However, some fish and insects can stay alive in the freezing water. One key to survival is a special protein in the fish’s blood. The chemical is called the Antifreeze Protein, otherwise known as AFP and is commonly found in fish that live in cold waters. What does AFP do in these fish?First,we need to understand what happens when water freezes. When the temperature of the water drops below0C,tiny particles of ice start forming in the water. Each particle becomes larger and then sticks to other particles, forming blocks of ice. Fish take in this water and tiny particles of ice also form inside a fish's body. However, the AFP in the blood of the fish surrounds these particles, preventing them from sticking together to form bigger pieces of ice.The application of AFP is promising. For example,AFP can be used to alter the taste and texture of ice-cream.It can also be used to store meat and vegetables more effectively by protecting food products from the formation of ice.Another application is in medical field,as AFP can help preserve organs for transplantation without freezing them.Scientists have known about AFP for more than30years,yet few of the technologies that use the AFP exist today. The process of getting the necessary amount of AFP from fish to make products was only recently discovered. Some companies in the United States and Canada have already made products using AFP,but they have yet to become popular.Although some researchers in Japan discovered that some local fish contained AFP and succeeded in creating A FP in the laboratory, more research is necessary.AFP tests will continue for these fish out of the water.71.The Antifreeze Protein__________.A.is a kind of protein that many fish have stored in their bodiesB.is found in certain fish that live in extremely cold waterC.increases the freezing process of water in the oceanD.is the key to finding the location of fish in cold regions72.How does AFP work?A.It covers the small ice particles so that they remain separated from each other.B.It turns ice back into water by breaking down ice piece by piece.C.It allows the fish to find places in the ocean that have warmer temperatures.D.It forms a protective layer around the fish’s body, keeping it warmer.73.Why is AFP not widely used?A.It is only found in the blood of fish that lives in colder seas.B.The technology to utilize AFP has yet to be improved upon.C.The protein will not be safe for another30years.D.Countries such as Canada and Japan want to do more research first.74.What can AFP possibly do in the future?A.Make fresh fruits and vegetables taste better.B.Protect dried meat from being damaged by ice.C.Keep meat and vegetables from going bad.D.Help doctors freeze organs for transplantation;75.Which of the following statements is true?A.AFP was discovered more than three centuries ago.B.Few scientists are interested in continuing research on AFP.C.AFP can raise the temperature of any liquid.D.Scientists are thinking of a variety of ways to use AFP.Passage FourWhen a New Yorker was hiking in Europe, his Swiss friend kept saying“Listen to that!"but he didn’t hear anything. His ears were accustomed to loud city noises and it was days before he was able to notice the sound of a bird. For most of us,silence has become a rare experience. There is background music in restaurants, bars, stores, rest rooms, elevators, and when you are waiting on the telephone.Russell Baker blames“society's determination to entertain youwhether you like it or not.”People may say they yearn for quiet, but in practice they avoid it.They drive with the car radio turned up,switch on the television when they get home, and exercise while listening to music on headphones. The noise suggests that people have a spiritual problem. They can buy things in stores, but they do not l have enough human contact. So they fill their lives with sound. Sometimes the reason for the noise is primitive.Young men play their car stereos loudly in order to create a personal environment around them.Like animals, they are marking a territory to warn rivals away and to attract a mate.It may also be true that the brain itself wants excitement just as the stomach insists on food. 2021年河南专升本英语作文题目及解析

2021年河南专升本英语作文题目及解析全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇12021 Henan English Test for University Entrance Exam Question and AnalysisHi friends! My name is Lulu and I'm a 5th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. Last year, my big sister Jinjin took the really important English test to try to get into university. It's called the Henan English Test for University Entrance Exam. I helped her study for it and learned a lot about the test. Let me tell you what I know! The English test had four parts - listening, reading, writing, and translation. Jinjin said the listening part was pretty hard. You had to listen really carefully to conversations and passages, then answer multiple choice questions about what you heard. Some of the conversations were really fast! The reading part had a bunch of different passages you had to read, like stories, advertisements, and articles from magazines or websites. Then you had to answer comprehension questions about the main ideas, details, and vocabulary words from the passages. For the writing part, Jinjin had to write a short essay responding to a prompt or question. The prompt gave some information and then asked your opinion about something. Jinjin's prompt was about whether schools should have dress codes for students. She had to write a five paragraph essay giving her view and reasons to support it. She wrote that dress codes are a good idea because they help students focus on learning instead of what they are wearing. They also promote a professional environment. The last section was translation. You had to translate sentences from English into Chinese and from Chinese into English. Jinjin said the sentences used really advanced vocabulary and grammar points that you had to know to translate