英语读后感作文:《巴黎圣母院》英语读后感

英语读后感作文:《巴黎圣母院》英语读后感The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, also known as Notre-Dame de Paris, written by Victor Hugo, is a French novel that tells the story of Quasimodo, a hunchback who falls in love with a gypsy girl named Esmeralda. This novel is set in 1482 and is one of Hugo's most famous works. As someone who grew up reading Victor Hugo, I had always wanted to read The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, and finally, I got the chance. After completing the novel, I was left with an array of emotions – I felt overwhelmed, sad, and inspired all at the same time. The main reason why I loved the book so much is because of theintricate details that Hugo used to describe the setting and characters. The city of Paris was vividly described, and I felt like I was transported back in time to 1482 when the story was set.Hugo's choice of words and his use of vivid descriptions made the characters come alive in my mind. The protagonist, Quasimodo, was first introduced as an ugly hunchback who was ridiculed by many people. However, as the story progressed, I started to understand that Quasimodo was a kind-hearted and compassionate person who simply wanted to be loved for who he was. Hugo painted a picture of a society that was quick to judge people based on their physical appearance, instead of looking at their inner qualities. The character of Esmeralda was also beautifully portrayed in the novel. She was a strong, independent woman who stood up for her beliefs, and was not afraid to face the consequences of her actions. Esmeralda rose above the stereotypes that society had placed on gypsies, and she fought for her people's rights till the very end.Apart from the characters, the plot of the novel was another aspect that I loved. The story had a twist at every turn, and I was constantly on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happennext. Hugo weaved together different storylines to create a complex tale that was both entertaining and thought-provoking.Finally, one of the main themes of the novel was the power of love, and how it can overcome all obstacles. Quasimodo's love for Esmeralda was not reciprocated, but he continued to love her from afar, even when she was sentenced to death. This aspect of the novel showed me that love is not just about receiving, but also about giving selflessly. In conclusion, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is a beautifully written novel that explores complex themes such as societal stereotypes, love, and loyalty. Victor Hugo's use of vivid descriptions and intricate storytelling made the characters and setting come alive in my mind, and I felt like I was transported back in time to 1482 Paris. This novel has left a lasting impact on me, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good story.。

英语作文井底之蛙寓言故事读后感

英语作文井底之蛙寓言故事读后感

英语作文井底之蛙寓言故事读后感The fable of the frog in the well is a timeless parable that speaks to the human condition in profound ways. At its core, it is a cautionary tale about the dangers of a narrow perspective and the importance of expanding one's horizons. The story goes that a frog lived in a well, content with the small patch of sky visible from the confines of its watery abode. One day, another frog from the great ocean happened to hop into the well. Marveling at the vastness of the world beyond the well, the newcomer tried to convince the resident frog of the limitless expanse of the sea. However, the frog in the well, unable to comprehend anything beyond its familiar surroundings, dismissed the claims and insisted that the ocean could not be larger than the well. This simple narrative encapsulates a universal truth about the human experience. So often, we find ourselves trapped in our own narrow perspectives, unable or unwilling to see the bigger picture. Like the frog in the well, we become content with the confines of our own limited worldviews, failing to recognize the vast possibilities that lie beyond our self-imposed boundaries. One of the most profound lessons of this fable is the danger of complacency. The frog in the well, satisfied with its small domain, is unable to appreciate the grandeur of the world outside. This complacency blinds it to the opportunities for growth and discovery that await. In our own lives, it is all too easy to fall into a similar trap, becoming comfortable with the familiar and resisting the discomfort of stepping outside our comfort zones. The fable also highlights the importance of perspective and open-mindedness. The visiting frog, with its broader experience of the world, is able to recognize the limitations of the well-dwelling frog's perspective. However, the resident frog, trapped in its own limited frame of reference, is unable to comprehend the vastness of the ocean. This speaks to the human tendency to cling to our own beliefs and preconceptions, even in the face of compelling evidence to the contrary. In a world that is increasingly interconnected and complex, the ability to see beyond our own narrow perspectives is more crucial than ever. The fable of the frog in the well serves as a powerful reminder that our