Review of Oliver Twist

Review of ‘Oliver T wist'Oliver T wist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens', is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century. The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London. The hero of this novel was Oliver T wist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. T o my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don't think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose', he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.T o my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people's honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If theycannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness', they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.Francis Bacon said in his essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.' That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. Therefore, I, a kind person, want to tell those 'vermin-to-be' to learn from the kind Oliver and regain the nature of goodness. 04Book Review: “Camille”I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800's, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. Unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. When I first began to read the book, I did not care for Marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as I got further into the narrative, I realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. She felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle Armand Duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. It must have taken great courage for Marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. And it also showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change herself for him. However, happiness didn’t l ast for long. When M. Duval, Armand's father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armand's reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumas's last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society. As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the co ffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.Last morning, when tiding my bookshelf, I took this book out of the shelf, and a dried flower flew away from the book. It was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. a dried flower flew away from the book. It was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. I held it against the morning light and blew on it. The soft breeze carried it away. Camille is just like the camellia, she could never escape from the destiny of withering. But it wasn’t her fault; it’s because of the evil of Capitalism and the hideousness of that society.Suddenly, I remembered a saying: “Women are like the flowers”. Those pretty women are like those beautiful flowers; their delicate beauty makes people feel they are the miracle of life. However, even the God envies their beauty. It seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. As we are normal persons, even we can see the hideousness of humanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at most ask quietly in our hearts: Where have those beautiful flowers gone? Where have they gone? 02The Independent Spirit——about“ Jane Eyer”This is a story about a special and unreserved woman who has been exposed to a hostile environment but continuously and fearlessly struggling for her ideal life. The story can be interpreted as a symbol of the independent spirit. It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally.Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and tha t garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she mad e up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’send----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of lifewas what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with theexcellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.” (By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”)What’s more, this film didn’t end when Jane left Thornfield. For Jane Eyer herself, there should always be somewhere to realize her great ideal of being independent considering her fortitude, but for Rochester, how he can get salvation? The film gives the answer tentatively: Jane eventually got back to Rochester. In fact, when Jane met Rochester for the first time, she scared his horse and made his heel strained, to a certain extent, which meant Rochester would get retrieval because of Jane. We can consider Rochester’s experiences as that of religion meaning. The fire by his frantic wife was the punishment for the cynicism early in his life. After it, Rochester got the mercy of the God and the love of the woman whom he loved. Here we can say: human nature and divinity get united perfectly in order to let such a story accord with the requirements of both two sides. The value of this film may be due to its efforts to explore a new way for the development of humanism under the faith of religion.Life is ceaselessly changing, but our living principles remain. Firmly persisting for the rights of being independent gives us enough confidence and courage, which is like