Good reputation and satisfying salaries will always be linked with high risk and hard work, while security and relaxation related to boring and unchallenging experience. We all know that stock market contains lots of uncertain factors which make it hard for traders to make profits but much easier to lose it. However, a small portion of investors attain sudden wealth in this gambling market. Just as financial textbook says: High risk, high return. Look at another instance: the assembly line worker. Their routine work merely contains simply repetitive effort which is easy to learn but only worth poor salaries. There is no risk for them to take while no promising future to expect. 2014.05.10NA Some people think it would help students to learn if teachers give time for
discussion in class, others think that class discussion is unnecessary.
Now in many campus, most of teacher like to have a discussion on their class to make the class
flexible and interesting. Obviously, some people agree with this thing, because they think it will be
helpful to their children, conversely, others think it will waste much time to gain the knowledge.
For me, I support the former thinking.
To begin with, discussion will enlighten children’ intelligence. Discussion, by definition, is that
everyone make their own point about a specific thing with their partner, and then make some
suggestion about their point. It is a very good way to use their imagination and it is a brilliant way
to enlighten their intelligence. During discussion, they will consider a powerful idea to persuade
others, and then find some problem in others’ word to correct. Take Katy, my sister’s math teacher
as an example. When she has a English class, she will give them a difficult question at the
beginning of the class and let children to discuss at the end of the class. During the whole class,
she will give many clues to figure out the answer to the question. Finally, before the class was
even over, she will ask the question again and give children 10 minutes to discuss. At this time,
many children starts to say something they think is the answer and contradicts or correct others.
However, Katy does not give any precise answer about the question because her purpose is not to
get an correct answer, but to create a thought method. Until now, my sister gain many mathematics
award in out city or country and soon get the offer from the key middle school. Therefore, I think
discussing in the class can enlighten children’ intelligence.
In addition, it is a best way for students to improve their communication skills. Many students do
not know how to talk to each other. However, discussion can deal with such this problem. For
instance, my cousin was a very timid children in the past. He is unwilling to talk to people or he is
afraid of doing this. In order to help him, her head teacher start to have a discussion in the
beginning of the class. At first, she obliged him to discuss with his desk mate but he rejected. And
then, she talked to him than if he do not discuss with his partner, she will penalize him. After that,
he attempt to talk to his partner. Although he had not enough word to say in the first time, but he
gain the encouragement from his desk mate. Again and again, he did it. He began to make his own
opinion when they were discussing, and make him become a outgoing person. Therefore, I think
discussion is a best way for students to improve their communication skills.
To sum up, unlike other parents, I think it is helpful for student to have a discussion because it can
improve their communication skills and can enlighten their intelligence.
