OneBirds are famous for carrying things around. Some, like homing pigeons, can be trained to deliver messages and packages.Other birds unknowingly carry seeds that cling to them for the ride.Canadian scientists have found a worrisome, new example of the power that birds have to spread stuff around.Way up north in the Canadian Arctic, seabirds are picking up dangerous chemicals in the ocean and delivering them to ponds near where the birds live. Some 10,000 pairs of the birds, called fulmars, a kind of Arctic seabird, make their nests on Devon Island, north of the Arctic Circle. The fulmars travel some 400 kilometers over the sea to find food. When they return home, their droppings end up all around their nesting sites, including in nearby ponds.Previously, scientists noticed pollutants arriving in the Arctic with the wind.Salmon also carry dangerous chemicals as the fish migrate between rivers and the sea.The bodies of fish and other meat-eaters can build up high levels of the chemicals. To test the polluting power of fulmars, researchers collected samples of deposit from 11 ponds on Devon Island. In ponds closest to the colony, the results showed there were far more pollutants than in ponds less affected by the birds. The pollutants in the ponds appear to come from fish that fulmars eat when they're out on the ocean.People who live, hunt, or fish near bird colonies need to be careful, the researchers say.The birds don't mean to cause harm, but the chemicals they carry can cause major problems.Questions 9 to 12 are based on the passage you have just TwoIn recent years, the death rate among American centenarians—people who have lived to age 100 or older— has decreased, dropping 14 percent for women and 20 percent for men from 2023 to 2023.The leading causes of death in this age group are also changing. In 2023, the top five causes of death for centenarians were heart disease, stroke, flu, cancer and Alzheimer's disease. But by 2023, the death rate from Alzheimer's disease for this age group had more than doubled—increasing from 3.8 percent to 8.5 percent—making the progressive brain disease the second leading cause of death for centenarians. One reason for the rise in deaths from Alzheimer's disease in this group may be that developing this condition remains possible even after people beat the odds of dying from other diseases such as cancer.People physically fit enough to survive over 100 years ultimately give in to diseases such as Alzheimer's which affects the mind and cognitive function. In other words, it appears that their minds give out before their bodies do.On the other hand, the death rate from flu dropped from 7.4 percent in 2023 to 4.1 percent in 2023.That pushed flu from the third leading cause of death to the fifth.Overall, the total number of centenarians is going up.In 2023, there were 72,197 centenarians, compared to 50,281 in 2023.But because this population is getting larger, the number of deaths in this group is also increasing— 18,434 centenarians died in 2023, whereas 25,914 died in 2023.Questions 13 to 15 are based on the passage you have just I think what we need to do is consider a definition.I'm going to define what love is but then most of the experiments I'm going to talk about are really focused more on attraction than love. And I'm going to pick a definition from a former colleague, Robert Sternberg, who is now the dean at Tufts University but was here on our faculty at Yale for nearly thirty years. And he has a theory of love that argues that it's made up of three components: intimacy, passion, and commitment, or what is sometimes called decision commitment. And these are relatively straightforward. He argued that you don't have love if you don't have all three of these elements.Intimacy is the feeling of closeness, of connectedness with someone, of bonding.Operationally, you could think of intimacy as you share secrets, you share information with this person that you don't share with anybody else.Okay.That'rmatio.tha.i sn'.share.wit.othe.people.The second element is passion.Passion is the drive that leads to romance. You can think of it as physical attraction. And Sternberg argues that this is a required component of a love relationship. The third element of love in Sternberg's theory is what he calls decision commitment, the decision that one is in a love relationship, the willingness to label it as such, and a commitment to maintain that relationship at least for some period of time.Sternberg would argue it's not love if you don't call it love and if you don't have some desire to maintain the relationship. So if you have all three of these, intimacy, passion and commitment, in Sternberg's theory you have love. Now what's interesting about the theory is what do you have if you only have one out of three or two out of three. What do you have and how is it different if you have a different two out of three? What's interesting about this kind of theorizing is it gives rise to many different combinations that can be quite interesting when you break them down and start to look them carefully. So what I've done is I've taken Sternberg's three elements of love, intimacy, passion and commitment, and I've listed out the different kinds of relationships you would have if you had zero, one, two or three out of the three elements.Questions 16 