¡¡¡¡Southeast University (SEU), as one of the oldest higher-learning institu tes in China, was founded in 1902. It is a national key institute of higher learning administered directly under the Ministry of Education of China (MOE ).
¡¡¡¡It is one of the top 20 universities among 2,000 Chinese higher-learning institutes, and it is a university in the Project of 211 and 985.
¡¡¡¡It is located in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, a most developed province in China. It has campuses of Sipailou ,Jiulonghu and Dingjiaqiao, c overing a total area of 427 hectares.
¡¡¡¡SEU has begun to enroll overseas students since 1956. Students from over 60 countries and regions have to date completed their studies at SEU. SEU h as established close cooperation and exchanges with over 30 foreign countrie s and more than 100 universities and institutes.

We opened the English-taught bachelor's program of clinical medicine in 2006, the English-taught master's program of intern ational business in 2008, and the English-taught bachelor's program of archi tecture in 2009. The programs are tailored for international students and th e faculty involved are very knowledgeable and with the rich experience in te aching and academic research home and abroad. ¡¡¡¡If the international students join our Chinese-taught programs, they wil l study all the courses together with our Chinese students. We will designat e some excellent Chinese students to give them help in study, and the teache rs will also offer them additional help if necessary.
¡¡¡¡If the international students join the English-taught programs, they wil l find the programs specially designed to catering to their background and n eed. E.g. in the English-taught master's program of international business, the international students are exposed to the developing China through visit ing various enterprises in Jiangsu and neighboring region. These activities are arranged in their tour-study week.
¡¡¡¡This year SEU has admitted 10 Ph. D students, 40 postgraduate students, 100 undergraduate students and 35 non-degree students. They came from (60)As ia, (60)Africa, (30)Europe, (28)America and (2)Oceania. The English-taught b achelor's program of clinical medicine, architecture, and the English-taught master's program of international business will start by the end of this mo nth, and other programs have begun. So if you start right now, you can apply for the above mentioned programs. If the number of applicants for Chinese l anguage and culture exceeds 10, we are ready to open a separate class for th e new applicants.
¡¡We design our recruitment plan for 2010 based on this year's plan, with the expectation that we'll have an increasing-number of qualified applicants for each program. But we are market-oriented, so if the international educa tion market has any new demand, we are ready to design new programs.
¡¡¡¡In the past three years, we have more and more qualified applicants. Eac h of the programs has its own characteristics. It's hard to say which is mor e popular. The Chinese-taught programs of architecture and medicine, the Eng lish-taught programs of clinical medicine and international business have ad mitted more international students than others.
¡¡¡¡We'll offer scholarship to some applicants for the postgraduate programs , and we'll give priority to the applicants for the Ph. D programs. After th e international students begin their study, if they can prove the academic e xcellence, they will get scholarship.