the beacon over the capriccioso sea of life. In the world of the film, we have found the stories of ourselves, which makes us so concerned about the fate of the dramatis personae. In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement, both physical and mental effects on us call for a balance. We are likely to find ourselves bogged down in the Sargasso Sea of information overlo ad and living unconsciousness. It’s our spirit that makes the life meaningful.Heart is the engine of body, brain is the resource of thought, and great films are the mirrors of life. Indubitably, “Jane Eyer” is one of them. 06Review of TroyI have never been to Troy, but David Maule made me feel as if I were standing on the high wall of Troy, watching the fierce war. Thanks to this British author, who adapted the famous Homer’s poem into a lively story, I found it easier to understand this story. Though the story happened over 3000 years ago in a remote place, I was deeply fascinated by it.The mysterious plot is one of the reasons why I loved The Story of Troy so much, yet I am more interested in the human heroes of the war.Hector was the eldest son of king of Troy, Priam. He was not only a real hero of Trojan, but was regarded the highest moral hero in Greek classic by later historians. The war started because of the mischief of his brother, Paris, whom he didn’t appreciate. However, since Hector was the commander of the Trojan army, he was obliged to fight with all force. It was really a tragedy that such a valiant man died in the duel with another great warrior, Achilles. It is natural to see death in a war. As a famous Chinese parable says, “A life can be as slight as a piece of feather, or as weighty as Mount Tai.”Sometimes, one’s glory walks hand in hand with one’s doom. Achilles was such a typical person. His personal charm made The Story of Troy more attractive. He was so crucial because his every appearance in a war encouraged his fellow soldiers and terrified the enemies. Actually, Achilles was half-god who was almost invincible in people’s mind. That’s why his name was memorized long after his death.Besides the two great men, the wisdom of Odysseus also proved him to be a great hero. He didn’t want to attend the war because he was happily married and had a lovely son. However, since his country was allied to Mycenae, he had to take the command given by the king of Mycenae. I’m quite sure that the story of the wooden horse is widely known, however, few people know who thought of the brilliant idea, that’s why I admired Odysseus so much because he was the person who got the idea. Thanks to the horse, the ten-year war came to an end at last. If you want to know how the wooden horse worked, just read the book. The ancient Greeks believed that the gods and goddesses also played important roles in the origin, process and ending of the whole story. The story of the golden apple was such an example. When Eris, the goddess of argument and disagreement, threw out the golden apple to a wedding ceremony on Mount Olympus, a dispute happened. Hera, the queen of gods, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, were all involved in the argument for the apple. None of them was willing to give way, so they turned to Paris for a final judgment. Tempted by Aphrodite’s beauty and promise, Paris handed the apple to her. To keep her word, Aphrodite helped him to get Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, as his wife. That was the cause of the war.Paris’s choice obviously annoyed the other two goddesses. So during the war, they helped the Greek alliance army while some other gods, such as Apollo and Aphrodite, guarded Troy. When Paris dueled with Helen’s former husband Menelaus, Aphrodite saved Paris when he was about to be finished off. After the duel between those two people, there was a truce between the Greek alliance and Troy. However, both Hera and Athena were not happy to see it. Hera pursued her husband ZEUS:“Now, will you send Athena to make the Troyjans break the peace?”(Page 22) Then with Zeus’s permission, Athena went down to start the war again and finally she brought the Greeks to success. From the whole story, we can see that in ancient Greeks’view, gods sometimes played a much more important role in their life. However, with the rapid development of science, we have learned that the Greek gods never existed. This is why a recent movie of Troy has not mentioned a single god. Everything happened due to men’s ambition, love, loyalty or jealousy. With those emotion and people’s effort, we human beings can accomplish wonders and be master of the world.God are of less importance than they used to be. Nonetheless, the gods and goddesses made The Story of Troy more mysterious and marvelous.I have learnt from the book more than the wonderful story of history, love and war. I believe that human can determine their destiny by their own. I highly recommend this book to my friends with the same interest.

Oliver
Oliver

