审校认为，这样改正是没有疑问，再者报告来自南斯拉夫国内，联合国文件控制部门的人也无法作出决定，再联系南斯拉夫国内十分麻烦，说不定是南斯拉夫翻译的错。
2.7bore62mm AK rifles【译文】“口径为7.62mm的AK式步枪”【解析】查字典发现bore与枪械有关的意思有“枪膛”、“口径”。
那么，原文直译则为“7枪膛/口径62毫米步枪”,好像说不通。
怀疑原文有问题。
用关键词查Google发现这样的信息：“AK-47式7.62mm突击步枪是前苏联著名枪械设计师卡拉什尼科夫设计的，俗称冲锋枪……”数字、型号太巧合，7.62mm也是指口径，所以，一定是原文笔误。

原文的“全国人大代表前”如果加上“一个”，意思就明确多了。
翻译为英语时，可以把意思进一步明确，而且“deputy”不能用复数形式。

【解析】纽马克认为，如果译者认为读者可能会忽视或误解自由女神手中的“剑”，译者应该加一个脚注，首先说明剑的象征意义(侵略性)，然后说明，自由女神手中拿的其实不是一把剑，而是火炬，象征对难民的欢迎。
还可以加上有助于读者理解的细节：自由女神雕塑者姓名、雕塑日期、雕塑国家、雕塑原因等。
如果该段要改写为新闻，可能需要缩短(删去关于阳光的描写和as though一句)；把“剑”直接改为“火炬”，因为这显然是作者的笔误，
一般情况下需要加注。
