A beautiful seaside city - Qingdao is a famous and important place for international trade. It is located in eastern Shandong province, across the Shandong Peninsula and facing the Yellow Sea. You can visit Mt. Laoshan, Taiqing Palace and the Xiaoyushan as well as the Zhanqiao, which is the No. 1 Bathing Beach. The distinctive cuisine, famous for its fresh seafood is a must during your trip. What's more, the Sailing Competition held in this city during the Beijing Olympics in 2008 makes it a major attraction.

No.1 Bathing Beach

Surrounded on three sides by mountains, the beach is like the pearl of Huiquan Bay. The gentle slope and mild waves make the place a comfortable play area. Visitors can sunbathe here and swim near the coast, relaxing by playing volleyball or running on the sand and even dining on the beach. The region's comfortable weather makes it a good choice to avoid the summer heat. Even in winter this place is crowded with keen swimmers. As one of the largest public beaches in China, it draw huge a great number of tourists in the summer months.

Badaguan Scenic Area, is a famous picturesque sanitarium area in China, located in the east of Qingdao city, Shandong Province. This place used to have eight avenues that were named after eight famous passes in China. Thus, it was named Badaguan, which means eight passes. After the People's Liberation, two more avenues were built in the area and there are now actually ten avenues. However, its name still remains the same.

Luxuriant trees growing along each avenue provide a pleasant shade in Badaguan Scenic Area. Moreover, there is a vast array of different flowers, which form a quiet, clean and beautiful environment all year-round. Each of the ten avenues has different flowers and trees. The flowers also bloom in different

seasons and give this area its other beautiful name, Hua Jie, which means a flowery area.

What makes Badaguan so popular is not just its natural scenery, but also its garden-like villas and foreign-styled buildings. Badaguan Scenic Area used to be a place where people from more than twenty countries, such as Russia, Britain, France, Germany, the United States of America, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Japan and etc., constructed buildings in each of their unique national styles. After the People's Liberation, the government repaired the entire area and its buildings, symbolizing Badaguan's significance as one of the most important sanitaria in China. Many leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and foreign friends of China have stayed here for rehabilitation or simply, for pleasure.

Qingdao International Beer Town i s dedicated to showcasing the virtues of beer. Originally founded as a venue for holding the annual Tsingtao Beer Festival (note that the Colonial Era name for Qingdao was Tsingtao, and since the beer stems from that era (Tsingtao Beer is a German pilsener that was originally developed and brewed by the German occupiers of Qingdao during the 19th century Unequal Treaties period), it has preserved its original name), the beer town has become a year round fixture where beers from all over the world can be enjoyed.

The Qingdao International Marina & Olympic Sailing Center is located at the former Beihai dockyard in FuShan Bay adjoining Wusi (May 4th) Square and DongHai West Rd. The Sailing Regattas of the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 as well as the 13th Paralympic Games were held at this location

The entire project consisted of more onshore than offshore work. The land based work covers approximately 45 hectares and includes the construction of many functional buildings and supporting infrastructures: Administrative and Game Management Center, Athletes Village, Media Center, Logistics Supply Center, National Sailing Center, Olympic Village, International Passenger Liner Terminal, International Conference Center, Five-Star Hotel, International Yacht Club, Seaside Marina, Shopping and Amusement Center (Marina Center), as well as some parks and public squares. The offshore work included the main seawall, the secondary seawall, the jetty wharf, Olympic wharf, and the retaining wall reconstruction.