understanding of the world is often shaped by the confines of our own experiences and biases. By cultivating a mindset of openness and curiosity, we can expand our horizons and unlock new opportunities for growth and discovery. One of the most valuable lessons we can take from this fable is the importance of lifelong learning and the pursuit of knowledge. The frog in the well, content with its limited understanding of the world, represents the dangers of intellectual stagnation. In contrast, the visiting frog, with its broader perspective, embodies the spirit of exploration and the thirst for knowledge. In our own lives, we would do well to emulate the visiting frog, constantly seeking to expand our understanding of the world and the diverse perspectives that exist within it. This may involve stepping outside our comfort zones, challenging our preconceptions, and engaging with ideas and experiences that are unfamiliar to us. It may also require humility, as we acknowledge the limitations of our own knowledge and embrace the possibility of being wrong or of learning something new.Ultimately, the fable of the frog in the well is a powerful metaphor for the human condition. It reminds us that our perspectives are often shaped by the confines of our own experiences and that true growth and understanding can only come from a willingness to step beyond those boundaries. By embracing a mindset of openness, curiosity, and lifelong learning, we can transcend the limitations of our own wells and discover the vastness of the world beyond.。

英语沙克尔顿探险英语作文读后感

英语沙克尔顿探险英语作文读后感

英语沙克尔顿探险英语作文读后感全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Shackleton's Incredible Antarctic Adventure!Wow, what an amazing book! "Shackleton's Journey" by William Grill really blew me away. I had no idea that exploring Antarctica over a hundred years ago was so dangerous and crazy! After reading this true story, I have a whole new respect for those early polar explorers. They were way tougher and braver than I'll ever be.The book is all about Ernest Shackleton's expedition to Antarctica in 1914. His goal was to be the first team to cross the entire Antarctic continent from one side to the other. Just getting to Antarctica was an epic journey that took over a month by ship, fighting through frozen seas and massive icebergs. I can't even imagine how cold and miserable that must have been!Once they finally arrived on the Antarctic coast, Shackleton and his 27 man crew had to haul all their supplies and equipment across the ice to set up their base camp. The descriptions of the freezing temperatures, blinding blizzards, and endless trudgingthrough deep snow made me shiver just reading it. I got tired just picturing them pulling those heavy sleds mile after mile. I'm pretty lazy so I would have quit after about five minutes out there! Then the real disaster struck - their ship, the Endurance, got trapped and crushed in the ice before they even got a chance to really start their trek across the continent. Suddenly they were stranded on the frozen ice floes with no way to escape and dwindling supplies. That would have been the worst! I'd be freaking out if I was stuck like that in the middle of nowhere. But Shackleton and his crew didn't panic. The book describes how he kept everyone motivated and working as a team, coming up with clever solutions to problems as they popped up. For almost two years they had to battle to survive, camping on the drifting ice, hunting seals and penguins for food, and finally launching small lifeboats across treacherous waters to try and reach help. I was on the edge of my seat reading those intense survival chapters! What really struck me was Shackleton's incredible leadership and how he inspired loyalty from his men through it all. Even when things looked hopeless, like when their ship sank and they had to abandon most of their supplies on the ice, he never gaveup. With his determination and optimism, somehow the whole crew kept their spirits up too. Not one man died during their ordeal, which is amazing.Even after their ship was gone, they had to spend months suffering through snowstorms and freezing cold, rationing rapidly dwindling food supplies. A couple times they were forced to just camp on the ice and let it drift wherever currents took them. I can't even comprehend how scary that must have been, surrounded by nothing but frozen ocean and deadly cold. But the men stuck together under Shackleton's leadership and never gave up hope.My favorite part was when Shackleton took a team of five men and miraculous sailed a tiny 22-foot lifeboat across 800 miles of the roughest ocean waters to reach a remote whaling station and organize a rescue. Just picture that - a rickety wooden boat about as long as a couple parked cars, battling50-foot waves and hurricane winds while pulling off one of the most daring small boat journeys in history! I've never even been in a little dinghy, so I can't wrap my head around how courageous and skilled those men had to be.After an absence of over two years stranded in the bleak Antarctic, it was incredible when finally a ship reached thestranded crew and brought them all home safely