to 18 are based on the recording you have just heard.Questio.16.Wha.doe.th.speake.sa.abou.mos.o.th.experiment.mentione.i.h I am Elizabeth Hoffler, Master of Social Work.I am a social worker, a lobbyist, and a special assistant to the executive director at the National Association of Social Workers.Today we are going to be talking about becoming a social worker.Social work is the helping profession. Its primary mission is to enhance human well-being and help meet thebasic needs of all people, with a particular focus on those who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty. We often deal with complex human needs.Social work is different from other professions, because we focus on the person and environment. We deal with the external factors that impact a person's situation and outlook. And we create opportunity for assessment and intervention, to help clients and communities cope effectively with their reality and change that reality when necessary. In thousands of ways social workers help other people, people from every age, every background, across the country.Wherever needed, social workers come to help. The most well-known aspect of the profession is that of a social safety net.We help guide people to critical resources and counsel them on life-changing decisions. There are more than 600,000 professional social workers in the country, and we all either have a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, or a PhD in Social Work. There are more clinically trained social workers than clinically trained psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses combined.Throughout this series you will learn more about the profession, the necessary steps to get a social work degree, the rich history of social work, and the many ways that social workers help others.Later in this series, you will hear from Stacy Collins and Mel Wilson, fellow social workers at the National Association of Social Workers.Stacy is going to walk you through the step-by-step process of becoming a social worker, and Mel will tell you about the range of options you have once you get your social work degree, as well as the high standards of responsibility he social workers must adhere to.The National Association of Social Workers represents nearly 145,000 social workers across the country. Our mission is to promote, protect, and advance the social work profession. We hope you enjoy this series about how you can make a difference by becoming a social worker.Next, we are going to talk about choosing social work.Questions 19 to 22 are based on the recording you have just to talk about what happens when celebrity role models get behind healthy habits, but at the same time, promote junk food.Currently, there's mounting criticism of Michelle Obama's “Let's Move!”campaign, which fights childhood obesity by encouraging youngsters to become more physically active, and has signed on singer Beyoncéand basketball player Shaquille O'Neal, both of whom also endorse sodas, which are a major contributor to the obesity epidemic. Now there's a lot more evidence of how powerful a celebrity— especially a professional athlete— can be in influencing children's behavior. In a report published by the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University, researchers studied 100 professional athletes and their endorsement contracts. The team focused on athletes since they are theoretically the best role models for active, healthy lifestyles for children. After sorting the deals by category, they determined that among the 512 brands associated with the athletes, most involved sporting goods, followed closely by food and beverage brands.Sports drinks, which are often high in sugar and calories made up most ofthe food and drink deals, with soft drinks and fast food filling out the remainder.Of the 46 beverages endorsed by professional athletes, 93% relied exclusively on sugar for all of their calories. It's no surprise that high-profile athletes can influence children's eating behaviors, but the scientists were able to quantify how prevalent these endorsements are in the children's environment.Advertisements featuring professional athletes and their endorsed products tend to get impressive exposure on TV, radio, in print and online. And in 2023, the researchers reported that children ages 12 to 17 saw more athlete-endorsed food and beverage brand commercials than adults. One reason any campaign wants a popular celebrity spokesperson is because kids are attracted to them no matter what they are doing. We can't expect kids to turn off that admiration when the same person is selling sugar. At best, kids might be confused. At worst, they'll think the messages about soda are the same as the messages about water, but those two beverages aren't the same.If children are turning to athletes as role models, it's in their best interest if their idols are consistent.Consistent messaging of positive behaviors will show healthier lifestylesfor kids to follow.Questions 23 to 25 are based on the recording you have just heard.Questio.23.Wha.i.th.ai.o.Michell.Obama'.campaign?Questio.24.Wha.doe.researc.fin.abou.advertisement.featurin.professiona. athletes?Questio.25.Wha.doe.th.speake.thin.kids.idol.shoul.do?