状语从句

一、时间状语从句

时间状语从句常用的连词：

比较while, when, as

1) as, when引导短暂性动作的动词。

________ I stopped my car, a man came up to me.

2) 当从句的动作发生于主句动作之前，只能用when 引导这个从句，不可用as或while。

________ you have fini shed your work, you may have a rest.

3) 从句表示"随时间推移"连词能用as,不用when或while。, the weather got worse.

日子一天天过去，天气越变越坏

(4) When:表示时间点，还可以表原因，译作“既然”。还可以翻译成突然

While :表示时间段，还可以用来表示对比翻译成“而”。While放在句首要翻译成“尽管”

引导让步状语从句。

有一些表示时间的名词短语也可用来引导时间状语从句

有一些表示时间的副词也可用来引导时间状语从句:

until 和not …until 的区别

Un til要与延续性动词连用。

not…until要与非延续性动词连用

1. Un til 句子翻译成 ________________________________________ 。

2. Not…until句子要翻译_______________________________________ 。

I slept _________ 12 o ' clock.

我睡觉睡到12点。

We __________ g et dow n to worki ng ___________ Ms Zhang came in.

我们直到张老师进来才开始认真的工作。

I had hardly / scarcely got home whe n it bega n to rain.

I had no sooner got home tha n it bega n to rain. As soon as I got home, it bega n to rain.

注意：如果 hardly, scarcely 或 no sooner 置于句首，句子必须用倒装结构 :

Hardly / Scarcely _____________________ whe n it bega n to rai n.

我一回到家就开始下雨。

、地点状语从句

地点状语从句常常由 __________ 来引导。

________________is a will, _______ is a way. 有志者事竟成 三、原因状语从句

比较： because, since, aS 和 for

1） because 语势最强，用来说明人所不知的原因，回答

why 提出的问题。当原因是显而 易见的或已为人们所知，就用 as 或sinceb

I did n't go, ________ I was afraid.

__________ the weather is so bad, we have to delay our journ ey.

2）由because 引导的从句如果放在句末，且前面有逗

号，则可以用for 来代替。但如果不 是说明直接原因，而是多种情况加以推断，就只能用 for 。

He is abse nt today, _______ h e is ill.

He must be ill, ______ he is abse nt today.

（3）because 和so 不能同用在一个句子里。

四、条件状语从句

① ___ he is not in the office, he _________ out for lun ch.

如果他不在办公室，他一定在外面吃午饭。

② You may borrow the book __________________ y ou keep it clea n.

只要你能保持书的干净，我就可以借给你。

③ So far as I know （据我所知）,he will be away for three Mon ths.

④ You can go swimming ___________________ you don ' t go too far away from the river bank. 你能去游泳的条件是不能游离河边太远

五、 目的状语从句

禾口 as soon 都可以表示

…就…"的意思,

①Speak clearly, _________ they may un dersta nd you.

说清楚，好让他们明白你的意思。

②She has bought the book _______________ she could follow the TV less ons. 她借书是为了能跟上电视课程。

③He left early ___________ he should miss the trai n.

他早早离开以防错过了火车。

六、结果状语从句

She was ill, __________ she didn ' t attend the meeting.

她病了，所以不能参加会议

He was _____ excited _______ he could not say a word.

他激动得说不出话了。

She is ______ a good teacher _______ every one admires her.

她是个好老师，所有人都尊敬她。

比较：so禾口such

其规律由so与such的不同词性决定。

such 是_______词，修饰_______ 词或______ 词组，

so是_________词，只能修饰________ 词或______ 词。

七、比较状语从句