them accurately. The sample sentences were on random topics like philosophy, science, and literature, not just everyday stuff.Overall, Jinjin felt pretty good about most of the test except for the listening part. She said you really had to practice listening to different accents and fast speech to do well on that section. She was so relieved when she found out she passed the English test! That meant she could apply to universities for her major. My sister studied so hard to prepare. She took an English test prep class and also practiced at home every day for months. For the listening part, she watched movies, shows, and videos in English to get used to understanding fast, natural speech. My parents quizzed her on vocabulary words using flash cards. She read sample test passages and did practice questions over and over. The writing part was hard for Jinjin because she isn't confident in her English writing skills. She got help from her English teacher and also found essay examples online to study. She outlined and revised her practice essays many times. Translating those crazy sentences for the translation section was really tough too! Jinjin made lists of idioms, phrases, and grammar structures to memorize.I learned that studying for a big important test like this takes discipline and perseverance. Jinjin couldn't just review for a couple weeks before the test. She had to study consistently for a long time to get skilled in all the areas covered on the test - listening, reading, writing, and translating. It was stressful for her, but also rewarding when she succeeded in the end.Even though I'm just a little kid, I could see how crucial the English skills tested on this exam are for being able tounderstand complex topics and communicate ideas clearly when studying at university. The listening comprehension part prepares you to understand lectures. The reading section tests your ability to analyze difficult texts. Writing essays shows you can present coherent arguments. And precise translation between languages is vital for correctly comprehending source materials and sharing your own ideas accurately.I'm really proud of my sister for all her hard work to pass this challenging English test. She set a great example for me of setting goals, making a plan, and sticking with it through the struggles. I can't wait until I'm old enough to apply to university too! Then I'll get to take the Henan English Test and put what I've learned from watching Jinjin into practice. I better start studying now - it's never too early!篇2The 2021 Henan English Test Was Really Hard!Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a primary school student. I want to tell you all about the super difficult English test I had to take last year to try and get into an undergraduate program. It was called the 2021 Henan English Test for StudentsApplying for Undergraduate Programs. What a mouthful! I'll just call it the 2021 Henan Test for short. The 2021 Henan Test had four sections - listening, reading, writing and translation. I'm going to go through each part and let you know how I did. Get ready, because this test was no joke!Listening SectionOh boy, the listening section was really tricky. There were conversations between people talking about all sorts of things like shopping, travel plans, and school life. I had to listen super carefully and answer multiple choice questions about what I heard. Some conversations were kind of easy. Like one was just two friends making plans to go to the movies. But then others were way harder! There was this long conversation between a student and their teacher about a science project they were working on. She used all these big scientific words that I didn't understand at all. How was I supposed to answer the questions?!My ears were so tired by the end from trying to catch every word. Listening comprehension has always been one of my biggest struggles with English. I probably didn't do too great on this section, but I gave it my best shot!Reading SectionNext up was the reading section and this part was sort of ok for me. There were shorter passages about simple topics like holidays and hobbies that I could mostly understand. But then they threw in some really long and difficult passages about things like environmental science and modern technology.I remember one crazy passage that was all about self-driving cars and artificial intelligence. It used all this advanced vocabulary that I didn't know like "autonomous navigation" and "machine learning algorithms." There's no way an elementary school kid like me would understand that level of English! For the passages I could understand, the questions were straightforward enough. But for those super hard ones, I just had to try my best to pull out any contextual hints I could from the passages. Reading has always been one of my stronger skills, so hopefully I pulled off a decent score on this section.Writing SectionThen we had the writing section which was...yikes. We had to write a short essay of around 200 words for one of the prompts they gave us. I chose to write about the importance of exercise and physical activity. Now you know I'm just a kid, so you can't expect me to write amazing academic essays in English! I did my best to put together a few paragraphs using simple sentences and vocabulary. I tried to include an introduction, some body paragraphs, and a conclusion like they taught us. But let's be honest, my grammar was probably a total mess and I definitely didn't use any fancy vocabulary or writing techniques. For kids my age, just being able to write a short passage with proper spelling, capitalization and basic grammar in English is already pretty good. Anything beyond that is asking a lot! So I'm sure my writing sample was childish and full of mistakes, but hopefully I got some partial credit just for trying my best.Translation SectionLast but definitely not least...the translation section. This part was, without a doubt, the total killer of