Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen:Today my topic is ’Nuclear power: a blessing or a disaster?’When the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, the world was thrust into atomic age. Meanwhile in the commence of cold war and during its long term, it had set the world into fear and panic of nuclear war many times. But over the years, nuclear power has found its way to promote goodness for humankind .It promises to provide clean and efficient energy for the centuries to come.So whether nuclear power a blessing or a disaster? There is no firm answer for this question from my own perspective.Ladies and gentlemen, my very initial contact with nuclear power was from a TV programme called Green Space where I saw for the first time how nuclear power had changed people’s lives and what it had left for the residents’ living around Chyrnobil nuclear power plant. Unfortunately, It was a sad story. My heart sank when I saw a boy infant appear on the screen smiling with big blue sparkling eyes. He was so cute and adorable just like all the other kids but he was blinded. What’s more, he had to receive medical treatment everyday to alleviate radiation damage, but still stood little chance of growing up. Later I learned that inappropriate operation and equipment design defect was responsible for the tradegy .Eight years has past, but the picture of that boy’s smile still appears infront of me and reminds me that nuclear power can be a living devil. However, with the increasing depletion of resources and the instant demand for energy, clean and efficient nuclear power may seem the best choice. As an old saying goes ’Every sword has two blades.’ Nuclear power is dangerous, yet efficient; environmental devastated yet clean; expensive yet sustainable. It is a matter of how we use and how we treat it. While let’s beyond all this ,whether nuclear power a blessing or a disaster, it’s ours’ choice.Thank you for listening!。

A word that has changed the worldHonorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. Today I would like to begin with an advertisement, “Here‘s to the crazy ones. The misfits, the rebels, the trouble-makers, the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently, they’re not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things, they push the human race forward, And while some may see them as the crazy ones. We see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” This is Apple Think Different TV AD, which is Classic. And now, if I must choose a world as the one can change t he world, it is “Apple”.Steven Jobs, the visionary co-founder and former chief executive officer of the technology company Apple , has create a Series of iphone within 5 years , from 1 to 5, although 5 is still on the way, and there is the amazing point, those serious of iphone collect the luxuries and ordinary people on one level. Ordinary people have known nothing about luxuries except skimming some information from such advertisement in the past, however , with iphone’s born, we have the chance to see s uch scene, some students call their mother said, “could you buy an iphone to me?” and the answer would be, “ok, darling, If you get good grades in final exam”, that dialogue is similar as asking for a new pen container ten years ago. Thanks to Steven jobs, for most people, the real luxury present in the real world not just the screen.A picture, with hundreds of millions of crowed people, located in my geography’s book, those people even cannot move on smoothly under the title “Guangzhou railway station”. What a huge market. So, innovation is not only means product but also the market tendency, besides, reducing waste resources can also depends on such idea, which would be a big change for Social structure.iphone make the existence of New challenges and market tendency possible.True, Emergency situation exists, take China for example, the Gini Coefficient up to 0.48 according to the report in 2007, therefore, We cannot deny that Mr. Polarization become increasing fat with economy’s raise, without considerin g what the cost he should pay in recent years, which is harmful to our society. And now, the iphone is born in Apple Company as Weight division, so ordinary people can take a break finally. The other day, I read such a joke when I suffered the internet, almost everybody know the TV serial “ The age of naked marriage”, which is so romantic in our eyes, but the commentator said, boys and girls, do you really believe that you can meet such a wonderful marriage just like what the TV serial show? please focus your eyes on the hero and heroine, and you will find they both use iphone 4 under the name” poor couple”. I known the joke is not so funny when prepared with the reality, but What we learn from the joke is that the iphone is so popular among young people, even the ordinary people. We hope that iphone can spur up other luxuries enter the ordinary market as a low price, which will make it possible to shorten the Gap between high rank and low rank. How to keep the ordinary people in touch the luxury? How to reduce the polarization of the world? How to make our societybecomes more Harmonious? And now, iphone give the answer. I’m not sure that there will be more companies such as Grape, Orange, Mango, Peach or others in the future, but now it is Apple. Hello again, ladies and gentlemen!Nowadays, we live in a technology-driven society. On the one hand, technology helps us a lot. Like today, our contest uses all kinds of modern technology to help facilitate the process. On the other hand, however, we human