Review of the Oliver TwistRecently I saw a film called “Oliver Twist”, a long time ago, I also read the English version of this book. Although the film reduce a lot of the details compared with the original book, but I still shocked by the story again. When reading, I have to imagine all sorts of stories that are happening, while the film gave me a specific picture, I can deeply realize the experience of the protagonist. This film is mainly about a orphan called "Oliver Twist" after many hardships, eventually adopted by a good man, lived a happy life from now on. Then I will simply from several story talk about my thoughts. The film according to British writer Dickens 1838 classic“Oliver Twist”adaptation. The story took place in 19th Century in the United Kingdom. On a foggy night, only nine year old orphan Oliver was from a ranch back to the church -- this is the place where he was born. Overcast weather, also means the beginning of his misery for the next. Shortly after the film began, a scene is very heartache. A large group of orphans squeezed in child labor field pick oakum, they working from day to night, every meal can only drink a bowl of thin batter. In order to ask for more food, the orphans came up with the idea of the draw, who draw the short hemp rope, who was responsible for the request to the steward, poor Oliver did not understand this rule, taken the shortest one, therefore he was badly beaten up, and to be ejected from the workhouse, was assigned to the other place to work. But when the clerk to report to the superior the event, that Oliver want some more after his dinner, the picture in the church staff table, a sumptuous dinner meal. This detail show the hierarchical Britain in the 19th century, the law of the jungle, cold-blooded, and the basement class people’s tragedy. The door of the church posted a free advertisement about child labor, and soon a brush chimney to receive the child labor, the blackened people frightened Oliver, fortunately, Oliver cries touched Mr. signed agreement, he hasn’t been away. But soon, he was bought by the coffin shop boss with 5 pounds, Oliver worked hard here, but to eat dog food, sleep in a coffin. Even so, he was not a word of complain, every day to do his work earnestly. However, the coffin shop a much older than his buddy Noah always bully him, insult him. One day he said Oliver's mother is a bad woman, it was annoyed Oliver, he like crazy rushed to the Noah’s body a whale. Oliver was also beaten up and then sneaked out of the coffin shop. Came to a crossroads, write to London, which also had the rest of the story plot, his suffering and his twist of fate. In this plot, the coffin shop Mr Sur Berrie was trying to help the orphan Oliver Twist, but his ability is limited. Two stories happened on the way to London also let me memorable. Oliver first came to the roadside a courtyard, want to some water or food, but the male host like a stray dog, cursed at him. The other one is when he’s walking with shoes were worn out, worn out faint, a kindly old woman and picked him back, gave him the fire, though the old woman was very poor, but cooked noodles for him to eat, saved him, let him have energy to go through the end of the next road. It tells us no matter we live in what kind of age, no matter in what situation, don't forget our kind nature, perhaps a kind of our behavior will bring positive impact on others in the future.Oliver experienced difficulty finally came to London, but unfortunately he fell into a den of thieves. Oliver knew nothing, he thought they provide him with accommodation and food is the man who is kind-hearted, he thought the training steal game really is just a fun game. Until one day he was taken to the streets of London to steal when he knew it was a group of evil thief, he was shocked, was caught by the police court. The kind bookstore boss who witnessed the incident proved Oliver is innocent and took him, because Mr Brown thinks Oliver is a kind-hearted, pure but tragic fate child. Originally, oliver can live a happy life, but the bad guy Fagin sent for Oliver and rob to return to the den of evil. Oliver tortured, but he wouldn't do bad things. Later Fagin and his partner Bill forced Oliver to Mr Brown's house to steal, Oliver came in the room shouting, awakened by the housekeeper and Mr. Brown, Bill shot and wounded Oliver, and took the injured Oliver back to Fagin there. This group of thieves actually are some homeless orphans, when they were children was adopted by Fagin. Fagin exhausted mind to taught them the skills to steal something, and then forced them to steal into the street every day. They stolen jewelry and belongings had been confiscated Fagin, secretly hide. These children had no way to get rid of control of Fagin, originally pure soul was slowly decay, more and more bad dry, but they also have a good side. Bill’s maid, Nancy very sympathetic to Oliver encounter, she secretly told Mr Brown Fagin and Bill’s identity and address , let him to report to the police to save Oliver. However, after coming home, she was been beaten to death by Bill who had known the truth. The police came, Fagin and the thieves were caught. Bill picked up the Oliver from the window jumped on the roof, threatening the police to put Oliver thrown down, he used a rope from