Exercise:We live in a time when, more than ever before in history, people are moving about。
Evening had now come, the last of Adolf Hitler’s life。
Several neighbors hope to find safety in the only bomb shelter on their street when an announcement comes over the radio that enemy missiles are approaching。
要点分析和参考译文要点:定语从句“people are moving about”被比较状语“more than ever before in history”分隔。
Under a system deployed on the WhiteHouse Web site for the first time last t ime, those who want to send a message to PresidentBush must now navigate as ma ny as nine Web pages and fill out a detailed form that starts by asking whether th e message sender supports WhiteHouse policy or differs with it. Those people must now navigate nine Web pag es and fill out a detailed form.

2: The man who/that is sitting over there is my uncle.

另外留2个题目供大家参考练习(要求在最短的时间内找出句子的主干):1.Anycompanylargerthan300workersthatfailstomeettheminimumhiringstandardmu stpayapenaltyof50000Yenforeachoftheunfilledpositions.2.Manyoflife’sproblemswhi chweresolvedbyaskingfamilymembers,friendsorcolleaguesarebeyondthecapabilityoft heextendedfamilytoresolve.3.Theperiodcharacterizedbysovastabodyofelaboratelyrep
