教学设计设计思路：本节课设计按照《英语课程标准》的理念作为指导，倡导学生的体验、参与，培养学生自主学习的能力,让学生带着任务有目的地上课（即Task-based teaching），并在课堂学习中不断获得完成此任务所必须的知识、能力、技能等。
本节课谈论的话题是地理知识，学生都有了解，再加上现在的中学生思维能力较强，所以难度不是非常大。
但学生对比较级、最高级可能有所遗忘，学生在做形容词比较级和最高级转换句型的时候会有困难，所以需要在课堂中强化。
同时，学生很可能会在读较大数字时遇到困难。
因此，本课采取独立呈现,综合操练的方式,让学生逐渐理解消化。
在本课教学过程中，在注重启发引导的同时，更要注重教学方法的灵活性，激发学生学习的兴趣，让学生乐于接受，易于接受。
《Go for it！》教材从八年级下开始，难度加大，要求学生掌握的词汇量增加，语法项目变多，导致学生学习英语出现两极分化的现象。
所以，本节课的设计由简到难，逐层深入学习。
集中呈现大数字的读法和表示度量的结构，进而拓展了形容词最高级的用法和部分比较级的用法。
本节课设计，从学生实际生活出发，联系学生的生活实际，学以致用。
英语是一门语言，语言是人类用来交流的工具。
本节课不管是导入环节的设计---歌曲《天路》，还是到小组活动运用小组加分机制让学生积极回答问题，善于发现问题，解决问题，学以致用，体现了英语的交流工具作用。
努力达到有效教学、构建高效课堂。
本节课的教学，采用任务型有效教育方法进行授课，学生通过小组合作学习。
整节课，小组合作形式多样，教学效率高。
PPT 制作针对性强，直观、形象，节约了课堂时间，增加了课堂容量，在很大程度上可以提高教学效率。
本节课设计充分体现学生在课堂中的主体地位，教师只是课堂的指导者。
学生通过小组合作完成任务，学习、掌握本节课的知识。
在完成任务的过程中，学生与学生互动、交流解决问题，教师补充讲解。
而不是传统课堂的满堂灌模式，这样能极大地调动学习的主动性和积极性，学生学习英语的兴趣得以提高。
