Usually, there are three groups of people involved in a debate, The debaters, the adjudicators and the audience. If we say that the audience’s role is only to receive something passively, the adjudicators will have to actively listen to the debate so as to make a decision after all the speeches by the debaters. Each debater has the obligation to push the proposal forward however, what he/she has to persuade is not his/her fellow debaters but rather the audience and adjudicators. The following wording will be based on British Parliamentary style debate. In the beginning, Prime Minister will put forward an icebreaker to attract the audience’s attention. His definition about the proposal should be clear and debatable; his outline should lead a direction for the whole debate and his introductory arguments should leave much space for the member of the Government to add new information and arguments.

In such a process, for and against a given topic are argued by the participants.