the head down to the other buildings on the roof, just to be untied the rope, foot slipped, rope buckle just trap his neck, he was suspended strangled in mid-air. Oliver was rescued, he went back to the side of Mr Brown, really lived a happy life. Although by Fagin’s torture, the kind Oliver still to the prison to visit this heinous villain, and pray for him and hope God can forgive him. This is a touching movie. It describes the tragic life of street children to us, they are helpless, living on the streets, bullied, insulted by people, they like boat without sails, don’t know the direction, no goal, expose to wind and rain, once they are used by the bad people, from the wreck a life. Here the protagonist, brave, strong, not afraid of difficulties, gratitude. In those days, can have a such boy after the experience which is not a young child should be encountered, also can have a pure, gratitude is how precious. Oliver is worth all of us admire. When others said ill of his mother, he has courage to fight with others for the maintenance of his mother; when faced with the hard life, he has a strong survived; when adopted by the bad guy, he remembered the bad man for his good; when the bad man in jail, he also visited the bad man. There are many touched me places in this movie, but the one of the most touched me is that the man for the adoption of Oliver, he doesn't look like anyone else selfish, anything to think about only their own interests, don’t consider other people. He cares about Oliver, when Oliver is in danger, he will be filled with anxiety. His concerns forOliver is supposed the parents to be given. In a sense, he is completely acted as the role of Oliver,s father. Not only he just gave Oliver a good living conditions, but also careful nurtured him, he was full of hope to Oliver. He is kind, compassionate, and I am very grateful for his actions. In addition, I also touched by what the criminals said to Oliver at the end, he said to Oliver, hurry up, faster, faster, perhaps hoping the protagonist to forget the past and start a new life! Also let me memorable plot is the last scene of the movie, when Oliver going to prison see Fagin who had taught him to steal. When I was saw this scene, I particularly don’t understand, why do him want to go to see him. If Oliver didn’t know them, maybe he without suffering a series of later experienced. But I ignored the point, if there is no Fagin and the Dodger who gave him food and shelter, perhaps he would have starved to death. Although the motivation of these people is bad in the beginning, they want to train him to become a good thief, but they gave him the hope of life in his dying occasion. Oliver is so kind, have a heart of gratitude, he only remember Fagin kind for him. Fagin in prison has the spirit is not normal, but when he said to Oli ver:“ I'll kind for you”, suddenly stretched out his arms and hugged him, this action shocked me, I don’t know what kind of mood he was out of at that time, but let me feel this bad guy Fagin who made lots of children to the way of stealing, at least he has a bit of emotional for Oliver in a moment. I think, no matter heinous person may also have so a little bit kindness. Oliver finally let Fagin pray with him together, this kind of children hope this prayer can make Fagin get the God forgiveness.。

Learn to care and satisfy---Review of《Oliver Twist》Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century. In the book masters of Oliver Twist is an orphan, he was born in a workhouse. After he was born, his mother soon died. Later, he often was sent as an item and suffered from much harassment until finally met a kind old gentleman--- Mr. Brownlow. The gentleman took him in, since the pitiful boy begin to lead a good life.Mr. Brownlow is a kind person. It is because of his kindness, Oliver to be saved, and also because of his kindness, to make the world less a thief and more a good man. Although the orphanage took in Oliver, the orphanage was not good enough for the children inside. The children inside were often starving, and only when someone came to check it, did the orphanage do it. But no matter how the thief Gang persuaded Oliver, he just refused to do so, and the thieves tried to force Oliver by hard means, but Oliver was hard and soft, and resisted such dirty behavior from the inside. This is also I admire Olivers point, no matter what his environment, he is not affected by others, and always maintain a pure heart. Whether its the dark, cold orphanage, or just abuse his coffin shop, etc., and later, the evil gang of thieves. He has never hated anyone, nor has he complained about society. The quality of the mud is not worth learning. This books characters in addition to Olivier, a character I also very sympathetic is Nancy, she is a gang of thieves companions, but after reading the whole book only to find that she is really good for a gang of thieves Olivier people. When the gang tried to bully Oliver, she always stepped forward and stopped them. When the gang tried to frame Oliver and let him lose his fathers great fortune, Nancy revealed the news to Olivers aunt, and the plot