AbstractﻫﻫIn July,2011,in the “Twelfth Five-Year (2011—2015)” plan on the developmentof postal industryissued by State Post Bureau of thePeople's Republic ofChina, the following“twelfthfive—year” development indicators wereput forward for the express delivery industry:thenetwork coverageof key express delivery enterprisescame up to 98% in municipalities and provincialcapitals,and over90% in provinciallyadministeredmunicipalities; and the key express deliveryenterprises realized the72—hourinter-provincialca pital andinter-keycityexpress delivery rate of more than90%,expressdelay rate of lowerthan 0。8%,damagerate of lower than 0.01%, and loss rate of lowerthan 0。005%.

The express delivery business ofChinahas witnessed rapid growth in2011. Up to the end ofSeptemberof 2011,Chinese express delivery companies (withannual salesofover RMB5 million) hadmade2.52 billion deliveries,up53.3%year-on-year,andharvested RMB53.14billion,a28。9%YoYrise,of which Chinese inner-cityexpress business revenue wasRMB4.67 billion, with the year—on-year increase of58.1%; the cross regional express businessrevenue rose37% year-on-year to RMB30。73billion;andthe international and Hong Kong,Macao andTaiwan business revenue was RMB13.57 billion, a slight rise of 4.9%from the same period of last year。

From Januaryto September of 2011, 1.125billion deliveriesweremadeinGuangdong,Zhejiang andShanghai,accounting for 44.64% of thenational business volume, andachieved RMB2

5.697 billion with a 48.36% share of thetotal business revenuein China.