in the end. I just sat there stunned that everyone survived such an impossible, nightmarish experience. What Shackleton and his team endured was simply mind-blowing.This book was honestly one of the most gripping, inspiring, and flat-out unbelievable true stories I've ever read. It reminded me that there are still regions left on Earth, like the frozen poles, where even exploring can be an epic life-or-death struggle against the harsh elements. Modern technology is great, but those early Antarctic explorers truly went on one of the last wilderness adventures where it was just their bravery, skills, and will to survive against the furious forces of nature.Shackleton's famous quote at the end says it all: "A man must shape himself to a new mark directly the old condition falls into worn ways." His team shaped themselves into heroes by rising up against every new challenge Antarctica threw their way. Their perseverance defines the words "courage" and "endurance".I've always thought adventures happened in jungles or deserts or on high mountains - I never realized the South Pole could be just as treacherous a place to explore. What Shackleton pulled off in that freezing wasteland at the bottom of the worldwas one of the greatest survival stories ever told. Even though they didn't accomplish their original goal, everything they overcame just to get home alive was its own victory. I'm in awe of what those guys endured. After reading "Shackleton's Journey," I look at modern-day explorers with new respect too. A lot of what we take for granted today - like the映像and documentaries on extreme places - was made possible by the sacrifices of trailblazers who risked their lives first venturing into Earth's most inhospitable frontiers. If I ever get a chance to meet a present-day Antarctic scientist or explorer, I'm going to shake their hand and thank them for following in the footsteps of heroes like Ernest Shackleton!篇2The Adventures of Shackleton and His Brave ExplorersI just finished reading the most exciting book about one of the greatest adventures and examples of survival that ever took place. It's called "Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage" and it's all about the explorer Ernest Shackleton and his crew of 27 men who set out in 1914 to cross Antarctica by sledge. Although their ship never even made it to Antarctica because itgot trapped and crushed in the ice, the story of what happened next is simply unbelievable!First of all, can you imagine being stuck on a ship surrounded by thick ice and freezing temperatures for months and months? The men had to pass the time playing games, reading books, and putting on performances for each other. They sound like such a fun crew who really cared about keeping their spirits up even in the worst circumstances. I don't know if I could have handled the boredom and cold like they did. Then, after their ship the Endurance finally got crushed and sank, they had to camp out on the ice and sledge their belongings and lifeboats across the frozen ocean! I can't even fathom how difficult that must have been. Pulling those heavy sledges in the freezing wind and over the cracking ice while wearing all those thick clothes and boots sounds like torture. But Shackleton was such an inspiring leader who kept the men motivated to keep going despite the horrible conditions. My favorite part was when they finally made it to remote Elephant Island after an incredibly dangerous journey in the tiny lifeboats through stormy seas filled with giant waves and freezing water. Even though they were finally on land, they were still stuck on this deserted island in the middle of nowhere withno ship to come rescue them. That's when Shackleton did perhaps the bravest thing of all - he took just a few other men with him and navigated one of the lifeboats all the way to a whaling station on South Georgia Island over 800 miles away across the roughest ocean in the world!I can't wrap my head around what it must have been like to be crammed in that tiny boat for over two weeks, eating just a few crumbs of food per day, and rowing and sailing through those massive storms and waves. Just the journey alone could have made them give up or get killed. But Shackleton was determined to go get help for the men left behind on Elephant Island no matter what. He and his small crew finally made it to South Georgia Island, but then had to go on another insane trek hiking over mountains and glaciers since they landed on the opposite side from the whaling stations. I'm in awe that they were able to survive all of that.In the end, Shackleton was able to get a ship to go back and miraculously rescue every single one of his men from Elephant Island without a single life lost after being stuck there for over a year! I still can't believe they all made it through safely after everything they endured. The perseverance, optimism, bravery, and leadership skills Shackleton showed throughout the entireexpedition is something I wish to have even just a fraction of in my own life.Although his initial goal of crossing Antarctica wasn't accomplished, in many ways his voyage became an even greater feat by overcoming