对话一男: So far as I know, this problem has been existing for quite a long time and possibly in our country alone. High school students are supposed to study hard, but it seems that few care what they really want. I just graduated from high school this year. While in high school I didn't care much about my hair style, but whenever the school checked to see if we had had our hair cut I always felt a little annoyed. If anyone forgot to have his hair cut to the required standard, he was sure to be reprimanded or even punished. I hope our high school can show a greater interest in helping students cultivate their minds than in picking holes in their hair.Once in a while our society seems to be interested in this problem too, but it is a pity that the students' own view in this matter is rarely consulted. That is why students often quarrel with their teachers, and this mutual misunderstanding is often detrimental to the students themselves. Most high school students do not really care what their hair style is; what they beef about is perhaps the constant check on their hair length. Why doesn't the Ministry of Education release high school studentsfrom this particular pressure? No wonder more and more youngsters in school are inclined to commit offenses. It is time to try and keep our educational house in order.过生日英语作文篇5Dear Li Hong,Next Monday is my birthday.I’m going to hold a birthday party at home in the evening. It will start at 7:30.Would you like to come?I’ve also invited some other classmates of ours and some of my friends.I live at Guangming Road. You can take No 23 or No 45 bus and get off at the top of Guangming Road. Then walk left for 50 metres. It’s a red house with a white door. You can’t miss it.I do hope you will come.Yours everLiu Mei过生日英语作文篇6On January 3rd is my birthday, my mother bought me a cake for my birthday, I also received a globe, watch two birthday gift, really happy! In the evening, I invited friends to my birthday, they sang happy birthday to me, I make a wish, cut the birthday cake, do game, this is a real happy birthday! 7Several days are my mother's birthdays, I want to buy the share birthday present to her, but, I do not have the money. Therefore I had thought means make money buy the gift again to mother, therefore I very early get out of bed delivers the newspaper, being on vacation from school period I to sort tattered in the morning. Very happy can buy one for mother to depend on the gift which completely my ability makes money buys. Hopes mother happy birthday!过生日英语作文篇8The hair style of high school students has been a controversial issue for many years. The prescribed plain short hair may look tidy, but the insistence on the hair length below the ear lobe in the case of girl students, which is fixed at one centimeter or at most two, is quite unnecessary. Until recently, the Mayor of Tainan had tried to persuade the Ministry of Education to give the high schoolers the carte blanche to determine their own hair styles. It is difficult for us to say if the idea is right or wrong. So far as I am concerned, problems of the young are not confined to such a small matter as hair style; what matters is the reinforcement of the students'moral consciousness, the way they should behave, and the like. The length of their hair or whether they have the right to give it a permanent wave is relatively unimportant. Cleanness and neatness is what really matters. There is hardly anything that stays unchanged all the time. Why doesn't the concerned authority reconsider this hair business? Maybe the bickerings that sour the relations between the military instructors and their students will therefore be gone. By the way, to improve one's appearance is nothing wrong, is it? We all expect to see a new look of the young. Maybe a change in the concerned authority's policy toward the high schoolers'hair style will bring this about.过生日英语作文篇9The birthdayToday is my birthday, I'm going to let my father bought me a birthday cake, but he is late from work, just bought me a duck, mom went to buy vegetables, also bought me some stuff, by the way, grandma said a white line you want for your birthday, my mother began to burn stove, let me put on the white line dept. head, then go to shooting, only listen spluttered pa... 动物,我们的朋友,初中英语作文

动物,我们的朋友,初中英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Our Animal FriendsHello everyone! Today I want to talk about our animal friends. Animals are amazing creatures that share our planet with us. They come in different shapes and sizes, and each one of them is unique and special.Animals are not just creatures we see in the zoo or on TV. They are our friends! We can learn so much from them. Let me tell you why animals are our friends.Firstly, animals teach us about love and care. Have you ever seen a mother cat taking care of her kittens or a dog protecting its owner? Animals show us what it means to love and care for others. They have feelings just like us, and they need our love and care too.Secondly, animals teach us about friendship. Have you ever had a pet? Pets like dogs and cats can be our best friends. They are always there for us, ready to play and listen to our stories. They never judge us and always make us feel loved. We can share our secrets with them, and they will keep them safe.Thirdly, animals teach us about the importance of nature. They live in different habitats and ecosystems. When we observe animals in the wild, we can learn about the delicate balance of nature. Animals help to keep our planet healthy and beautiful. We need to take care of them and their homes.Lastly, animals bring us joy and happiness. Just think about how happy we feel when we see cute baby animals or when we play with our pets. They teach us about love, friendship, nature, and happiness. We should treat them with kindness and respect. Let's take care of our animal friends and appreciate the wonderful world they bring to us.Remember, we share this planet with animals, and together, we can make this world a better place for all living creatures.Thank you for listening!