作文University as I see

University as I seeHaving been in the university for more than one month , I am impressed by the different and freshing environment.I study maths in Central South University . The first time I entered the school ,I couldn’t help saying “Wow, it’s too large .” The school building varies from A to D and many specific teaching areas. As for library ,it’s neat ,quiet and favored by most of the students . As it is filled with abundant books covering nearly all lines of business . There is hardly place that can be more suitable to study on our own .Furnished with decorated buildings, pleasant surroundings, advanced equipment, skilled professors , outstanding teaching styles, our university are equally matched the best one.The distance between dormitory and teaching buildings is a little far .Three kinds of means are frequently chose by students as riding bicycles ,walking ,or taking school bus. I prefer bicycles because it can be convenient and time-consuming at the same time I can exercise as well. School bus may be convenient but it is rathercrowded .Walking might spend too much time although it can keep fit.Another thing that impressed me is the canteen .The foods here are not only abundant with all kinds of nutrition, but also covers Chinese different area’s typical foods which give students a strong sense of belonging .I have to stress the class and lifestyle in campus is totally different from the past. We enjoys more freedom which requires us to learn to manage time efficiently. We students are in the dominate place of learning and the class which calls for us to learn automatically. People’s here are all busy with their future .As for me ,I should as well work hard to control my life and manage it .All in all, campus life impressed me deeply.。

Ed:I think so. Um... more now than before.Martha:What do you think is the most serious environmental problem in the world today?Ed: Today... I think damage to the ozone layer is a bigproblem, and another problem is pollution in big cities and things like that. Martha: How do you learn about environmenproblems?Ed: Um... through school. A lot of clubs promote environmental safety, and some TV programs, too. They talk about environmental safety and stuff like that.Martha: Do you think students should learn more about the environment at school?Ed: I think so. So, as they grow older, they can be more aware of all the problems that are going on, and also to prevent more problems from occurring.Martha: If you could create a new law to help the environment, what would it be?Ed: A new law for the environment? Um... I'd probably say that when people throw away their cigarette butts, they have to throw them into the garbage bin, not just throw them everywhere because it's just littering and I hate that. So they should be fined if they throw them on the floor or on the ground.Martha: That's a good idea. What do you personally do to help protect the environment?Ed: I'm so against littering. I never litter. If I see somebody litter, I get really angry. So I always throw my trash into thegarbage bin. Keys:(1)nature(2)environmental problem(3)pollution(4)promote(5)aware of(6)from occurring(7)law(8)throw away(9)fined(10)trashTask 2:River pollutionScript:If you see dead fish floating on the river or notice that the water is discolored and smelly, you know the river has been polluted, and there are four main possible causes for it.First, fertilizer. If large amounts of fertilizer or farm waste drain into a river, the concentrations of nitrate and phosphate in the water increase considerably.Algae use these substances to grow rapidly, turning the water green. This massive growth of algae leads to pollution. When the algae die, they are broken down by the action of the bacteria, which quickly multiply, using up all the oxygen in the water and therefore causing the death of fish.Second, industrial waste. Factories sometimes discharge chemical waste into rivers. Examples of such pollutants include cyanide, lead, copper, and mercury. These substances may enter the water in such high concentrations that fish and other animals are killed immediately. Sometimes the pollutants enter the food chain and accumulate until they reach toxic levels, eventually killing fish and other animals.Third, oil pollution. If oil enters a slow-moving river, it forms a rainbow-colored film over the entire surface, preventing oxygen from entering the water.Fourth, warm water. Industry often uses water for cooling processes, sometimes discharging large quantities of warm water back into rivers. A higher temperature of the water lowers the level of dissolved oxygen and upsets the balance of life in the water. Keys:1.D 2.A 3.B 4.C 5.DTask3: Curbing carbon emissionsScript:Although it is not an easy task, China is striving to fulfill the promise to cut its carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by 40 to 45 percent in the next 10 years.Zhang Guobao, Director of the National Energy Administration, said, “The government puts great emphasis on seeking harmonious development between cities and the environment, and is readjusting the energy structure by giving priority to thedevelopment of clean and low-carbon energies, including hydroelectric, nuclear, wind, and solar power."Government authorities have closed small, coal-fired plants with a total capacity of 60.06 million kilowatts in the past four years. This year's target of closing 10 million kilowatts of capacity will be achieved by August."We have promised to the international community that 15 percent of our power will be generated from nonfossil sources by 20XX年," Director Zhang said. At present, non-fossil energy accounts for only7.8 percent.China is making efforts