bigger obstacles than anyone could have imagined when they first set out. It's such an inspirational story about the strength of the human spirit and how far determination and looking out for one another can take you even when facing what seem like impossible challenges.I think every kid and adult should read this book because it has so many powerful lessons about leadership, survival, friendship, and never giving up hope even in the bleakest of situations. Most of us will never experience anything close to the severe hardships and life-or-death scenarios this crew went through. But learning about their unshakable courage and resilience in the face of such incredible odds can give us strength when dealing with difficult circumstances in our own, much tamer lives. After reading this true tale, I have a newfound appreciation for things I take for granted like warmth, shelter, food, safety, and companionship. I'm in awe of what these men endured for over two years away from their families and modern comforts. Itreally puts into perspective how easy my life is and how I shouldn't ever give up or feel sorry for myself when I encounter relatively small problems in comparison.I'm so glad I got to learn about this amazing voyage of perseverance and survival against all odds. The story of Ernest Shackleton and his crew has become an inspiring legend that I'll never forget. Their strength and unity as a team despite being pushed to the absolute brink of what any human beings could possibly endure is something I hope to carry with me. Whenever I'm faced with a challenge or hardship in my life from now on, I'll think of these men and how they overcame far worse through optimism, courage and sticking together. What an incredible example of the power of the human spirit!篇3The Incredible Adventure of Ernest ShackletonWow, what an amazing story I just read about Ernest Shackleton and his exploration crew! The book I read is called "Shackleton's Incredible Voyage" and it's all about their daring attempt to cross Antarctica in the early 1900s. Even though their ship got stuck and crushed by ice, they managed to survive foralmost two years stranded in the coldest, most remote place on Earth. It's absolutely unbelievable what they went through! The journey began in 1914 when Shackleton and his 27 crew members set sail from England on a ship called the Endurance. Their goal was to be the first people ever to trek across the entire Antarctic continent from one side to the other. Nobody had done that before. After struggling through thick pack ice for months, their ship got trapped and was eventually crushed by the immense pressure of the ice. Can you imagine watching your ship get demolished like that while you're stranded on frozen sea ice? So scary! But rather than just giving up, Shackleton and his men launched the lifeboats onto the ice and set up camp. For almost two years, they had to survive sub-zero temperatures with limited supplies and no help coming. I don't know how they did it! They had to melt ice for drinking water and hunt seals and penguins for food. Sleeping in tiny tents on the frozen ocean must have been absolutely freezing. The photos in the book showed how red and raw their faces looked from the bitter cold winds. I get chilled just thinking about it!What's really amazing is how Shackleton kept his men going through all the hardship and setbacks. Even though things keptgoing wrong, he never lost hope and was always encouraging everyone. When their ship sank, he told them "Ship and crew are safe, and that's the most important thing." When the ice they were camped on started breaking up, he got them into the lifeboats and found a tiny uninhabited island to camp on instead. He was like a real-life superhero leading his team through one impossible situation after another! After months stranded on that island with no rescue coming, Shackleton made a crazy decision. He picked just 5 of his men and they set out in one little lifeboat to sail over 800 miles across the roughest ocean waters to a remote whaling station on South Georgia Island. They had to navigate with just a sextant and get through crashing waves, blizzards, and gale force winds in this teeny rowboat. I can't even imagine how afraid yet determined they must have felt!Against all odds, they actually made it to South Georgia after about 2 weeks at sea. But that island is all mountains with no level areas to land on. So Shackleton and two others had to actually climb over the mountains, with barely any equipment or climbing gear, to get to the other side where the whaling station was. That climb was considered practically impossible, but Shackleton did it! Once they got help from the whalers, theywere able to go back and rescue the whole rest of the crew who had been waiting anxiously on the other island for over 4 months. Not a single man was lost on the entire expedition!Reading this book made me feel like I was right there with Shackleton and the crew, enduring every hardship but hanging onto hope. I was on the edge of my seat wondering if they would survive or if each new obstacle would finally be too much for them to overcome. But Shackleton's brave leadership and the grit and determination of that whole crew is just awe-inspiring. They never gave up, even in the bleakest of conditions. It makes me feel inspired to never quit on my goals and to keep pushing through any challenge.I think the story of Shackleton's expedition is one of the greatest examples of human perseverance, resourcefulness and strength of spirit that I've ever come across. Even though their original plan failed, they improvised and overcame setback after setback simply by digging deep and leaning on each other. I'll never forget the courage and resilience of Ernest Shackleton and his legendary crew of explorers. Their saga of survival against all odds is simply mind-blowing!。