the 2021 Henan Test! We had to translate passages from Chinese into English and from English into Chinese. Talk about impossible! The Chinese to English passages used all these words and phrases that just don't really have any good English equivalents. How am I supposed to translate sentences about traditional Chinese philosophies and cultural concepts into natural English? There were so many places where I just had to guess or leave it blank. And then the English to Chinese passages were no better. They gave us these random pieces about British customs and European history written in advanced English. I could barely understand it in the first place, let alone translate it into proper Mandarin! There were so many cultural references and idioms that just don't map over between the two languages.By the end of this section, I basically wanted to cry. I know translation is an important skill to demonstrate English proficiency, but this level of difficulty was just ridiculous for a elementary school student. I'm sure my translations made no sense at all and I just completely bombed this section. The 2021 Henan Test Wrap-UpWell, that's my full rundown of the 2021 Henan English Test for Students Applying for Undergraduate Programs! In summary, the listening was really tough for me, the reading had some manageable parts but also some impossible sections, the writing was childish but I tried, and the translation might as well have been written in ancient Greek for how little I understood it.Even though I definitely didn't do amazing on this test, I'm still proud of myself for giving it my full effort. Asking a little kid like me to take a test that difficult just seems really unfair. I think the test makers must be out of their minds to expect elementary school students to translate academic passages between Chinese and English! Isn't that skill more for graduate students? At the end of the day, I'm just a young student doing my best to learn English. Tests like these are good practice I guess, but they really shouldn't determine my entire future at this age. I'd be curious to see if any of you could do better than me on a crazy difficult test like the 2021 Henan English Exam! Let me know what you think in the comments.Anyway, thanks for reading about my experience! I'll get back to playing and learning at my level now. Study hard, but also remember to be a kid! Bye!篇3The Big English Test for Grown-Up Students in 2021Do you know what the hardest English test in Henan Province was in 2021? It was the super important test that students took to upgrade from having an associate's degree to a bachelor's degree! This meant they could get an even better jobafter passing the test. Let me tell you all about the writing part of this huge test. The writing section had two essays the grown-up students needed to write. The first essay was to discuss something that sounds kind of boring to a kid - it was about the role that science and technology play in social development. But it's actually a really cool topic!Think about all the awesome technology we have today that didn't exist when your parents were little. Things like smartphones, video games, robots, and self-driving cars! All of that amazing stuff was created by science and technology. And it has changed how we live our lives in such a big way.The students had to write all about how science and inventions have made our world more advanced. They probably talked about important technology in fields like medicine, transportation, communication, entertainment and more. They had to use examples and really explain their ideas in detail. The second essay question was more fun, I think. It asked the students to tell a story about a special experience from their childhood that made a strong impression on them. So they got to write about a super memorable moment when they were a kid, just like you!Maybe they wrote about the first time they went on a roller coaster or saw a magic show. Or the first time they traveled somewhere really far away from home. Or even something simple but meaningful, like climbing their first big tree or catching a firefly. Whatever it was, it had to be a childhood experience they'll never forget. To write a good essay, the students had to describe what happened in a clear way that created pictures in the reader's mind. They also had to explain why this experience was so special and important to them. Not an easy task! After the test was over, I'll bet those grown-up students were exhausted from all that writing. Coming up with ideas and putting them into words in English is really hard work, even for adults!Just like anything you practice though, the more you write, the easier it becomes. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be taking a huge English test too when you go to university. By then, you'll be a writing expert! So those were the two essay prompts on the big upgrading test in Henan last year. Talking about the impacts of science and recounting a meaningful childhood memory. Pretty cool topics if you ask me!Writing those essays was just one small part of the entire test though. There were also sections on listening, reading, translating, grammar, and more. It was definitely a challenge for those students. But you know what? Challenging yourself and working really hard is how you get better at things. I'll bet putting in all that effort on the test made those students feel super proud when they passed. It's so satisfying to accomplish something difficult that you've been preparing for.Who knows, maybe one day when you're all grown up, you'll have to take an important English test too for work or school. Speaking, reading, listening, and writing at a high level in English opens up so many opportunities in life. The students taking this test recognized how valuable it was.So even though writing long essays in English is no walk in the park, doing hard things helps us grow. Kind of like learning to ride a bike or climb a really tall tree. It's tough at first, but then you get better and better through practice. Eventually, you're sailing along and wondering what was so difficult in the first place!I have faith that if you keep studying English, by the time you're in university or the workplace, you'll be writingoutstanding essays and acing important tests, no problem. It just takes patience, practice and determination. For now though, you can leave the heavy-duty writing assignments to the grown-ups. Just focus on having fun, working hard in school, and enjoying being a kid! Before you know it, you'll be taking big tests of your own. But don't worry - that's a long way off. Phew!