Additive 添加剂：为了不同目的（例如燃用高硫燃料时减轻低温受热面的腐蚀、沸腾燃料时减少大气污染和液态排渣中降低熔点等）在燃料中所加处的化学物质。
Adiabatic Temperature /Theoretical Combustion Temperature 理论燃烧温度：燃料在绝热条件下燃烧时烟气所能达到的温度。
Air Compartment 风室：炉排下部的进风室。
air duct 风道: 输送锅炉燃料燃烧所需空气的通道。
air heater 空气预热器: 利用低温烟气加热空气的对流受热面部件。
air leakage factor 漏风系数: 外界漏入锅炉某一烟道中的空气量与锅炉理论空气量的比值。
即为锅炉某一烟道进出口处烟气中过量空气系数的差值。
air leakage test 漏风试验: 检查锅炉炉墙及烟风道严密性的试验。
alkali descaling 碱煮除垢：在锅水中加入一定量的纯碱（32CONa）、烧碱（NaOH）和磷酸三钠（43PONa）作为清洗剂，在一定压力下进行较长时间煮炉，碱煮结束后放尽碱液，并用清水冲洗的除垢方法。
碱煮法对硫酸盐和硅酸盐水垢能起较好的松软作用，但总的效果不如酸洗法。
Alkalinity 碱度：水中所含能接爱氢离子的物质的含量。
allowable stress 许用应力: 按材料种类和元件使用条件而限定的最大许可拉伸应力。
一般由材料的有关极限应力（屈服极限、强度极限或蠕变极限、持久强度）与相应安全系数的比值中的最小值来确定。
Anti-clinker Box 防焦箱：装设在炉排两侧炉墙内壁上防止炉墙粘附熔渣的水冷集箱。
arch 炉拱: 在火床燃烧锅炉炉膛的下部，突出于炉膛内，且墙面向下的倾斜式或水平——倾斜式的炉墙部分，用以加强炉内气流的混合，合理组织炉内的热辐射和热烟气流动，以达到适时着火、旺盛燃烧和充分燃烬的目的。
按其所处位置的不同和作用的不同，炉拱主要可分为前拱和后拱二类。
Arch reforming 炉拱改造：对于火床燃烧锅炉为了改善燃料的燃烧状况使燃料在炉排上能够适时着火、旺盛燃烧和充分燃烬，针对燃料特性而进行的前后炉拱形状的改善工作。
As-fired Fuel 炉前燃料：运行时实际送入锅炉内的燃料。
Ash-retention Efficiency 排渣率：排出炉渣的含灰量与炉前含灰量的百分比。
Assisted Circulation Boiler /Forced Circulation Boiler 辅助循环锅炉: 除了依靠循环回路中的工质密度差以外，主要靠循环泵的压头建立工质循环的锅炉。
也称为强制循环锅炉（Forced Circulation Boiler）。
atmospheric pressure hot water boiler 常压热水锅炉: 锅炉本体上开孔或者用连通管与大气相通，在任何情况下，锅炉本体顶部表压为零的热水锅炉。
Attemperator/ Desuperheater减温器: 用水作为冷却介质进行过热汽温调节的装置。
Auxiliary heating surface 附加受热面: 敷设于大型锅炉对流烟道的内壁面，用以保护炉墙，同时吸收放热介质热量的受热面。
Available head 有效压头: 在运动压头中用以克服下降管阻力的压头。
即为运动压头和上升管阻力之差。
available static head 运动压头: 克服循环回路中的各项阻力，产生水循环的动力。
它等于沿循环回路高度，下降和上升系统中工质密度差所产生的压差。
BBaffle Plate 缝隙板/挡板：使汽水混合物流经挡板时折流以分离水滴的器件。
balanced draft 平衡通风: 依靠鼓风机压头克服锅炉风道的阻力，依靠引风机压头克服锅炉烟道的阻力，使锅炉炉膛出口处保持一定负压的通风方式。
Ball passing test 通球试验: 管子在经过弯曲或对接焊接后，用以测定弯曲处或焊接处管子的内径是否符合规定要求的检验方法。
检验时用压缩空气把一定直径的小球吹入管中，如能通过，则表明弯曲或焊接处管子的内径符合要求。
Banking fire 压火: 在几台锅炉并列运行时，因负荷降低而需一台锅炉暂停供汽时或对于不是全天连续生产的锅炉所采用的一种热备用停炉方式。
对于火床燃烧锅炉应暂停燃料供应，但仍需适当通风，以保持火床上的燃料有适量的燃烧不致熄火。
Bar Grate Stoker 横梁式炉排：用支承在链条上的横梁将炉排片串联或带以组成炉排面的链条炉排。
Biflux/ Reheater Superheater Attemperator 汽—汽热交换器：布置在烟道外，用过热蒸汽介质进行再热汽温调节工装置。
Bleeder 疏水阀（疏水器）：用以排除蒸汽管道中的凝结水或为给水管放水的阀。
Blow Hole 火口：火床燃烧时由于燃料层局部空气速度过高或煤粒过细，燃料层上出现孔口使空气从孔中短路窜入炉膛的现象。
Blow Off 脱火：由于燃烧器出口处可燃烧混合物的法向速度小于火焰的燃烧速度，使用火焰向燃烧器内部传播的现象。