beings have the tendency to be addicted to modern technology. No one knows this better than those “hi-tech” parents. And they are actually sending their children to “non-hi–tech” schools. I think the main concerns behind this decision are the following two: First, “hi-tech” parents want their children to return to the real human world; and second, they want their children to return to nature. For the first concern: return to the real human world. Well, when the little boy was sofocused on the computer screen, he is actually isolated from the real human world around him. But if we take the computer away from him and let him interact with his peers and play with his peers, he can actually learn how to gain emotional control of his own emotion, and he can have a better understanding of other people’s needs and rights. And that is what we called “EQ”, which is a very important element if you want success in life. For children to get back to real world, there is another element involved: that is nature. Well, it is true that a child canappreciate a picture of rose from a computer screen, but he will not be able to touch its petal; he will not be able to smell its fragrance. Without a computer, we actually give the child a chance to go back to nature. He can feel the coldness of the running water; he can hear the birds sing; he can hold a flake of snow in the palm of his little hands. Nature is not only the source of joy, it is, actually, more importantly, the source of imagination and inspiration for creativity.

It’s my great honor to be here giving this speech to you. Thank you so much. My topic of the speech is change the unchangeable-you will when you believe! You may often hear this when it comes to keeping a positive attitude towards your daily life, ‘‘change the changeable, and accept the unchangeabl e.” Of course, this is an easy way to avoid panic when meeting with difficult situations. However, I am going to share with you a totally different opinion about dealing with obstacles and having a successful life. That is, change the unchangeable, and you will when you believe. In our daily life, there are so many things which we considered as the unchangeable. For example, you think you cannot remember all the English words. You think its impossibleto be the number one in your class because many students are doing better than you. And also you do not believe that you can change the world by yourself. But now, I am telling you, all of these are not true. There is a chance that you can change the so-called unchangeable things. It’s not a hard as it looks li ke. All you need to do is to be confident, believing in yourself that you can do it.In this world, there are two kinds of animals that can climb to the top of the pyramid. One is the eagle, its wings can help it fly to the top of the pyramid easily. The other is the snail, no one believes the snail can do such unchangeable things. But the snail itself believes. Just like water constantly dripping wears holes in stone. Step by step, the confidence and persistence finally help the snail manage to arrive at the top of the pyramid. The unchangeable things, just like a wall that prevents us from seeing through the essence of life and exploring the colorful world. But confidence can give us courage to break that wall, and a strong will can finally get us there. When meeting with the unchangeable things next time, face it with confidence. Believing that you can do it under any circumstances. As long as we are confident enough to pursue our future dream with great passion and courage, we will make a difference!Nothing is difficult to a willing heart. Change the unchangeable-you will when you believe! 3honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen:today my topic is ’nuclear poote goodness for humankind .it promises to provide clean and efficient energy for the centuries to come.so ion of resources and the instant demand for energy, cleanand efficient nuclear po efficient; environmental devastated yet clean; expensive yet sustainable. it is a matter of how we use and how we treat it. while let’s beyond all this, whether nuclear power a blessing or a disaster, it’s ours’ choice.thank you for listening!。

20XXChange The Unchangeable—You Will When You Believe Good evening, ladies and gentleman! It’s my great honor to be here giving this speech to you. Thank you so much. My topic of the speech is change the unchangeable-you will when you believe! You may often hear this when it xxes to keeping a positive attitude towards your daily life, ‘‘change the changeable, and accept the unchangeable.”Of course, this is an easy way to avoid panic when meeting with difficult situations. However, I am going to share with you a totally different opinion about dealing with obstacles and having a successful life. That is, change the unchangeable, and you will when you believe. In our daily life, there are many things which we considered as the unchangeable. For example, you think you cannot remember all the English words. You think its impossible to be the number one in your class because many students are doing better than you. And also you do not believe that you can change the worldby yourself. But now, I am telling you, all of these are not true. There is a chance that you can change the so-called unchangeable things. It’s not a hard as it looks like. But the snailitself believes. As long as we are confident enough to pursue our futuredream with great passion and courage, we will make a difference!Nothing is difficult to a willing heart. Change the unchangeable-you will when you believe!

