The result indicates the stress distribution and deformation instance. The stress is mainly produced on the joint of connecting rod shell and the bottom end or the top end. And the biggest stress acting on the connecting rod is just 34.0613MPa, early smaller than its limited stress 355MPa. INTRODUCTIONWith the continuously strengthening of the engine, the working conditions of the connecting rod mechanism became more complex. In order to study the mechanical properties of the connecting rod in the actual working conditions, the geometrical models of all the components of the connecting rod mechanism were founded with the CAD, the mass parameters were figured out. With using the software such as Hyperworks and MSC.Nastran, the crankshaft and the connecting rod were analyzed, and the model documents were created and transmitted into the ADAMS/View, and the fatigue stress brought by the eruptible power and the inertia force was analyzed with the durability model of the ADAMS/View software. From this we can clearly understand the stress-strain acting on each parts of the crankshaft and the connecting rod, quickly find dangerous position, and laid the foundation for the optimal design of the mechanism.II. FINITE ELEMENT MODEL ING OF CONNECTING RODA. FEM equation of model analysisThe goal of modal analysis in structural mechanics is to determine the natural mode shapes and frequencies of an object or structure during free vibration. It is common to use the finite element method (FEM) to perform this analysis because, like other calculations using the FEM, the object being analyzed can have arbitrary shape and the results of the calculations are acceptable. The types of equations which arise from modal analysis are those seen in Eigen systems. The physical interpretation of the Eigen values and eigenvectors which come from solving the system are that they represent the frequencies and corresponding mode shapes. Sometimes, the only desired modes are the lowest frequencies because they can be the most prominent modes at which the object will vibrate, dominating all the higher frequency modes.V. CONCLUSIONSThe connecting rod of the S195 diesel engine was analyzed with the Hyperworks and MSC.Nastran, and the result was very reasonable. So it is important for improvement of the design for engine connecting rod. The present authors have found many niobate and tantalate photocatalysts [19,20,25].Some metal oxide photocatalysts such as NaTaO3 show high activities for water splitting although they work only under UV irradiation because of their wide band gaps.