篇2Animals, Our FriendsAnimals are some of the most amazing creatures on our planet. From the tiny mouse scurrying across the floor to the massive blue whale gliding through the ocean, the animal kingdom is full of incredible diversity. And you know what? Animals make wonderful friends!I've had the privilege of being friends with many different animals over the years. My very first friend was a golden retriever named Buddy. He was an adorable ball of fur that would greet me with enthusiastic licks to the face every time I came home from school. We would run and play fetch in the backyard for hours on end. Buddy loved chasing after tennis balls and sticks, his tail wagging a million miles an hour. Whenever I was feeling down, he would nuzzle up beside me, letting me know everything would be okay. Dogs make such loyal, loving companions. Then there was Whiskers, my childhood cat. Whiskers was a feisty feline - independent and aloof one minute, then curled up purring in my lap the next. She loved to lounge about in sunbeams and paw at anything that dangled in front of her face, like my shoelaces or keychains. Sometimes I would read her stories, talking in silly voices for all the characters. Whiskersnever seemed very impressed, but I liked to think she enjoyed the tales deep down. Cats make such entertaining, quirky friends. My neighbors had a ranch, so I was able to befriend many different barnyard animals too. The chickens were quite funny, constantly pecking at the ground in search of food, then squawking loudly when a perceived threat like a dog or tractor came near. I loved collecting their smooth, cream-colored eggs each morning. The sheep were very calm, slowly munching on tufts of grass and occasionally baaaaing at one another. They didn't seem to mind when I reached over and patted their wool, which felt like a puffy cloud. And then there were the cows - large, placid creatures with big eyes that always looked a bit baffled by the world around them. Milking them took some getting used to, but they were very gentle giants. At my grandparents' house upstate, I became acquainted with many outdoor animals as well. Squirrels darted back and forth, bushy tails held high, as they gathered nuts and seeds. Chipmunks scurried along with stuffed cheeks full of their latest treasure. Deer grazed gracefully in the fields, occasionally pausing to sniff the air. If you stayed still and quiet, sometimes they would wander quite close. Watching their huge eyes blink slowly and their tails twitch was mesmerizing. Rabbits hopped toand fro, their big ears shooting up at the slightest sound. At night, you could hear owls hooting eerily and peer up to see bats swooping through the sky chasing insects.By far, some of my most unique animal friends were at the zoo and aquarium. Walking through the reptile house, I stared in amazement at the bright green iguana basking under a heat lamp. Its tongue flicked in and out while its bulgy eyes seemed to study me back with curiosity. The tank of brightly colored poison dart frogs looked like it had been ornately painted by a artist - the frogs were so tiny yet vivid. Slithering snakes untangled themselves from the branches as I watched, both creepy and captivating at the same time. Over in the aquarium building, I was dazzled by the brilliant rainbow of tropical fish darting through the coral reefs in the gigantic tanks. Spotting a shark or ray gliding by never failed to make my heart jump! The bouncing penguins always brought a huge smile to my face too. Who knew those chubby little birds could be so hilarious as they awkwardly waddled about? My most thrilling animal encounters were definitely at the wildlife safaris though. Riding through the African savannah, I was able to see mighty lions lazing about, their furry manes tousled in the breeze. Massive bull elephants stomped along, using their trunks to uproot trees and shrubbery as smaller elephants trailed behind. My absolute favorite were the giraffes - such unique, towering creatures! Their long, knobby legs and even longer necks allowed them to reach leaves that no other animal could access. Watching their loping gait and placid expressions left me utterly charmed. So you see, animals make wonderful friends. They may not be able to carry on deep conversations, but animals offer companionship, humor, and the chance to appreciate the incredible diversity of life on this planet we all share. Whether covered in fur, feathers, or scales, each creature is fascinating in its own special way. By observing them, we learn about their behaviors, habitats, and the delicate balance of nature. Animals enrich our lives immensely - they comfort us, entertain us, and inspire our curiosity. So take the time to make some new animal friends! You'll be able to explore amazing worlds you may have never known existed before.