不积跬步无以至千里英语作文读后感

不积跬步无以至千里英语作文读后感全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1A Journey of a Thousand StepsMom always tells me the Chinese saying "不积跬步无以至千里" which means "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." At first I didn't really understand what it meant. A thousand miles?! That's SO far! How could just taking one little step get you that far? But then I read this really cool book about a kid who went on an amazing journey, and it helped me see what the saying truly means. The book is called "The Journey of Many Steps" and it's about this boy named Xiao Ming. He lives in a small village in the countryside of China. One day, his grandpa gives him an old compass and tells him "The greatest adventure is the journey itself." Xiao Ming doesn't know what that means at first, but he's about to find out!Xiao Ming's grandpa explains that the compass once belonged to one of their ancestors who traveled all the way across China on foot hundreds of years ago. Can you imagine?!Walking that entire huge distance before there were cars, trains or planes? His ancestor started off just taking one step out the door of their home village. Then another step. And another. Before he knew it, he had walked over a thousand miles from one side of the country to the other!Xiao Ming decides he wants to retrace his ancestor's journey, stepping in his very footsteps across China using only the ancient compass as a guide. His parents are worried at first and don't want him going alone. But Xiao Ming promises to be careful and stick to the path. Finally, they agree to let him go, as long as he sends them letters updating them on his travel adventures. So Xiao Ming packs a small bag withsome snacks, water, and extra clothes, tells his parents goodbye, and takes his first step out the door to start his long journey. At first it's tough because his legs aren't used to walking such long distances every day. But he remembers what his grandpa said about taking it one step at a time. He doesn't need to think about the thousands of miles ahead, just the few steps in front of him right now.Pretty soon, Xiao Ming has hiked halfway across the province and he feels stronger than ever! He stops in another small village and buys some new walking shoes and a hiking pole. He's having so much fun meeting new people, seeing differentlandscapes, and learning about the history of each place he walks through. Xiao Ming realizes this is just like what his ancestor did centuries ago. With each new letter home, Xiao Ming's parents grow less worried as they see how responsible and capable he's becoming on his own. They can hardly believe he's already made it hundreds of miles just by walking! Xiao Ming keeps reminding them in his letters about the journey of a thousand miles proverb. He's living proof that you really can go anywhere by taking it one step at a time. Finally, after walking for over a year, Xiao Ming reaches the opposite coast of China at last! He took over a million steps, walked through deserts, forests, and mountains, but he made it all the way across the massive country. His shoes are completely worn out and his compass is tiny in his big calloused hands from holding it every day. When Xiao Ming reunites with his parents, they can't stop hugging him and telling him how proud they are. He really did follow in his ancestor's footsteps! From reading Xiao Ming's story, I totally get what the saying means now about great journeys starting with a single step. If Xiao Ming had only thought about the thousand miles from the start, it would have felt impossible and he never would havegone anywhere. But by taking it slowly, one step after the next, he was able to walk further than he ever could have imagined. Just like if you want to run a mile or learn a new language or achieve any big goal - you can't think about the whole thing at once. You just have to take that first step, and then the one after that. Before long, you'll have traveled further than you dreamed. So now whenever I have a big project or test at school, I'm going to remember Xiao Ming's journey. Instead of worrying about the whole huge thing, I'll just focus on taking one step at a time to chip away at it little by little. Who knows, maybe one day I'll take my own journey like Xiao Ming and walk across America or Europe or somewhere exotic! But I know I can't think about that full trip yet. For now, I just need to concentrate on taking that first step out the door. Then I'll figure out the next step, and the one after that. Pretty soon, I'll have walked a thousand miles too, all by putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks to Xiao Ming's story, I'll never forget that great journeys only happen when you go step-by-step.