to increase the proportion of cleanenergy in its total energy consumption. Statistics show that China invested US$34.6 billion in clean energy last year, exceeding the United States which invested US$18.6 billion. Thus, China has become the world leader in generating clean energy. Five years earlier, China's investment in clean energy was only US$2.5 billion. However, China's carbon emission reduction target cannot be achieved easily. The shift to a low-carbon economy might be met at a cost to society. For instance, more than 400,000 people were laid off as a result of the shutdown of small coal-fired power plants in the past four years. Many studies indicate that the effort to curb greenhouse gas emissions may delay China's development, affectpeople's income, and lead to unemployment.Keys:1.D 2.D 3.A 4.B 5.CIV. Further Listening and SpeakingListening Task:Task1: The environment and the developmentScript:Li:Hi, Professor Wang.I'm Li Lin, a correspondent for the university newspaper. The staff and students here are getting more and more interested in the relationship between the environment and economic development. What do you think is the most serious environmental problem at present? What measures should we adopt to improve the environment and develop the economy at the same time?Wang: There are many environmental problems: air pollution, water pollution, desertification, overfishing, destruction of natural habitats, acid rain, overconsumption of wild animals and plants, etc. But lying at the center of all those problems, as I see it, is the contradiction between economic growth and the environment.Since the United Nations Earth Summit in 1992, growing number of people and governments have adopted the new idea of "sustainable development". This means today's economic growth should not wipe out the resources and options for future generations. Planning and development should ensure not only economic growth, but also social advancement and environmental health. In other words, some economic behavior must be restricted or controlled. Instilling principles of sustainable development into government planning, resource management and economic policy is the most important step China can take to solve its environmental problems.China has already taken some remarkable steps to reduce damage to the environment. For instance, following the hugefloods of 1998, the government banned logging in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in order to protect forests and reduce the risk of floods.Still, the basic contradiction between the environment and development persists. Much work is to be done before we can achieve the aim of a balance between economic growth and the environment.Keys:(1)water pollution(2)overconsumption(3)economic growth(4)resources(5)social advancement(6)restricted(7)government planning(8)economic policy(9)remarkable steps(10)balanceTask 2: Thick cloud of pollution covering southern AsiaScriptA United Nations study says a thick cloud of pollutioncoveringsouthern Asia threatens the lives of millions of people. Scientists say the pollution could increase lung disease and cause early death. The cloud is also damaging agriculture and affecting rainfall levels. It has affected many countries in southern Asia. The pollution cloud is three kilometers high. Scientists say it can move halfway around the world in a week. The cloud is the result of forest fires, the burning of agricultural waste, and huge increases in the burning of fuels by vehicles, industries, and power stations.Pollution from millions of bad cooking stoves has made the problem worse. Many poor people burn fuels like wood and animal waste in such stoves.Scientists say the cloud of pollution appears to cool the land and oceans by blocking sunlight. They say it reduces the amount of sunlight reaching the Earth's surface by as much as 15 percent. At the same time, heat inside the cloud warms the lower parts of the atmosphere.Harmful chemicals from the cloud are mixing with rainfall. This acid rain damages crops and trees and threatens public health. Scientists are concerned that the pollution will intensify during thenext 30 years as the population of Asia increases to an estimated 5,000 million people.Keys:1.D 2.B 3.A 4.C 5.CTask3: Mountain regions face a number of dangersScriptMountain people around the world are in great danger of the negative effects of the worsening environment, according to a UN report. As global warming and deforestation accelerate and technology makes wilder places more accessible, environmental and social pressures on the world's remotest regions increase. The UN has found that many mountainous regions―inhabited by one out of five of the world's people―are barely recognizable when they are compared to what they were like 60 years ago. This is mostly because forests were cut to make way for cattle grazing and agriculture. The authors of the UN study expect 98 percent of themountain areas to experience severe climate change by 2055.Biological losses are expected to be heavy. The mountains of Europe, parts of California and the northwest Andes in South America are among the most threatened mountain areas in the world and should be given priority in conservation. The UN is anxious to raise awareness of the problems facing mountain areas because they are inhabited by some of the most vulnerable people. These people could lose their culture and their livelihood with even the smallest shifts in climate. At the same time, many mountain regions are losing people. Thousands of villages in Europe are deserted most of the year.In other areas like Nepal, people are drifting to the cities in search of work.Keys:(1)negative(2)report(3)warming(4)pressures(5)mountainous(6)barely(7)make