篇3Animals, Our FriendsHave you ever thought about how amazing animals are? They come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny ants to massivewhales. Some have fur, others have scales, and some even have feathers! But what makes animals truly special is that they can be our best friends, if we treat them with kindness and respect.Let's start with our furry friends, the dogs and cats. Who doesn't love cuddling up with a warm, fluffy puppy or kitten? Dogs are known as "man's best friend" for a good reason. They're loyal, loving, and always happy to see us. They greet us with wagging tails and slobbery kisses, no matter how longwe've been gone. Cats, on the other hand, are more independent but still make great companions. They purr and rub against our legs, showing their affection in their own unique way.But animals aren't just cute and cuddly; they can also be our heroes! Have you heard of service dogs? These incredible animals are trained to help people with disabilities. They can guide the blind, alert the deaf, or even detect seizures before they happen. Isn't that amazing? And let's not forget about police dogs and search-and-rescue dogs, who help keep us safe and find people who are lost or trapped.Animals can also teach us valuable lessons about life. Take a look at ants, for example. These tiny creatures work together as a team, each one doing its part to build their colony and gather food. They never give up, no matter how many times their hillgets knocked down. That's a great lesson in perseverance and teamwork!Or what about the majestic elephant? These gentle giants live in close-knit families and have amazing memories. They never forget their friends or the paths they've traveled. We can learn a lot from their strong family bonds and their ability to remember.Even animals that might seem scary at first, like lions or sharks, can teach us important lessons. Lions are fierce hunters, but they also have a strong sense of loyalty to their pride. Sharks may look intimidating, but they play a crucial role in keeping our oceans healthy. Every animal has something unique to offer, if we take the time to understand them.Speaking of our world, did you know that animals play a vital role in maintaining the balance of nature? Bees pollinate flowers, which helps plants grow and produce food for us to eat. Birds and bats also help with pollination and seed dispersal. Without animals, our forests and ecosystems would suffer.Unfortunately, many animals are facing threats like habitat loss, pollution, and poaching. It's up to us to protect them and their homes. We can do simple things like picking up litter, planting trees, and supporting organizations that work to conserve wildlife. In the end, animals are incredible creatures that deserve our respect and care. They bring joy, companionship, and countless lessons into our lives. So the next time you see a bird soaring through the sky, a squirrel scampering up a tree, or even a tiny ant carrying a crumb, remember that they're more than just animals – they're our friends, and we're all part of the same amazing world.篇4Animals, Our Furry CompanionsEver since I was a little kid, I've always loved animals. There's just something so pure and innocent about them that makes my heart melt. Whether it's a playful puppy wagging its tail or a majestic lion roaring in the savanna, animals have a way of captivating my imagination and filling me with wonder.I still vividly remember the day my parents brought home our family's first pet – a golden retriever puppy we named Buddy. He was the cutest ball of fur I'd ever seen, and from the moment he bounded into our lives, he became an integral part of our family. Buddy was always there to greet me with a lick and a wagof his tail whenever I came home from school, and he was my constant companion during playtime in the backyard. As I grew older, my love for animals only deepened. I became fascinated by their behaviors, their habitats, and their unique traits. I would spend hours watching nature documentaries, mesmerized by the incredible diversity of life on our planet. From the towering giraffes gracefully striding across the African plains to the colorful clownfish darting in and out of coral reefs, every animal seemed to have its own special story to tell. One of my favorite things about animals is their ability to teach us valuable lessons about life. For instance, observing the teamwork and cooperation within a wolf pack or an ant colony can teach us the importance of unity and working together towards a common goal. The perseverance of a mother bear protecting her cubs or a bird tirelessly building its nest reminds us to never give up, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.Animals have also played a significant role in human history and culture. From ancient cave paintings depicting hunting scenes to the mythological creatures that have inspired countless stories and legends, our fascination with the animalkingdom has been woven into the fabric of our societies for centuries.Unfortunately, many animal species around the world are facing the threat of extinction due to factors such as habitat loss, poaching, and