篇42021 Henan English Test Essay Topic and AnalysisHi friends! Today I want to tell you about a really cool English test that some students took last year. It was called the 2021 Henan English test for students upgrading from junior college to a regular four-year university. The test had an essay writing section and the topic was super interesting! The essay question asked students to write about their views on online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wasn't that a great topic? I'm sure all of you had to do online classes from home for a while because of the coronavirus. Well, this test wanted students to share their thoughts and experiences with online learning. Some students probably wrote that online learning was hard because it was really different from going to school. Without teachers right there in the classroom, it may have been tricky to ask questions or get help. And not seeing friends every day was no fun at all!But other students might have said online learning had some good points too. They didn't have to wake up super early to travel to school. And they could attend class from the comfort of their homes while wearing pajamas! How cool is that? The test graders were probably looking for well-organized essays with clear examples and reasons to support whatever view the student took. Using lots of great vocabulary words and varied sentences is always important on an English test too.For those who felt online learning was more negative, they may have included examples of how it was lonely being at home all the time instead of with classmates. Or how lacking in-person guidance from teachers made it really hard to understand lessons sometimes. Technical problems like bad internet could have been another issue they mentioned.Students who preferred online learning could have talked about enjoying the flexibility to create their own schedules. No more missed classes due to transportation issues or illnesses.Maybe they felt less anxious learning from home versus raising their hand in a big classroom. Or they could have discussed saving tons of time by not commuting.Overall, there were good points to make about both the pros and cons of online learning. As long as students focused their essays, used specific examples or reasons, had a clear organization, and showed off their English skills, I'll bet they did a fantastic job!Phew, that was a long essay topic to discuss! Preparing for tests can be really hard work sometimes. But writing practice is so important for building strong English skills. The more you write, the easier it will get to organize your thoughts and express yourself clearly.I hope learning about this past test question gave you a better understanding of how to approach an analytical essay assignment. Just think through the topic from multiple perspectives, decide your main view, and provide loads of supporting details. You've got this!Tests will keep coming your way, but don't be scared. Face them confidently, work your hardest, and I know you'll do amazingly! Thanks for listening to me chat about that HenanEnglish essay topic. Get out there, study hard, and keep rocking your English!篇52021 Henan English Test for Academic Qualification Essay Topic and AnalysisHey guys! Have you heard about the English essay topic for the big Henan test last year? It was a doozy! Let me tell you all about it.The topic was: "If you could go back in time, what era would you travel to and why?" How cool is that? Time travel is one of my favorite things to imagine. There are so many fascinating periods in history to explore.I spent a long time thinking about where I would want to go. At first, I thought about visiting ancient Egypt during the time of the pharaohs. Can you imagine seeing the pyramids being built or walking among the towering statues? That would bemind-blowing!But then I remembered how smelly and dirty everything was back then with no modern plumbing or hygiene. Maybe a quick visit would be fun, but I wouldn't want to stay too long. Thatpyramid construction work also looked super hard in the boiling desert heat. No thanks!Next, I considered traveling to medieval Europe when castles and knights ruled the land. Witnessing an epic jousting tournament or huge feasting hall filled with lords and ladies would be amazing. But then I recalled how uncomfortable those times were too - the lack of bathrooms, much shorter lifespans, and constant disease outbreaks. I don't think I'd enjoy that very much either. After lots of debate, I finally decided my dream time travel destination would be the early 20th century when airplanes, cars, electricity, and so many other modern inventions were brand new. It must have been thrilling to experience thoseworld-changing innovations happening right before your eyes!I'd love to attend the 1903 Wright Brothers' first powered flight and watch that iconic plane soar through the sky. Or maybe I could ride in a pioneering early automobile model like the Ford Model T instead of getting jostled around in a smelly horse-drawn carriage. Bowling alleys, movie palaces, roller coasters - so much fresh entertainment was springing up too. What an exhilarating age to be alive in!Of course, there were still some downsides like World War I happening. But for the most part, the early 1900s seemed like such an energizing period