way for(8)expect 98 percent of the mountain areas to experience severe climate change by 2055(9)The UN is anxious to raise awareness of the problems facing mountain areas(10)Thousands of villages in Europe are deserted most of the yearViewing and speaking:Task 1:Santa's home town in dangerScriptWeather experts may have found a new problem caused by global warming, one which many people will pay attention to: There are signs that Santa's home in the North may be in trouble because of warmer temperatures. The Finnish town of Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle, which many Europeans say is the home of Santa Claus, has had its warmest winter in 40 years. As a result, there has been much less snow than usual―meaning no snowmen, no snowballs, and possibly not enough snow for Santa to ride his sleigh on.More important for local residents, it may mean fewer tourists, as well. Santa's wintry home town normally attracts thousands of visitors each year, and millions of dollars.Anne Pelttari-Bergman, the town's tourist director, worries that the town could be in trouble if snow levels do not return to normal. She explains: "Snow is really important for us, of course, for Santa Claus, for Christmas tourism, and also for our winter tourism because winter is our best season. It is really important for us."Weather experts and town residents are hoping this warm winter isan one-time thing. Few people can imagine a holiday when even Santa does not have a white Christmas.Keys:(1)signs(2)warmer temperatures(3)warmest(4)snow(5)attracts(6)trouble(7)normal(9)one-time(10)whiteTask 2:Talk after viewingScriptThe image of Santa Claus flying in a sleigh pulled by reindeer and leaving toys and gifts for every child is known worldwide, and Santa Claus has become the most beloved of Christmas symbols. But if the weather at Santa's home town were to become so warm that there was no more snow at Christmas, Santa Claus would lose his charm. So snow is really important for Santa Claus, for his home town'sChristmas tourism, and its winter tourism as winter is the best season in Santa's home town.Unit 2 testPart IKeys: 1.C 2.C 3.B 4.C 5.DPart II(1)chemicals(2)atmosphere(4)trapped(5)lasts(6)human-based(7)progressed(8)Even in Ancient Rome people complained about smoke put into the atmosphere(9)Air pollution can have serious consequences for the health of human beings(10)Cities with large numbers of automobiles or those that use great quantities of coal often suffer most severely from air pollution problemsPart III1.A2.C3.D4.C5.BPart IV1.B2.C3.D4.C5.C6.A7.D8.D9.B 10.C。

关于大学生在课堂是用手机的看法英语作文

关于大学生在课堂是用手机的看法英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Using Phones in Class? Not Cool!Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm a 4th grader. Today I want to talk about something that really bugs me - college kids using their phones during class! I see it all the time on TV shows and in movies. It's just not right! In elementary school, we have really strict rules about phones. We can't use them at all during the school day unless we have special permission from a teacher for an important reason. If someone gets caught with their phone out, even just for texting, it gets taken away until the end of the day. Nobody wants to lose their phone privileges!I don't understand why it's different for college students. Aren't they supposed to be the really smart ones? The ones setting an example for little kids like me? Using phones in class just seems disrespectful to me. Like they don't care about learning or paying attention to their teachers.Let me break down all the reasons why I think using phones in college classes is a bad idea and shouldn't be allowed:It's distractingHow can you possibly pay attention and learn properly if you're busy texting your friends, scrolling through Instagram, or playing games on your phone? I know I can't concentrate on anything when I get distracted by my phone, even for just checking notifications. It's so easy to get sucked into your phone for way longer than you mean to. Before you know it, you've missed a huge part of the lesson! It's rudeTeachers work really hard to prepare lessons and make sure we understand everything. Using your phone when they're trying to teach shows that you don't respect them or value their efforts. It's like saying "What you have to say isn't important to me." That's got to hurt a teacher's feelings! They're just trying to do their job and help students learn. You're missing outCollege is expensive from what I've heard. Kids have to pay a ton of money or take out big loans to go to classes. So why waste that money by being on your phone and not even payingattention? You're literally throwing your money away! You could learn so much more if you stayed focused instead of mindlessly scrolling. It's selfishThe loud typing sounds, notification pings, and bright screens are really distracting for the students around you too, even if you think you're being discreet and sneaky. How would you like it if you were trying to focus and there were alllll those distractions around you? No one should ruin the learning experience for others just because they can't stay off their phone. It's unsafeOkay, maybe this one is a bit of a stretch, but hear me out! What if there was an emergency or dangerous situation in the classroom, like a fire or intruder? If you're spaced out on your phone, you might miss life-saving instructions or alerts. Teachers always tell us to stay aware of our surroundings. Using phones prevents that. Those are my top reasons for thinking phones just don't belong in college classrooms during lessons. But wait, there's more!I've heard some arguments that try to