One day, he drove it 20 blocks from his home and left it in a park. But after a while, the cat came back home.

The next day he drove the cat 40 blocks away. He put the cat out of the car and went home. After he drove back home, he found the cat was there already.

The man kept taking the cat further and further, but the cat would always get home before him. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past a bridge, then right again and another right, until he thought he was far enough from home and left the cat there.
