本课的教学内容分为两部分，第一部分为What’s this？主要学习和本课相关的1个地点单词和3个动物单词。
第二部分为Big or small? Fat or thin?主要通过语境学习并掌握描述动物的四个形容词。
学情分析：本课为第二单元复习课，课文内容是学生都熟悉和感兴趣的动物，有了第一单元对农场里动物的学习和认识，他们学习本单元的内容就显得比较轻松和简单。
上课在提高学生学习兴趣的同时，也要控制好课堂纪律，让课堂有张有弛。
上课还要尽量贴近学生的生活实际情景，加入游戏教学，带动学生融入课堂，引导每一个学生积极参与到学习英语的过程中来，提高学生的综合语言运用能力，增强他们学习英语的自信心和成就感。