justify using phones in class, but I think they're pretty silly:"I use my phone to take notes and look things up."Really? You can't just use a laptop or notebook like a normal person? There are so many better ways to do that without the distractions of a phone. Nice try, though!"The professor said we're allowed to use phones."Okay, but just because you're allowed to do something doesn't mean you should. Professors probably only say that because they know college kids will just ignore rules about phones anyway. Doesn't make it right!"I'm an adult, you can't tell me what to do!"Being an adult means making smart, responsible choices - not just doing whatever you want with no self-control. Using your phone at inappropriate times is immature and shows you can't manage your own behaviour. Kinda sad, really. At the end of the day, college students should be way more considerate about using their phones in class. They're supposed to be role models for kids like me! Hear me out:Put your phone away and focus. Listen to your teachers and take good notes. Participate in discussions and actually learn stuff. Ask questions if you're confused instead of googling it. Seriously, you're paying a ton for this education - get your money's worth!Let's make not using phones in class the new cool thing to do. Then when I'm older and finally make it to college myself, maybe I can start some good phone-free habits too. It's awin-win for students and teachers!Anyway, that's just my take as a elementary kid. What do you think? Should phones be banned in college classes or not? I'd love to hear your opinion!篇2Using Phones in Class is Really Silly!Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. I'm in 3rd grade and I go to Oakdale Elementary School. My teacher Mrs. Johnson is really nice but she gets super annoyed when kids use their phones during class. I don't really get why anyone would even want to use their phone instead of paying attention! In my opinion, using phones in the classroom is really silly. There's so much cool stuff to learn about and so many fun activities we get to do. Why would you want to miss out on that just to play games or text your friends? That makes zero sense to me.I remember one time, we were learning about dinosaurs which is pretty much the coolest thing ever. We got to make dioramas of the different time periods and environments they lived in. While we were working on them, I looked over and saw Billy playing Pokemon Go under his desk! Can you believe that? We were making awesome dinosaur dioramas andhe was just staring at his phone catching make-believe creatures. So ridiculous!Another time, we had a guest speaker come in to talk to us about her job as a zookeeper. She brought in some really neat animal artifacts and told us all these crazy stories about taking care of lions and elephants. It was so interesting! But a bunch of kids weren't even paying attention because their faces were glued to their phones. How rude is that?I just don't understand the appeal of being on your phone when there are so many amazing things happening in the classroom. Don't get me wrong, I like playing games andwatching videos as much as the next kid. But there's a time and a place for that kind of thing. School is for learning, not zoning out on your phone.Whenever I've asked friends who are constant phone users what's so great about it, they don't really have good explanations. They're usually just like "It's fun" or "I get bored." Well, I think learning about ancient civilizations and doing cool experiments is a million times more fun than any phone game or chat. And if you're bored, then you're just not paying attention!I've heard some kids say they use their phones because taking notes on paper is too hard or takes too long. That's just lazy if you ask me. Writing stuff down helps you learn it better anyway. Sure, it's easier to type notes, but what's the point of even being in class then? You might as well just stay home and look stuff up online if you're gonna be on your phone the whole time.I know some people might say "Well, phones have educational apps and games, so they can actually help you learn." That's true, I guess. But I've never seen a kid playing an educational app during class. It's always stuff like Snapchat, YouTube, games, you name it. Not exactly brain fuel if you ask me.My parents have warned me that phone addiction is a real issue, especially for kids my age. They say getting in the habit of constantly being on your phone means you have a hard time paying attention and focusing. You start to lose your creativity and curiosity about the world around you. That doesn't sound fun at all! I want to be curious and creative and learn all the things.Maybe I'll feel differently about phones in the classroom when I'm older. But for now, I think it's just a big waste of time. A classroom is a place for engaging your mind, not zoning out and missing every single thing the teacher says. When I'm in class, you can bet I'm gonna be listening, participating, and absorbing all the knowledge I can. Phones can wait until after school! So in conclusion, using phones during class time just seems really silly and pointless to me. They're distracting, they make it hard to pay attention, and they cause you to miss out on all the awesome learning opportunities right in front of you. Sure, they're fun for games and chatting with friends. But that's what recess and after school is for! During class, it's time to put the phones away and soak in some knowledge. At least, that's how I see it. I'm just an 8-year-old kid, what do I know? Those are just my thoughts! Thanks for reading!