of rapid progress when almost anything seemed possible. The whole world was modernizing at a dizzying pace. Just imagine how mind-blown people back then must have felt! That's an era I'd jump at the chance to experience firsthand. Those are just my thoughts though. What about you - where would your dream time travel destination be if you could go anywhere? Ancient Greece? The Renaissance? Or maybe you'd prefer journeying to the future instead? No matter what, getting to experience a completely different time period would be the adventure of a lifetime.Well, that wraps up my take on the 2021 Henan English test essay question. I tried to explain my pick for篇62021 Henan Upgrade Test English Essay Topic and AnalysisHi friends! Today I'm going to tell you all about the English essay part of the big test that college students in Henan Province had to take in 2021 if they wanted to go to a university. This testis super important because going to a fancy university is the best way to get a really good job when you grow up. So listen up!The essay topic was: "If you could travel back in time, which period of history would you choose to visit and why?" Can you believe they expected college students to write a whole essay about time travel? That's some crazy science fiction stuff! I would have picked going to see the dinosaurs myself. Wouldn't it be so cool to see a real live T-Rex? As long as it didn't try to eat me, of course!Anyway, the teachers who graded the essays were looking for a few important things. First, they wanted to see if the students could write a well-organized five paragraph essay. That means having an introduction paragraph to say what you're going to write about, three body paragraphs with supporting details and examples, and a conclusion paragraph to wrap it all up. Sort of like how I'm organizing this article you're reading right now!The graders also really cared about whether the writers used proper grammar, varied their sentences, avoided repetition, and picked descriptive vocabulary words. Basically, they wanted to see if the students were truly great writers in English. No simple book report level writing allowed!Another key thing was the quality of the ideas and reasoning in the essay. The best students didn't just say "I want to see the dinosaurs because they're cool." No way! They gave multiple logical reasons analyzing the pros and cons, perhaps discussing scientific knowledge that could be gained, the risks of changing the past, or the chance to observe evolutionary milestones. Reasoned arguments with evidence are what top-scoring essays had. Finally, the graders looked at more technical aspects like having minimal spelling/grammar mistakes, articulating thoughts smoothly, and sticking to consistent verb tenses. An essay with tons of errors would never get a high score.Does writing an essay about time travel for a major test sound hard? You bet it does! Knocking it out of the park on this English essay took a combination of creativity, writing skills, analytical thinking, and a great command of the English language. Only the best students who practiced a ton could pull it off.Well, that's my analysis of the 2021 Henan university upgrade English essay exam. I may just be a kid, but I tried to break it all down simply while teaching important writing lessons along the way. It was a crazy hard essay topic for sure, but I hopethis gives you an idea of what it took to ace it. Thanks for reading, and happy time traveling...in your imagination at least! The End.。

The fact is that family members provide over 80% of the care that elderly people need. In most cases the elderly live in their own homes. A very small percentage of Americas elderly live in nursing homes.Samuel Preston, a sociologist at the University of Pennsylvania, studied how the American family is changing. He reported that by the time the average American couple reaches about 40 years of age, their parents are usually still alive. The statistics show the change in lifestyles and responsibilities of aging (老龄化) Americans. The average middle-aged couple can look forward to caring for elderly parents sometime after their own children have grown up. Moreover, because people today live longer after an illness than people did years ago, family members must provide long-term care. These facts also mean thatafter caregivers provide for their elderly parents, who will eventually die, they will be old and may require care too. When they do, their spouses (配偶) will probably take care of them because they have had fewer children than their parents did. Because Americans are living longer than ever, more social workers have begun to study ways of caregiving to improve the care of the elderly. They have found that all caregivers share a common characteristic; They believe that they are the best people for the job. The social workers have also discovered three basic reasons why the caregivers take on the responsibility of caring for an elderly, dependent relative. Many caregivers believe they had an obligation (职责) to help their relatives. Some think that helping others makes them feel more useful. Others hope that by helping someone now, they will deserve care when they become old and dependent.Samuel Prestons study shows that______.A.lifestyles and responsibilities of the elderly are not changingB.most American couples over 40 have no living parents C.middle-aged Americans have to take care of their children and parents at the same timeD.elderly people may need care for a long time because theylive longer after an illness2.Who will most probably take care of the middle-aged Americans when they need care themselves?A.They themselves.B.Their close friends.C.Their children.D.Their husbands or wives.3.All caregivers believe that they can______.A.care for their elderly parents better than any other peopleB.keep closer to their old parents by this meansC.do much better if they have a job as social workers D.improve the care of the elderly with the