I think the main concerns behind this decision are the following t wo: First, “hi-tech” parents want their children to return to the real human world; and second, they want their children to return to nature. For the first concern: return to the real human world. Well, when the little boy was so focused on the computer screen, he is actually isolated from the real human world around him. Well, it is true that a child can appreciate a picture of rose from a computer screen, but he will not be able to touch its petal; he will not be able to smell its fragrance. For example, the invention of airplane, it’s actually the result of observation of birds in nature. In conclusion, if I were one of those “hi-tech” parents, I will make the same choice for my child, because after all, modern technology is just a tool. It is our human mind that is responsible for all the creation and all the imagination that we have in this world. Well, Shakespeare never knew how to use a computer in his entire life, but he still wrote the beautiful plays in our world;Puccini never knew how to use MP3, but he still composed great operas; Da Vinci had never heard of Photoshop, but he still painted the greatest artwork in our world. So you see, sometimes for our children, to take a step back from modern technology is actually a wiser and better choice. Thank you very much! This speaker stands out from the crowd with her remarkable ideas, clear organization, compact reasoning, high language proficiency and vivid delivery. The speech sets off with an appropriate interpretation of the topic, the central idea sorted out and neatly previewed, the two main points laid out in a typical topical order, supported by concrete examples and down-to-earth details. The conclusion, involving a series of pertinent brief examples, not only enhances but further helps drive home the core message. From the very start, the speaker demonstrates her excellent control of the stage and great thoughtfulness in handling the topic. She justifies the high-tech parents’ choice of sending their kids to non-high-tech schools for two reasons, namely, letting them return to the real human world and to nature. As she endeavors to prove the two-fold reason, she manages with ease the sharp contrast between the virtual world crammed with high tech and the real world free from its restraints. The word pictures she depicts are inviting; the gains and losses in these two worlds, described in exquisite detail, are weighed with deep sincerity and genuine conviction. In short, she skillfully helps the audience to visualize a beautiful s croll of painting in their minds’ eye, thus prevails over herself first, then the audience, to make the same decision. Remember, concrete details and vivid examples always speak louder than abstract ideas and general statements. The speaker exhibits a wonderful mastery of the English language, which is reflected in her careful diction, flexible sentence patterns, and marvelous spontaneity in prompt response to this topic. It is not unusual to make grammatical mistakes in an impromptu speech, but this young lady gains an edge over her peers with higher accuracy and elegance, without even a slip of the tongue. This speaker is also remarkable in terms of delivery. She seems quite at ease on the stage, always wearing a contagious smile, facial expressions active and pleasant. What she lacks, however, is appropriate gestures, perfect pronunciation and firm eye contact. She never stops making gestures! Excessive gestures do distract the audience from the message and sometimes can be very annoying! So I suggest that the speaker eliminate those uneasy or rigid gestures, completely rest her hands, arms or body when necessary. Anyway, it is a public speaking contest, right? Also, work on the enunciation of individual vowels and consonants. A few examples are“l i ve”, “i s olated”, “r u nning” and “p ai nt”. Fi nally, try to look at your audience instead of sweeping through the whole room or looking at the walls or ceiling unless you are seeking “divine inspiration”. Remember, steady and firm eye contact will enormously add to your credibility and persuasiveness. All in all, keep up the good work and you will become a master speaker!。