篇3University Students and Their Phones in Class: A Kid's ViewHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. My teacher Mrs. Robinson asked us to write about something we've noticed that older kids do. I decided to write about how university students always seem to be on their phones during class!I see this a lot when my mom takes me to the university where she works. We'll be walking around campus and I'll peek into the big lecture halls. There are all these grown-ups, like 20 years old or more, just staring at their phones instead of paying attention! The professor is talking but hardly anyone is looking at them.I remember one time we stopped outside this huge classroom to wait for my mom's friend. Through the windows, I could see the teacher writing on the board and pointing at diagrams. But at least half the students had their heads bent over their laps, clearly texting or playing games on their phones under the desks! A couple kids even had their phones out right on the desks in front of them, not even trying to hide it. The teacher didn't seem to notice or care. It's just so weird to me. When I'm in class at elementary school, we're never allowed to have our phones or tablets out. We have to keep them zipped up in our backpacks or cubby holes. If a kid gets caught with their phone, the teacher takes it away until the end of the day. We're supposed to be focusing and listening to the lesson. That's what school is for!I don't really get why university is so different. Isn't the point of going to class to learn from your teachers? Aren't you supposed to pay attention so you understand everything? If the students are just going to be on their phones the whole time, ignoring the professor, why even go to class? Seems like a waste of money to me.Plus, being on your phone that much during class seems really rude to the teacher. They worked hard to prepare the lesson and make videos or slides. Then students just completely ignore it to scroll on Instagram or chat with friends! If I acted like that in Mrs. Robinson's class, she would be so disappointed in me. My parents taught me to have better manners than that.I can kind of understand taking notes or looking something up quickly on your phone related to the lecture topic. Sometimes kids in my class need to use the classroom tablet to find facts for a project. But just zoning out and goofing around on apps? Howdo university students ever get anything done or learn anything new?Maybe university students are just so cool and mature that they don't need to listen in class. Perhaps they already know everything being taught. Or maybe they're all just excellent multi-taskers who can split their focus between the lecture and their phones perfectly. I sure can't do that - I get way too distracted and end up missing important stuff whenever I try to use my tablet and listen at the same time.Either way, it's still pretty inconsiderate to the professor and other students who are actually trying to pay attention. What if you start giggling at a meme you found and disrupting everyone? Or if your phone rings loudly in the middle of class? That's got to be embarrassing and annoying for the people around you who are there to learn.I wonder if university professors ever get mad about students being on their phones so much. At my school, we have to follow rules about no phones in class or we get in trouble. Do professors just not care as long as you don't cause a ruckus? Or do they try to lay down rules that students simply ignore? I'd be upset if I was working hard to teach a class and nobody cared enough to listen.I guess when you get to university, you're seen more as an adult who can make your own choices. If you want to mess around on your phone instead of doing your work, maybe that's just on you. You're the one paying all that money to attend, right? Still, it doesn't seem very smart to me. Why waste all that time and money by not even trying?Whenever I see those students texting and zoning out during the lectures, I just think they must not care that much about learning or篇4Using Phones in Class? No Way!Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 9 years old. I'm in 4th grade and I love school! Well, most of the time at least. Sometimes it can be boring when we have to just sit and listen to the teacher talk all day. But I try my best to pay attention because I want to learn as much as I can.Speaking of paying attention, I've heard that a lot of university students have a hard time doing that these days because they are always on their phones in class! Can you believe that? Using phones during lessons? At my elementary school, wehave to keep our phones put away or they get taken away by the teacher. I think universities should have the same rule.I just don't understand why university students would want to be on their phones instead of listening to their professors teach. Don't they want to learn cool, new things? When I'm older and in university, I'm going to be a model student who never touches my phone in class. I'll be taking tons of notes and asking lots of questions so I can understand everything.I guess I can kind of see why some students might use their phones though. Maybe they get bored easily like I sometimes do. Or maybe they are trying to multitask and do other things at the same time as listening to the lecture. I've seen my older sister seemingly paying attention to things while actually be texting with her friends. It's sneaky! However, I still think being on your phone in class is a bad idea. How can you really focus on understanding what's being taught if you're splitting your attention between your phone and the lesson? I know I couldn't do it. My brain would just get too confused trying to do two things at once. I'd end up learning nothing! And can