of the banditgang was not successful. But she has thus provoke fatal disaster. She is a kind person, but she does not deserve the happiness, so she feels sorry for her. After reading this book, I understand the temperature of the world and treasure everything that I have. Oliver Twist is written by Charles Dickens.Charles Dickens is one of the greatest writers in the England. He was born in a poor family, but later he became famous and rich. The famous novel --A Tale of Two Cities is written by him, too. This novel shows us the cruelty and crime of London. Oliver Twist, the hero, is a poor orphan. He lived in a life filled with taunts. Nobody loved him. With visions of his future, he decided to go to London. He thought a new life was coming, but he was wrong, a group of thieves were waiting for him.The author created a group of bad men.Fagin, an old man, with a horribly ugly face and red hair, was the head of those thieves. He tried to make Oliver be a criminal. Bill Sikes was a cruel and evil man in the group. He had a bad temper.Monks, Oliver’s brother, did bad things to hurt Oliver. He wanted to get the legacies left by his father alone. He paid Fagin to trap Oliver into a life of crime. In fact, they were all afraid of being put into prison and being hanged. They can’t live happily. Nancy, a poor girl, loved a bad man. She had to help Bill Sikes perpetrate, because she loved him. She had to be loyal to the criminal group, because she loved him. Actually, she was kind. She helped Oliver at the risk of her life. If she hadn’t fell in love with Sikes, she would have a happy ending. The author showed these ugly things to us, he described an ugly world. But there are more kind people in the novel.Mr. Brownlow, an old friend of Oliver’s father, took good care of Oliver.Mrs. Maylie, Harry Maylie’s mother, saved Oliver of his life. Miss Rose is the aunt of Oliver, in fact. They all protect Oliver from hurt.Oliver was unlucky to meet so many evil people, but he was luckier to get help from so many kind people. In the end of the novel, all the evil people were punished. Oliver got what he should get. Rose married Harry Maylie and theylived happily. All the kind people have a happy ending.Righteousness can always beat evil. I think this is what the author wants to tell. Although there are many ugly things in the world, we must believe that righteousness can always beat evil. We must store kindness even though we are in ugly situation. One is poor if he doesn’t have kindness. One is rich if he has kindness. So please store your kindness in your mind. What’s more, the novel also tells us to be brave. Oliver was brave enough to overcome all the problems he had met. No matter how difficult the problem is, we can’t give up, we must try our best to solve it.From Oliver Twist , I have learnt a lot 。

1. Introduction
The movie "Oliver Twist", adapted from British author Charles Dickens's novel, the film tells the story about an orphan Oliver's miserable life. At the beginning of the film was shrouded in gray tones, Oliver is an orphan, grew up in the workhouse, and was steward to children labor workshop. The work was very hard, and he was in rags, hungry and cold. Later he was sent to the coffin shop as an apprentice and then he fled to London after the long-time's abuse while the boss didn't pay attention to him. There, he became a "thief". But the poor Oliver was lucky, because he got help from a good gentleman named Mr. Brown. Finally he was out of the den of and got rid of the unfortunate fate. However, if Oliver couldn't stick to the right direction and became a real thief like other children, would Mr. Brown take him in? Finally, it was Oliver's kind and brave that made him be a reunion with his relatives. Eventually Oliver also forgave Fagin who caused him a lot of troubles.
2. Character Analysis
The film created many people who are distinct characters. These three people make me the most impressive: Nancy gave helpless Oliver sympathy and great love. She had no way and also had no ability to change her own life, but she always saved Oliver at risk. The gentlemen Mr. Brown found Oliver be faint in the street, took him home to see the doctor, and taught him principle to make people. Brown gave Oliver respect and care without any sense of hierarchy, just felt pity for the poor and unfortunate fate.
Oliver always kept holding a kind heart to face of social life. He was innocent, kind, and not confused by money. And he was grateful, and he always loved Mr. Brown who ever helped him. Even though he had nothing, he didn't interact with Fagin for theft. Oliver always looked at everyone and everything with tolerance. He went to prison to visit Fagin, and forgave what he did.
3.Conclusion
"Oliver Twist" tells us that we are supposed to insist on the right path and choose the right direction no matter what difficulties and pressure we meet. We should also learn from kind Mr. Brown. It is his kindness that saved Oliver. In a word, we should cherish the better life that we have and face difficulties bravely and solve them when they come. In this way we will have a beautiful and bright future.。