Blowdown 回座压差：安全阀起座压力与回座压力之差，一般以整定压力的百分数表示。
Blowdown 排污: 为了保持受热面水侧的清洁以及避免锅水发生泡沫而影响蒸汽品质，在锅炉运行过程中把具有较高含盐量及水渣等杂质的锅水排放到锅炉外的过程。
排污分定期排污和连续排污两种。
Blowdown valve 排污阀：用以排除锅炉系统中含有泥渣、盐分和水垢的高浓度水的专用阀。
Blowoff pipe 排污管: 排走锅炉中含盐浓度较大的锅水，使锅水含盐量维持在允许范围内的管件。
Boiler 锅炉: 利用燃料燃烧释放的热能或其它来源的热能，将水或其它工质加热到一定温度和压力的换热设备。
微型锅炉：蒸发量小于0.1t/h的蒸汽锅炉，或热功率小于0.07MW 的热水锅炉和有机热载体炉。
小型锅炉：蒸发量小于20t/h、大于0.1t/h的蒸汽锅炉，或热功率小于14MW的热水锅炉和有机热载体炉。
中型锅炉：蒸发量为20～75 t/h的蒸汽锅炉。
大型锅炉：蒸发量大于75 t/h、小于等于1000 t/h的蒸汽锅炉。
特大型锅炉：蒸发量大于1000 t/h的蒸汽锅炉。
Boiler (slag) screen 防渣管（凝渣管）: 布置在炉膛出口烟窗处具有较大节距的蒸发受热面管束。
Boiler casing 炉墙护板：装设在炉墙外壁的金属板。
Boiler circulation 锅炉水循环：依靠水和汽水混合物的密度差或循环泵的压头使锅水在循环回路中循环流动的现象。
Boiler convection tube bank/Generating Tube Bank锅炉管束: 吸收对流热的蒸发受热面管束。
Boiler efficiency 锅炉热效率: 锅炉的有效利用热量（输出热量）与所消耗燃料的输入热量的比值的百分数。
Boiler external piping 锅炉范围内管道：规定接口范围内，即指进水阀、总汽阀和排污阀范围内，锅炉汽水管道的总称。
包括给水、蒸汽、减温水、排污、疏水、放水和放气等管道。
Boiler Forced Outage Rate 锅炉事故率：锅炉总事故停炉时数，与总运行时数及锅炉总事故停炉时数之和的百分比。
Boiler heat loss 锅炉热损失: 输入锅炉的热量中未能被工质所吸收的部分热量。
通常用所损失的热量与输入热量的比值的百分数来表示。
Boiler Operating Availability 锅炉可用率：统计期间内锅炉总运行时数及锅炉总备用时数之和，与该期间总时数的百分比。
Boiler proper 锅炉本体: 由锅筒、受热面及其间的连接管道（包括烟道和风道）、燃烧设备、构架（包括平台和扶梯）、炉墙和除渣设备等所组成的整体。
Boiler reforming 锅炉改造：为了改善锅炉的燃料燃烧状况、锅炉循环系统的安全性、锅炉结构上原设计的不合理或不完善因素以及提高锅炉操作的机械化自动化程度，对原锅炉进行的改造工作。
Boiler setting 锅炉炉墙: 用耐火和保温材料等所砌筑或敷设的锅炉外护体。
Boiler steam and water circuit 锅炉汽水系统：由受热面和锅炉范围内管道所组成的汽水流程管路系统。
Boiler structure 锅炉构架: 支承锅炉各部件和炉墙重量并保持其相对位置的钢结构组件或钢筋混凝土结构组件。
Boiler unit 锅炉机组: 锅炉本体、锅炉范围内管道、烟风道、燃料制备系统及设备、测量仪表和其它锅炉附属机械的总称。
Boiler water 锅水/炉水：锅炉运行过程中，在循环回路中的水。
Boiler water concentration 锅水浓度：锅水的酸碱度、含盐量及杂质的含量。
Boiler with Dry-bottom Furnace/boiler with dry-ash furnace 固态排渣锅炉: 燃料燃烧后生成的灰渣呈固态由炉膛底部排出的锅炉。
Boiler with Wet-bottom Furnace/boiler with slag-tap furnace 液态排渣锅炉: 燃料燃烧后生成的灰渣呈液态从炉膛底部的渣口流出的锅炉。
Boiling Crisis 沸腾换热恶化：蒸发管内壁面与蒸汽接触，不再受到水的冷却，管壁向工质的放热系数大幅度下降，使壁温急剧上升的现象，包括膜态沸腾和蒸干。
Boiling out 煮炉：为去除锅炉受压元、部件及水循环系统内部所积存的污物、铁锈及安装过程中残留的油脂等而在锅水中加入碱性药物进行的蒸煮工作。
Bottom supported heavy wall 重型炉墙: 主要由粘土质耐火砖和红砖砌筑，砖层较厚，重量由锅炉基础直接承受的锅炉炉墙。
也称为基础式炉墙。
Bottom-supported structure 支承式锅炉构架: 锅炉部件直接支承在横梁上的锅炉构架。
Box-type Boiler 箱型锅炉：下部为炉膛、上部分隔成两个串联对流烟道的箱形结构锅炉。