you imagine what it must be like for the university professors teaching classes where everyone is on their phones?I'd be so upset if I was giving a important lecture and nobody was paying any attention to me. I'd feel really disrespected. Teachers work so hard to prepare lessons and help students learn. The least students can do is give them their full focus and attention for the hour or two they're in class.I've also heard that sometimes university students even watch shows or play games on their phones during class time! Now that's just taking it way too far. Could you see me pulling out my Nintendo Switch and playing Mario Kart instead of doing my math worksheet? No way! My teacher would be so mad. And I'd be missing out on learning important stuff that I'll need to know to eventually become a physicist and build ultra-fast spaceships to travel across the galaxy. Maybe students who play games during lectures just don't care about learning. Well I care!Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying phones can never be used for educational purposes in university. I can imagine there might be some lectures where students need to look up extra information or take pictures of diagrams really quickly on their phones. That's probably fine as long as they go right back to paying full attention afterwards. Using phones to enhance and support learning is one thing, but just using themfor fun and games during important class time is totally different! So in conclusion, I really think universities need to crack down more on students being on their phones in class instead of listening. It's just rude and disrespectful to instructors, and it almost certainly means those students aren't learning as much as they could be. Universities shouldn't be places for slacking off and goofing around on phones. They should be environments where everyone is engaged, focused, and committed to expanding their knowledge as much as possible. That's what I'll be doing when I'm a university student because learning is vitally important! After all, how else will I become a famous inventor of crazy cool future technology?篇5College Kids and Their Silly PhonesYou won't believe what those big college kids do in their classes! My older brother Jimmy just started going to the university and he told me all about it. The professors are always getting mad because the students can't stop playing with their phones during the lessons! Can you imagine? They are supposed to be in important lectures learning grown-up things, but instead they are tapping away on their phones like little babies. The professors try to teach but the students aren't even listening. Their eyes are just glued to those little screens.Jimmy says it's like they are addicted to their phones or something. As soon as the professor starts talking, out come the phones! The kids start texting their friends, scrolling through social media, and even playing games right there in the middle of class. How rude! The professors get so annoyed and keep telling them to put the phones away. But the students don't listen. They just sneak their phones back out when the professor isn't looking. Sometimes the professor will walk up and down the aisles to try and catch them, but the students are super sneaky about it.Jimmy told me one time the professor got so mad that he actually took a student's phone away for the rest of the class! Can you believe that? Taking a college kid's phone just like they are back in kindergarten! The whole class started laughing at the student. I'll bet that student felt pretty silly.I just don't get it. If I was in college studying all those big important subjects, I would definitely pay attention. All thatmoney for classes and you just waste time playing on your phone? That's just silly! My mom says back when she was in college, nobody even had cell phones. They all had to actually take notes with pencils and paper and give the teacher their full attention. No texting, no games, no social media. Just learning! I can't imagine something so boring. But my dad says it's not boring, it's called being a responsible grown-up. He gets really mad when he sees kids ignoring their teachers to use their phones. He always tells me that you can never learn anything new if you aren't focused and listening. The phone is just a big distraction.I tend to agree with my dad on this one. Sure, phones are fun and all. I love using mine to watch videos and play games. But there is a time and a place for that. When you're supposed to be learning, you should put the phone away. It's disrespectful to the teacher and you aren't going to learn anything if you aren't paying attention.I really hope I don't pick up that bad habit when I get to college in a few years. I'm going to be one of those model students. Listening carefully, taking good notes, participating in class discussions. No phone distractions for me! Well...maybe I'llsneak it out just a little bit if I get bored. But just a tiny peek! I have to keep up my reputation as a good student after all. Those college kids sure are silly sometimes. You'd think someone pursuing higher education would be a little more mature about it. Phones are for playing, not lecturing. I'll never understand how they don't see that. Maybe once they get into the real world and get jobs, they'll learn not to be on their phones so much. Although I have seen plenty of grown-ups who can't seem to put their phones down either! At the end of the day, I guess it's just a bad habit lots of people struggle with these days. Phones are awfully addictive and distracting. You've got to practice having some self-control. If you can't even stay off your phone long enough to listen to a lecture, how are you going to function in a boring office job one day? Those college kids better shape up and learn to focus! Otherwise their degrees might not be worth too much in the real world. So that's the silly situation with college students these days. Maybe by the time I get to college, phones won't be such a big issue anymore. Technology will probably change and theyll be distracted by some weird new gadget instead. One thing will always stay the same though - if you want to succeed, you've gotto learn to concentrate! