S4:How can investors make money?

P:Good question! Investors who buy shares of stock in a company may make money in two ways.
史：问得好！在股市上买了某公司股票的投资者可通过两种方式赚钱。

They may begin to make money right away.
他们可能很快就赚钱。

Suppose that a person invests in a company and the company makes money.
如果一个人买了效益很好的一家公司的股票，
The company shares this money with the investor.

This money shared is called a dividend.

Dividends are usually sent to investors once every three months as long as they own the stock.

A second way that investors may make money is to sell the stock at a higher price than they formerly bought.

The price of each share will go up if the company does very well.
