Rotary Valves
The feed weighing/distribution system is a micro computer controlled automated feed measuring and conveying package that allows set amounts of feed to be sent to specific spin feeders within a Poultry building. The feed is conveyed from a silo into an accurate weighing hopper that is fitted with a load cell and motorized discharge valve. The hopper batch weighs feed into a receiving hopper and then an output auger conveys the feed to its’ specified spin feeder. Automatic valves positioned along the output flex auger length are used to select which hopper will receive that particular measured amount of feed. The weighing hopper measures feed in batches of typically 10-25kg followed by a final partial drop to achieve the precise set amount and offers excellent stability and accuracy down to 0.1kg.
Set Pen 1-8 (kg) – is the required set amount of feed in kilograms for the specified pen or feed outlet. This amount can be adjusted by use of the joystick and will remain unchanged unless the operator decides an alteration is required. The amount can be increased or decreased in larger increments by moving the joystick to the right twice. Setting a zero amount will cause the system to skip that particular outlet and move on to the next outlet that requires feed.
Last Pen Used – is set by the operator to restrict the last feed drop to an outlet other than the normal last outlet (outlet 6). For Example, if it is required to feed the amounts to the various outlets as follows:- Pen 1 – 0 Pen 2 – 70kg Pen 3 – 75kg Pen 4 – 0 Pen 5 – 80kg Pen 6 – 80kg Pen 7 – No Feed Pen 8 – No Feed then this can be achieved by setting Pens 2, 3 and 5 with the desired amounts, Pen 1 and 4 set to zero and Last Pen Used set to 5. For normal operation using all eight outlets this parameter should be set to 8.
Current Batch - records the amount of feed weighed during the current batch to the active outlet. This value is for information only and automatically increments each time the weighing hopper is emptied.
Pen 1-8 Consumption – displays the amount of feed delivered daily to each specific pen in kilograms. The values will automatically increase as feed is weighed to each active outlet in turn and will be displayed until the 24Hr Reset Time is reached whereupon each reading will be automatically zeroed. The readings can be manually edited by use of the joystick if necessary. To enable manual editing, the Special Function code in the System menu needs to be set to 8.
Start Cycle – is used to manually trigger the feed distribution sequence. The display normally shows OFF but can be momentarily set to ON by use of the joystick in order to start the cycle. The controller will automatically revert the display back to OFF and cause the Cycle Active parameter to show YES.
Reset Cycle – allows the operator to manually interrupt an active feed cycle if this is found necessary. The display normally shows OFF but can be momentarily set to ON by use of the joystick in order to reset the cycle. The controller will automatically revert the display back to OFF and cause the Cycle Active parameter to show NO.