climate change. It breaks my heart to think that future generations may never have the opportunity to witness the majesty of these incredible creatures in their natural habitats. That's why it's so important for us to take action and do our part to protect and conserve the wildlife on our planet. One way we can make a difference is by supporting organizations and initiatives that work towards animal conservation and environmental protection. Whether it's donating to reputable charities, participating in beach clean-ups, or simply being mindful of our day-to-day impact on the environment, every little bit helps.Another way we can show our appreciation for animals is by treating them with kindness and respect. This means never participating in activities that harm or exploit animals, such as circuses or roadside zoos that keep animals in inhumane conditions. Instead, we should seek out responsible and ethical ways to observe and appreciate wildlife, such as visitingwell-regulated sanctuaries or taking part in eco-tourism activities that prioritize animal welfare. In my opinion, animals are not just creatures to be admired from a distance; they are our friends, our companions, and our teachers. They have so much to offer us, from the unconditional love of a devoted pet to the awe-inspiring beauty of a majestic creature in the wild. By fostering a deep respect and appreciation for the animal kingdom, we can create a more compassionate and sustainable world for all living beings to thrive. So, let's embrace our furry, feathered, and scaly friends, and let's do our part to protect and preserve the incredible diversity of life on our planet. After all, animals are not just a part of our world – they are an essential part of what makes our world truly篇5Animals, Our FriendsHave you ever stopped to think about how amazing animals are? They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and they're such an important part of our world. To me, animals are more than just cute and cuddly creatures – they're our friends, and they deserve our respect and care.I've always loved animals, for as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid, I used to spend hours watching nature documentaries, mesmerized by the incredible diversity of life on our planet. From the majestic lions prowling the African savanna to the colorful fish darting through coral reefs, every animal seemed to have its own special magic. As I grew older, I became more aware of the challenges that many animal species face. Habitat loss, poaching, and pollution are just a few of the threats that endanger their survival. It breaks my heart to think that some of these beautiful creatures might disappear forever because of human actions. That's why I believe it's so important for us to be good friends to animals. We need to protect their homes, reduce our impact on the environment, and treat them with kindness and respect. After all, they're not just cute and cuddly – they're living, breathing beings with their own emotions and personalities. One of my favorite animals is the elephant. These gentle giants are so intelligent and social, and they have such strong family bonds. Did you know that elephants mourn their dead and even revisit the bones of their loved ones? It's incredible to think that such a massive creature can be so emotionally complex.Another animal that I really admire is the octopus. With their eight arms and incredibly clever problem-solving skills, octopuses are like the geniuses of the sea. They can even use tools and change the color and texture of their skin to camouflage themselves. It's like they're straight out of a sci-fi movie! But it's not just the cute and cuddly animals that deserve our friendship. Even the creepy-crawlies, like spiders and snakes, play important roles in their ecosystems. Without them, the delicate balance of nature would be thrown off.I remember learning about the importance of bees in one of my science classes. These buzzing pollinators are responsible for helping so many plants reproduce, including the fruits and vegetables we eat. Without bees, our food supply would be in serious trouble. That's why it's so concerning that bee populations are declining due to things like pesticides and habitat loss.Personally, I think one of the coolest predators is the cheetah. With their sleek bodies and incredible speed, cheetahs are built for the chase. They can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just three seconds! It's mind-blowing to think about how perfectly adapted they are for their role as hunters. As humans, we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the natural world. That means protecting habitats, conserving resources, and treating all living things with respect. When we harm animals or their environments, we're not just hurting them – we're hurting ourselves too.Think about it: animals play vital roles in maintaining the delicate balance of ecosystems. They pollinate our crops, control pest populations, and even help disperse seeds and enrich the soil. Without them, our entire planet would be thrown into chaos. That's why we need to be friends to animals, not just for their sake, but for our own. By protecting and respecting them, we're ensuring a healthier, more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come.So the next time you see an animal, whether it's a majestic eagle soaring overhead or a tiny ant scurrying across the sidewalk, take a moment to appreciate it. Remember that it's a living, breathing creature with its own unique place in the world. And most importantly, treat it with the same kindness and respect you'd show to any other friend. After all, animals aren't just cute and cuddly – they're our companions on this incredible journey called life. Let's make sure we're being the best friends we can be to them.