Cheng Yanqiu is a famous performing artist of Beijing Opera, a famous female leading role of Peking Opera, and the founder of school of Cheng Yanqiu. His representative works are Wujiapo, Queen Dowager Was Furious, etc. The singing style of Cheng Yanqiu is peculiar. He strictly adhered to rhyme rules, and with the development and change of drama plot and characters’ mood, the singing fluctuates up and down, and the rhythm is changeable. Meanwhile, it requires a high combination of “sound, emotion, beauty and forever. His performance is very meticulous and profound, and it not only pays attention to the integrity and beauty of stage performance form but also attaches importance to be close to the real life.

程砚秋是著名京剧表演艺术家，著名京剧旦角，程派艺术的创始人。程砚秋的代表作有《武家坡》、《贺后骂殿》等。程派的唱腔别具一格。他严守音韵规律，随着戏剧情节和人物情绪的发展变化，唱腔起伏跌宕，节奏多变，要求达到“声、情、美、永”的高度结合。他的表演非常细致深刻，讲究舞台表现形式的完整与美感，同时注重贴近生活的真实。

Shang Xiaoyun whose given name is De Quan and who styled himself

as Qi Xia. He is a master of Peking Opera performing arts who has a far-reaching influence in China. Meanwhile, he is one of representatives of modern Beijing Opera and the founder of school of Shang Xiaoyun. In nearly 60 years of stage practice, Shang Xiaoyun created the school of Shang Xiaoyun which adheres to “paying equal attention to civil and military, song and d ance, purity and freshness, freedom and decentness”, which has an extremely profound influence on later generations. Shang Xiaoyun’s art experience in his whole life just corresponds with the heyday of Chinese Beijing opera, so he isone of witnesses and participants of mid and late Peking Opera history.

尚小云名德泉，字绮霞。他是中国具有深远影响的京剧表演艺术大师，中国

现代京剧代表人物之一，尚派艺术的创始人。尚小云在近六十年的舞台实践中创

造出了“文武并重，歌舞兼长，清新英爽，洒脱大方”的京剧尚派艺术，对后世

影响极其深远。尚小云一生艺术经历，恰与中国京剧鼎盛时期相始终，是京剧中

后期历史的见证人和参与者。

4、荀慧生

Xun Huisheng is a great female leading role of Beijing Opera and the founder of school of Xun Huisheng. His given name is Liu Xiang, and his stage name is White Peony. He is one of the four top female characters. Xun Huisheng played more than three hundred dramas in his whole life, and his representative works are Yuanxiao Riddle, The Story Of Sue San, Qipan Mountain, etc.,

XunHuisheng and Yang Xiaolou, ShangXiaoYun, Tan Xiaopei are referred to as “three small and one white”. In 1927 and 1931, he was twice elected as “four top actors”, and he has a good reputation that “every female leading role can be acted by Xun Huisheng”.

荀慧生是伟大的京剧旦角表演艺术家，荀派艺术的创始人。号留香，艺名白牡丹。是四大名旦之一。荀慧生一生演出了三百多出戏，其中代表作为《元宵谜》、《玉堂春》、《棋盘山》等，与杨小楼、尚小云、谭小培一起称为“三小一白”。1927年和1931年两次当选“四大名旦”，有“无旦不荀”的美誉。

于魁智

YuKuizhi is a famous Laosheng-role of Beijing Opera, and he graduated from National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. YuKuizhi performed Generals of the Yang Family and Farewell to My Concubine which are two classic dramas in Liverpool and London in the UK. Through many years of continuous learning and stage practice, and on the basis of inheriting traditional Peking Opera singing, YuKuizhi absorbed the scientific method of vocal music in breath application and articulation position, digested them, and then formed his own free and exquisite singing style.

和伦敦演出了《杨门女将》和全本《霸王别姬》两部经典大戏。于魁智通过多年的不断学习和舞台实践，在继承传统京剧唱法的基础上，吸收了声乐在气息运用和发音位置上的科学方法，融会贯通，形成了自己收放自如、高低不限的演唱风格。
