一、教材内容分析 本节课是新目标英语九年级第八单元第二课时。本单元围绕I'll help clean up the city parks开展多种教学活动,让学生学会使用“I'll ...”,“I would like ...”.等句型来回答别人的询问和告诉别人自己帮助他人的经历。本课时是一节阅读与口语的训练课,是在上节课学习了帮助他人的方式和大量的听力训练后展开教学的。通过巩固上节课所学的短语并进行会话练习,使学生学会给他人提供帮助,通过阅读训练,进一步加深对目标语言的理解和运用。增强学生的语言的综合运用能力。 二、教学目标 1.知识目标 (1)学习单词和重点词组。major, commitment, veterinarian, coach, elementary,plan to do sth ,be home to , after-school care center, put ... to good use, spend time doing sth., want to be ,set up ,not only ... but also ... How do you often help other people? How do you feel about helping other people? Then get some of the students to make several simple conversations. After that ,let two of them read small passages written by themselves. Step Two Reading some sentences and three small passages which are short for the article before listening. Then get them to listen to the tape and answer the questions. Step Three (1).Do you know the sign on the screen? What does it mean? The sign tells us to give our hands to other people, so it means volunteer. (2).Do you know IVD ( International Volunteer Day)? Tell the students that we're going to read an article about volunteer. Now read the article as quickly as they can and find out the answer to the questions: 1)Do the three students all volunteer their time to help other people? 2)How long does this volunteer work take each of them a week ? 3)How often does Lin Pei spend working in an animal hospital? 4)How does Li Huiping feel about helping other people?
