1. try

try doing sth 尝试做某事I tried smoking at the age of 15, it was terrible.

try to do sth 尽力、努力做某事He tries to learn English well.

try on 试穿Can I try it on? Can I try on the pair of the shoes?

2. tell

tell sb to do sth 告诉某人做某事My mother told me to lock the door.

Tell sb not to do sth 告诉某人不要做某事My parents often tell me not to smoke.

Tell sb that+从句 A student told me that his English was so poor that he couldn’t follow the teacher.

3. 过去将来时的构成：would +V原

Yu Gong would put all the earth and stones from the mountains into the sea.

4. work on 从事…; 对…起作用

I’m working on improving the students’ oral English these days.

5.as soon as 一…就…，引导时间状语从句，遵循主将从现原则。As soon as possible 尽快As soon as he fishes his classwork, he will run out of the classroom.

6. continue to do sth 继续做某事Let’s continue to work.

7. die 名词为death ，形容词为dead，die为非延续性动词，不能和时间段连用，如果

连用要用be dead来代替

8. so+adi/adv+that 如此……以致于……

The boy is so old that he can look after himself. The cartoon is so exciting that every child loves to watch it.

He ran so quickly that I couldn’t catch up with him.=He ran too quickly to catch up with.(当so…that后跟的从句为否定句时，可用too…to 来替换)。

So that引导目的状语从句，“以便，为了”，从句中常使用can/coiuld/may、might等情态动词。The little boy saved much money so that he could buy his mother a gift on Mother’s Day.这个小男孩节省了很多钱，为了在母亲节给母亲买份礼物。

9.send 派送，派遣send sb to do sth 派某人去做某事

send sb+to +地点派某人去某地

be sent to do sth或+地点，被动语态，被派…… I was sent to look for the doctor.

10. take…away 把……拿走，带走take all the books away. take…to…把……拿到……（1）take 花费It takes/took sb some time to do sth 做某事花费某人多长时间

It took me two hours to finish doing my homework yesterday evening.

（2）Spend 花费spend…on…..在……上面花费……

I spent 20 yuan on the book.

Spend some time (in)doing sth做某事花费多长时间

I spent two hours in doing my homework.

（3）Cost 花费That book cost me 20元。At all costs 不惜任何代价，at cost 按成本（4）Pay 为……付款pay…for I paid 20yuan for that book。

11. remind remind sb to do sth 提醒某人做某事

Please remind you to remember your dream all the time.

Remind sb of sth 使某人想起…… The song reminded me of my childhood.

Remind sb that+从句He reminded me that I should do it at once.

Li Ning reminds us that anything is possible.(nothing is impossible.一切皆有可能)

12. unless=if…not 除非；如果不

You won’t get good grades unless you work hard.=Y ou won’t get good grades if you don’t work hard.(主将从现)

13. make make sb do sth 让某人做某事Our English teacher often makes us recite the text.

Make sb/sth+adi 使某人/某物……I often my English teacher angry.

Sun Wukong can make his magic stick small or large.

14. think about= think of 认为，思考，考虑

What do you think about Sleeping Beauty?

15. finish doing sth 结束做某事

I can’t go to the party with you until I finish doing my homework.

Seem: seem to have done（过去分词）好像做过某事

Seem+adj=seem to be+adj He seems angry=He seems to be angry.

主语+seem+不定式He doesn’t seem to like the idea. 他似乎不太喜欢这个主意。

It seems +that从句It seems that no one knows what has happened in the park. 似乎没有人知道在公园里发生了什么事。

18. keep keep+adj 保持……keep healthy, keep our classroom clean.

Keep doing sth=keep on doing sth 继续做某事，一直做某事Keep trying and don’t give up.继续努力不要放弃。

Keep……for oneself 为某人自己留……keep the silk and gold for themselves. 为他们自己留下了丝绸和黄金。

Keep to oneself 保守秘密Please keep it to yourself.请你保守秘密。
