Teaching Aims

1.To be able to understand the new words and phrases:invitation,reply,forward,delete,print,sad,goodbye,glad,preparation ,glue,without,surprised,housewarming;turn down, help out, look forward to, hear from........

2.To be able to finish reading tasks by skimming, scanning, and reading the messages.

3.To be able to understand the information in an invitation and be able to express how to accept or turn down an invitation politely.

4.To educate students to cherish the affection between classmates and between teachers and students to build a united and positive class.

Teaching Procedures

Step1 warming up & leading in

Enjoy a short video and answer the question:

What kind of party are they having ?

A Christmas party.

Step2 Free-talk(2a)

T: Do you think the party is interesting ?

Ss: Yes.

T:What other kinds of parties do you know ?

Ss: Birthday party, housewarming party, wedding party, New Year’s party. T:New year is coming. We are going to have the New Year’s party in our classroom. What preparations do we have to make for the party?

Ss: Fix the time, decorate the classroom, prepare some food and drinks......

T:Don’t forget the most important thing: to make an invitation. If we don’t make an invitation, it will be a small party.
