A Survey of_Canada_Culture

This lecture tells us about the Canadian population, Canada's land area ranks second in the world. The geographical environment and climatic characteristics of some provinces, beautiful scenery and the number of people in the provinces. In Canada, they use English and French to communicate. Canadians drive on the right side. They use the Canadian Dollar, the capital of Canada is Ottawa, and the largest city is Toronto. Most of Canada is uninhabited by humans, so many animals enjoy large areas of wilderness to live in. Canada has many moose, elk, deer, Beaver, Cougars, wolves, bears, Pole Bear and Grizzly Bear Celebrity. And their national anthem.

Concerning Canada Culture, my interest is in Canadian War History and Wayne Gretzky, otherwise known as “The Great One”.

After many wars, treaties, disagreements, and more wars. Canada was finally declared a Federal Dominion on July 1, 1867. Three British colonies were transformed into 4 Provinces in eastern Canada. As the United Kingdom maintained control of Canadian foreign affairs under the Confederacy Act, its declaration of war in 1914 automatically brought Canada into World War I. Out of approximately 625,000 Canadians who served in World War I, around 60,000 were killed and another 173,000 were wounded.

Canada declared war on Germany independently during World War II under Liberal Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, three days after Britain. The first Canadian Army units arrived in Britain in December 1939. Canadian troops played important roles in many key battles of the war. Canada provided asylum for the Dutch monarchy while that country was occupied, and is credited by the Netherlands for major contributions to its liberation from Nazi Germany.

Wayne Gretzky, otherwise known as “The Great One”. He's very fast, in his hockey career he set nearly every offensive record possible. No one has come close to his amazing achievements, and no one probably every will. He is a wonderful person and role model for the young, and is beloved by every single Canadian.

Compared with Chinese Culture, Canadian culture is very different，Canada is one of the most multi-cultural countries in the world. Canada ranks fourth in the world in the acceptance of immigrants, so to a certain extent we can even say that Canada can be regarded as an immigrant country. This brings a variety of food, religion, artwork, and faces. In Chinese culture, Confucian culture occupies the main position，but Canadian culture is not that of only one country, but the best traits of all cultures in the world.

On the other hand，Because China has a long history, we have formed a lot of traditional customs, such as stay up late or all night on New Year‘s Eve, and people will go to relatives and friends to celebrate the New Year. There are also many special traditional customs in similar China. On the contrary, There is not much tradition in Canada, because Canada history is so short, and