篇6Animals, Our FriendsHave you ever wondered what it would be like to have a furry, feathery, or scaly friend? Well, that's exactly what animals are - our friends! They come in all shapes and sizes, and each one is unique and special in its own way. From the majestic lion to the playful puppy, animals have a way of capturing our hearts and bringing us joy.Let's start with our canine companions, shall we? Dogs are often referred to as "man's best friend," and it's easy to see why. These loyal and affectionate creatures have been by our side for thousands of years. They greet us with wagging tails and slobbery kisses, always happy to see us no matter how longwe've been gone. Dogs are not only great companions but also excellent helpers. They have been trained to assist people with disabilities, sniff out bombs and drugs, and even search for missing persons.Cats, on the other hand, are often misunderstood as aloof and independent. But those who have been lucky enough to earn a cat's trust know that they can be just as loving and affectionate as dogs. Cats have a way of making us laugh with their quirky habits and playful antics. They are also excellent hunters and have been known to keep rodent populations in check.Moving on to our feathered friends, birds are truly fascinating creatures. From the majestic eagles soaring high in the sky to the colorful parrots that can mimic human speech, birds never fail to amaze us. They fill our world with their beautiful songs and graceful movements. Some birds, like pigeons and falcons, have even been trained to deliver messages and assist humans in various tasks.Let's not forget about our reptilian pals, either. While they may not be as cuddly as dogs or cats, reptiles like snakes and lizards have a certain charm and mystique about them. They are amazing survivors, able to adapt to some of the harshest environments on Earth. Plus, who doesn't find it cool to have a pet that can shed its skin?Animals don't just bring us joy and companionship; they also play a vital role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. From pollinating plants to controlling pest populations, animals are essential for the health of our planet. Unfortunately, many species are facing threats like habitat loss, poaching, and climate change. It's up to us to be good stewards of the Earth and protect these amazing creatures.Caring for animals can teach us valuable lessons about responsibility, compassion, and respect for all living beings. When we nurture and care for our animal friends, we learn to be patient, gentle, and understanding. These are qualities that can help us become better people and build stronger relationships with others. So, the next time you see a furry, feathery, or scaly friend, remember that animals are more than just pets or wild creatures. They are our companions, our helpers, and our teachers. They bring joy and wonder into our lives, and they deserve our love and respect in return. Let's celebrate these amazing creatures and do our part to protect them for generations to come.。

Today we will talk about some food from Japan.
I think almost everyone have eaten Japanese food in the restaurant, such as sushi. So at first, I will say something about sushi.
Sushi, is a Japanese traditional food consisting of cooked vinegared rice combined with seafood, vegetables, and some fruits. There are a lot of types of sushi, but in common, all sushi must have rice. Sushi is often served with wasabi芥末and soy sauce.
The most famous sushi is nigirizushi and makizushi, like this. I think almost people know it.
Nigirizushi is hand-pressed sushi. The chef presses the vinegared rice into a small box between the hands, and put the seafood or some other food on the rice. In japan, the chef often put some wasabi on the rice if you don’t tell him.
Makizushi is rolled sushi. It usually wrapped in seaweed, and put seafood, egg, cucumber, rice in it. Then cut it in six or eight pieces to eat it. Because it is very easy to make, now people often put any food which they like in it.
Then, I will introduce another kinds of sushi.
First one is chirashizushi. I don’t know who invent it, but I think the inventor of this sushi is very lazy, because this sushi is just put some seafood on a bowl of rice. But in fact, chirashizushi is cheaper than common sushi and you can buy it in the convenient store
everywhere, so I prefer to eat it this sushi.
Next one is Inarizushi. Inarizushi is a pouch of fried tofu and filled with rice alone. It is named after the god Inari, who manage the grain谷物and she is believed to like fried tofu very much. So ancient people in Japan put the inarizushi in the temple of the god Inari, hoping can have a great harvest all year. Although Inarizushi just uses fried tofu and rice, but it has its unique taste, so a lot people like it.。