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go return some messages on my phone...篇6Mobile Phones in Class - Not Cool!Hi there! My name is Tommy and I'm a college student. I just turned 20 years old. I love going to college and learning new things every day. But there's one thing that really bugs me - when my classmates use their mobile phones in class! It's just not cool at all.In my English literature class, we were reading this really fascinating book by a famous writer from a long time ago. The professor was explaining all the deep meanings and symbolism behind the words and imagery. It was super interesting stuff! But I looked around and saw quite a few students just staring down at their phones instead of paying attention. How rude! Some were texting their friends with both thumbs just going a million miles per hour. Others were scrolling through social media like Instagram and TikTok. A couple of them even had their phones out playing games! Can you believe that? We're in college now, not kindergarten. Games are for recess, not class time.I just don't understand why they can't go a single hour without being glued to their phones. The professor is pouring out all his knowledge and wisdom, but they're just letting it go in one ear and out the other because they're too distracted. It's so disrespectful to the teacher who worked really hard to prepare the lesson. And it's not just inconsiderate to the professor either. It's inconsiderate to the rest of us students who actually want to learn! When someone's phone goes off with a loud ring tone or notification sound, it completely disrupts everyone's concentration. I've lost my train of thought so many times because of those distracting noises.Plus, it's just plain rude for someone behind you to have their bright phone screen glowing in your face the whole time. One time, this guy in front of me was watching a movie on his phone during our biology lecture! Could you imagine? I couldn't even see the PowerPoint slides because of the glare from his screen. No wonder he failed that exam!I'm sorry, but I just think using phones in class is completely unacceptable behavior for a college student. We're adults now. We're here to pursue higher education and grow as scholars and intellectuals. Phones are fun, I get it. But there's a time and aplace for them - and it's certainly not in the classroom whenwe're supposed to be focused on expanding our minds. If you absolutely cannot go an hour without checking your texts or snapping your friends, then you must not be ready for college yet. Maybe you should just go back to kindergarten where you can play games and watch movies all day! For the rest of us, we're here to study hard, ask questions, take notes, and absorb as much knowledge as we possibly can.We worked our butts off in high school to get into a good university like this one. We pay thousands of dollars in tuition every year for the privilege of learning from top-notch professors. So why would we want to squander that amazing opportunity by spending class time distracted on our phones? It just boggles my mind.Whenever I see students using their phones in class, I always speak up and call them out on it. Sometimes I'll politely ask them to put their phone away. If that doesn't work, I'll go tell the professor what's going on so they can handle it. Most professors have a zero-tolerance policy for phone use and will ask the student to leave the room if they keep causing a disruption.I'm sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but this issue of phones in the classroom really grinds my gears. We're in college now, not highschool. We need to start taking our studies seriously and showing some maturity. Unless there's a genuine emergency, those phones should be turned off and put away where they can't be a distraction. If you absolutely must send a text or check something online during class, at least have the courtesy and respect to step outside briefly and then come right back. And be as quiet and discreet as possible so you don't disturb your classmates or professor. See, it's not that hard to be considerate! So in summary, using mobile phones in class is an absolute no-no. They disrupt our learning, distract us and our peers, annoy our professors, and show a complete lack of respect. We're too old for that kind of behavior now. Let's be mature college students who value our education. Put those phones away and open our minds to learning!。

2016 年6 月英语六级考试(第一套)解析Part I Writing【参考范文】When it comes to the issues of living in the virtual world, opinions vary from person to person. Some people believe that the virtual world will enlighten us, while others worry that it will ruin our daily lives. As I see it, people are indulging too much in the virtual world through social networks, on-line games and virtual reality. With computers and virtual social networks becoming pervasive, it can easily be imagined that people’s lives will be absolute ly changed in future generations. There is no need for people to do hard and complicated work themselves anymore; instead, mass human labor will be replaced by a few computer programs. The increased use of computer programs to accomplish tasks will naturally isolate people and hinder communication between them. Consequently, people may be increasingly indifferent and cold-blooded towards others. As more and more people choose to live in the virtual world, it is time that we decided our stance on this issue.Part II Listening ComprehensionSection AConversation One【话题预测】根据选项中的market research consultant, design, promote products 等词可预测本篇对话与工作有关。