help of the social workers4.Which of the following is NOT a reason why people look after their relatives?A.They feel they are of use to other people.B.They want to set an example to their children.C.They think it is their duty to help their relatives.D.They hope they deserve care when they need it.5.What is the main idea of the passage?A.Most old people live longer today after an illness than people did years ago.B.Many old people are put into nursing homes by their families, who do not visit them regularly.C.Most elderly people are taken care of by their families, who assume the responsibility for different reasons.D.Most elderly people are satisfied with the better ways of caregiving that social workers have come up with.7.I once knew a young man, nineteen years of age, who lived with absolute outward (外表的) confidence and self-possession for a number of years before I discovered that he could not read or write. His various methods of trick, which were also skills of self-protection, were so skillful and so desperate (绝望) that neither I nor any of his other adult friends were aware of his entire helplessness in face of written words until we went to dinner one night at a local restaurant—and suddenly discovered that he could not read.Even here, it was not the first time we went out to eat, but something like the second or third, that Peters desperationshocked me. The first time, he was clever enough to cover the truth. He studied the menu for a moment, then looked up to the waitress and asked her if he could have just a coke and a hamburger. He told me later that he had done the same thing many times before and that he had learned to act as if he were examining the menu: Then I ask for a coke and a hamburger. . . Sometimes they give me a hamburger on a plate with salad and potatoes. . . Then I ask them for a roll and make my own hamburger. As we began to go out to eat more frequently, Peter would ask to go to Howard Johnsons. I soon discovered the reason for his choice: The photographs, attached in cellophane(玻璃纸) containers to each of the standard items on the menu, could help him not to struggle with the shape of words at all. Howard Johnsons, whether intentionally or not, had provided the perfect escape for the endangered pride of an adult who was illiterate(文盲).When he went to a restaurant, Peter would______.A.pretend that he could not read or writeB.pretend to be studying the menuC.be desperate for help from other peopleD.protect himself by playing a musical instrument8.The young man was not found to be illiterate until______. Slowly, as she worked on the long list, she began to feel uncertain. She began to question some of her decisions. Had she used the best technique in that case? Maybe, in this case, she should have given one more test before operating? On the other hand, maybe she should have. . . Would the doctors on the selection committee understand that, as the only trained surgeon in the area, she usually could not get advice from others and therefore, had to rely completely on her own judgment? For the first time, Dr. Ginoux felt lonely andisolated. The longer Dr. Ginoux worked on the application forms, the more depressed she became. Or is intelligence developed by our environment and our experience? Strangely enough, the answer to these questions is yes. To some extent our intelligence is given to us at birth, and no amount of special education can make a genius out of a child born with low intelligence. On the other hand, a child who lives in a boring environment will develop his intelligence less than one who lives in rich and varied surroundings. Thus the limits ofa persons intelligence are fixed at birth, whether or not he reaches those limits will depend on his environment. This view, now held by most experts, can be supported in a number of ways. It is easy to show that intelligence is to some extent something we are born with. The closer the blood relationship between two people is, the closer they are likely to be in intelligence. Thus if we take two unrelated people at random from the population, it is likely that their degree of intelligence will be completely different. If, on the other hand, we take two identical twins, they will very likely be as intelligent as each other. Relations like brothers and sisters, parents and children, usually have similar intelligence, and this clearly suggests that intelligence depend on birth.Imagine now that we take two identical twins and put them in different environments. We might send one, for example, to a university and the other to a factory where the work is boring. We would soon find differences in their intelligence developing, and this indicates that environment as well as birth plays a part. This conclusion is also suggested by the fact that people who live in close contact with each other, but who are not related at all are likely to have similar degree of intelligence. If a child is born with low intelligence, he can______.A.not reach his intelligence in his lifeB.go beyond his intelligence limits in rich surroundings C.still become a genius if he should be given special education D.become a genius20.If we take two unrelated people at random from the population ( Para. 2) means if we______. .A.choose two persons with different intelligence B.choose two persons who are relativeC.take out two persons of close relationshipD.pick any two persons21.The example of the twins going to a university and to a factory separately shows______.A.the part that birth playsB.the importance of their positionsC.the role of environment on intelligenceD.the importance of their intelligence22.The writer is in favor of the view that mans intelligence is given to him______.A.neither at birth nor through educationB.both at birth and through educationC.through educationD.at birth23.The best title of this passage can be______A.Effect of EducationB.Dependence on EnvironmentC.IntelligenceD.Surroundings四、4.Cloze1.Earthquakes are something that most people fear.
