everyone understands it in their own way. Some find relief in poems; some read them simply for peace; some read poems for simple artistic pleasure. There are some special features of poetry, which make it quite different from other forms of literature. First of all, poems have rhythmic patterns. Generally most parts of a poem follow the same form of rhythm. Poems may have rhyme, but they don’t have to. The lines are neatly arranged together so that they express a particular feeling or emotion. There can be various types of poems but according to the pattern or the form, there are mainly three types:Lyrics(抒情诗): The lyric mainly concentrates on human thoughts and emotions rather than a story. Lyrics always bear song-like appeal. These are mainly short poems. Popular lyric poem forms are the elegy(挽歌), the ode(颂歌)and the sonnet(十四行诗). William Shakespeare, Edmund Waller and Keats are some of the greatest lyric writers of all times.Narrative poems: This type of poetry tells a story. Narrative poems are usually long poems. Epics(史诗)and ballads fall under this type. Some of the greatest epic poets are John Milton, Dante, Edgar Allan Poe, Alexander Pope, William Shakespeare, etc.Dramatic poems: Any drama that is written in verse is a dramatic poem. These poems generally tell a story. Black verse, dramatic monologues and closet drama belong to this type. William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Ben Jonson are some of the great dramatic poets.Whatever the form is, one thing, which cannot be denied, is that poetry is one of the most powerful tools to express our feelings.【语篇概述】本文主要讲了诗歌的一些特点以及诗歌的几个类别。

BTone of voice is very important in human conversation. A person might use words that communicate one message and a tone that shows something very different. This possibility for confusion is one reason that businessmen encourage discussing things in person, rather than through emails, as tone cannot be determined in the written form. The same rule is true with children. Children as young as a few months respond to a change in voice. It has been recorded that babies prefer to hear a story read by their own mother rather than another woman whom they do not know.Have you ever talked to someone who had little or no changes in their voice no matter what you were discussing? Think of the teacher or professor you had in the past that spoke in a monotone manner for theentire lecture. It is very boring and difficult to become interested in the topic.Parents should make an active effort to communicate with your child. If your child figures out how to open a box he or she has been struggling with and says “YES! ”with pride in his or her voice, your response should be happy and excited(something encouraging, like “You did it! ”). If you plainly said the same thing, you would not be matching the tone of your child. This applies to feelings that the child may express in everyday situations as well. If a child argues with a friend, your response should not be said in a high voice or with a smile. Seriously and sincerely you should say “You look sad” or “That must have been hard for you”.The tone of your voice expresses understanding, acknowledgement, connection and several other healthy things to your child. Although your words are very important, equally important is the tone with which you say those words.【语篇概述】本文是一篇说明文。

4. What’s the purpose of the first paragraph?A. To tell us that our tone of voice is as important as the words we say.B. To tell us that businessmen prefer to talk in person.C. To lead to the topic of the passage.D. To advise us to use different tones of voice correctly.【解析】选C。

人教版高中英语选修六课后阅读训练6.【Unit2Period2】及答案解析(20190731081830)
人教版高中英语选修六课后阅读训练6.【Unit2Period2】及答案解析Ⅰ.阅读理解AReading poems is not exactly an everyday activity for most people. In fact, many people never read a poem once they get out of high school. It is worth reminding ourselves that this has not always been the case in America. In the nineteenth century,a usual American activity was to sit around the fireside in the evening and read poems aloud. It is true that there was no television at the time, nor movie theaters, nor World Wide Web,to provide diversions. However, poems were a source of pleasure,of self-education,of connection to other people or to the world beyond one’sown community. Reading them was a social act as well as an individual one,and perhaps even more social than individual.Writing poems to share with friends and relations was, like reading poems by the fireside, another way in which poetry has a place in everyday life. How did things change? Why are most Americans no longer comfortable with poetry, and why do most people today think that a poem has nothing to tell them and that they can do well without poems? There are,I believe, three culprits(肇事者):poets, teachers, and we ourselves.Of these, the least important is the third:the world surrounding the poem has betrayed us more than we have betrayed the poem.Early in the twentieth century, poetry in English headed into directions unfavorable to the reading of poetry.Readersdecided that poems were not for the fireside or the easy chair at night, that they belonged where other difficult-to-read things belonged.Poetsfailed the reader,so did teachers. They want their students to know something about the skills of a poem. They want their students to see that poems mean something.Yet what usually occurs when teacherspush these concerns on their high school students is that young people decide poems are unpleasant crossword puzzles.【语篇概述】本文主要讨论了诗歌由过去的受人欢迎到现在受到冷落的原因。

The textbooks will be translated from Chinese into English to deliver a complete math program for primary school students. Apart from publishing textbooks, Britain will also spread the Shanghai Teaching for Mastery Programme in the country. A Shanghai-England teacher exchange started in 2014. In September 2014, 73 teachers and educational administrators from 45 English primary schools and relevant departments visited schools in Shanghai. Between November 2014 and March 2015, 61 mathematics teachers and researchers from Shanghai visited 48 English primary schools and performed teaching demonstrations. Communication between Chinese and British math teachers is conducive to sharing teaching experience and enhancing their teaching abilities, said Prof. Zhang Minxuan from Shanghai Normal University. In July 2016, Britain announced it would continue the exchange project and urged 8, 000 middle and primary schools in the country to lear n from Shanghai’s math education.【语篇概述】本文主要讲述英国部分小学将使用上海的数学教材。