英语演讲我眼中的大学

the University As I See ItDear teachers and students, good afternoon!Today my topic is "the university as I see it ". As far as I see, different students choose different life style in the university. Some students' college life are very comfortable. They are skipping classes, getting up late every day sometimes even fighting. Universities are regarded as a place of pleasure in their eyes. There are also some other students. Learning fills their entire college. They live rich, full but dull life. I can 't go to an extreme like them. In my college life, I won't skip classes, but I may stay in bed late at the weekend. I hope I can meet my Mr right and have a romance. Although the life is so ordinary, I like it so much because three reasons, its fascinating landscapes ,the library and friends.I like my university because it's a beautiful place. Let's imagine the picture. It's autumn. The breeze makes the mass of leaves tremble and sway together in the early morning on the way to class. Walking in the tree-lined road, treading on the fallen leaves, listening to the sounds of autumn, everything lies in silence. In the classroom, you are learning with a cup of tea in your hand. The sunlight comes in through the windows. So quiet and pure the campus is.I like the university because its library. When I look at bookcases full of all kinds of books in the stack, I feel excited and expected. You can't calculate what a wonderful world you will find. Through the fragrance of ink and a little yellowed by age, I can feel the book has teemed energies and zeal that the author has his bosom filled with. I imagine that there was a reader who read the same book in the past.I like my university because I have friends in it. In front of them, I can laugh unscrupulously, eat ravenously. We treat each other sincerely. Life is a net, net house some people and things. Everyone in its crawl, explore your own way. Sometimes there is the company of friends, against big wind and rain without afraid, because we rely on each other. All in all, the biggest harvest in the university is the friend.Although it's only the second year in college, I have harvested a lot. Except learning knowledge, I've mastered lots of skills to get on well with other people. After these two years, I find the university is a place which provides a platform to learn. You can learn anything you are interested in. In a word, I'll make use of the school resources to design a road for my future career.Time flies quickly, and the happy time will past after all. I'll try my best to make the time meaningful. I believe after many years later, I'll miss the youth spent in the college and especially the smile on my friends' faces. This is the university in my eyes, and I love the college life very much.。

Good evening ladies and gentlemen:
It’s my great honor to stand here today, sharing with you my opinion about university.
On seeing this topic, the first question that came into my mind is: What indeed is university? In our childhood, most of us must have been lectured by parents to study hard so as to pride our family with a university degree. And in high school time some of your teachers must have pictured university as somehow a kind of paradise, free from thousands of homework and anxiety. Now that having been a university student in OUC for more that one year, I realize that university is not just about a diploma degree, n or is it a paradise. It’s more like a bridge that lead us from g eneral to professional, from family to society. It is an important journey in life that prepares us for the coming future.
At one hand, we get prepared in our professional knowledge in university. Take my experience for example. As an accounting major student I have been better educated about the things relevant to accounting, such as knowing how to read a financial report, having an understanding of how the accounting policy will influence profits, and handling the finances of my own. I believe this is the magic that happens to all college students-----being empowered in all kinds of ways to be more professional. What is more, I sincerely believe that the pursuing of knowledge in university is not just attending classes as a daily routine like a robot. Instead a sense of proactive learning shall be cultivated. Thus we can activate our mind and learn more during the four-year-time.
At the other hand, we get prepared in our personality to suit the life in the society. Kant, one of the leading figures of enlightenment once said that the educational object is for life. No educational experience can serve this function better than university. Here we are far from the protection of parents, living with classmates from all around china, and being the agent of our own. We decide what to do in each hour of our spare time, how to spend our each cent, and try to deal with different people of difference personality. Thanks to all of these experiences we are empowered in networking skill and independence. It is these things indeed which stamps us as university man.
In a word, university is a journey that can equip you with knowledge and living skill.
It is undenying that there is a lot of temptation along the way, which may makes you get lost. We must resist them. It’s your university! It’s your life. Please live it!。