篇2A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single StepWow, what a wise saying! When I first heard it, I have to admit I was a bit confused. A thousand miles? That's like going from my house all the way to the other side of the country! How could such a long, difficult journey possibly start with just a single step? But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Let me explain what I mean.Every big goal or dream we want to achieve is kind of like a thousand-mile journey. Whether it's getting really good at playing the violin, becoming a professional athlete, learning every dinosaur's name, or even just saving up enough money to buy that really cool new video game, it can seem impossible when we first start out. The distance between where we are and where we want to be looks enormously far away, like we could never cross it no matter how hard we try. That's where the single step comes in. We can't take a magical jumping leap and get to our goal right away. But we can take one small, simple step to get a little bit closer. Then another step, and another after that. Before we know it, all those tiny steps start adding up and we've gone a lot further than we realized towards reaching our dream.Let me give you an example from my own life. Like a lot of kids, I really struggled with reading when I was younger. Seeingall those letters and words on the page was confusing and frustrating. I wanted so badly to be a good reader, to understand all the cool stories in my favorite books. But it felt like an impossible mountain to climb. How could I ever get to the top and become an excellent reader? My teacher told me the same saying - the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. She said I didn't need to learn how to read perfectly all at once. I just needed to start small, learning one letter sound today and another one tomorrow. Bit by bit, letters became words, words became sentences, and sentences became whole books I could proudly read out loud.It wasn't easy, and there were definitely days when I felt like giving up because it was too hard. But I kept taking those little steps, practicing just 10 minutes a day. And sure enough, one day I looked back and realized how far I had come! What had once seemed like an impossible dream was now my reality, all because of putting one foot in front of the other, step-by-step.That's what this saying means to me. It reminds me that no goal, no matter how huge, is unconquerable. We just have to muster up the courage to take that first step, and then follow it up with another, and another. As long as we keep makingprogress, keeping our dream in mind, and refusing to give up, we'll inevitably cross the thousand-mile finish line.So whether it's learning how to ride a bike, playing a new sport, acing a really tough class at school, or anything else we want to achieve, we should never get discouraged looking at the whole thousand miles stretched out in front of us. We don't have to take it all at once. We just need to take that first step, then the next, making sure each one is heading us in the right direction of our goal.Life is a wonderful, infinite journey full of dreams and milestones we get to strive for, one step at a time. As long as we keep taking those small, steady steps forward each day, putting one foot in front篇3A Journey of a Thousand MilesI really like the Chinese saying "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." It's one of those wise old sayings that makes you think. At first, it might seem kind of obvious. Of course a long journey starts with one step - how else could it start? But the more I think about it, the more meaningful it becomes. It reminds me of when my family went on a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains last summer. We drove for what felt like forever and ever, over a thousand miles from our home in Ohio. My little sister kept asking "Are we there yet?" about a million times. But that endless drive all started with my dad just backing out of the driveway and driving down our street. One little step on a giant journey.Looking back, there were so many small steps that allowed us to take that big trip. My parents had to save up money for over a year to afford it. They read tons of websites and guidebooks to plan where we would go and what we would do. My mom spent weeks packing up our camping gear and making checklists of everything we would need. Then we all had to pack our suitcases. My dad put air in the car tires and got an oil change to get ready. All those little steps finally led to us hitting the road. The same is true for anything big or difficult you want to achieve, not just long trips. Learning to read started with just recognizing a few letters. Riding a bicycle began by first using training wheels. Mastering multiplication came after lots of practice with simple addition and counting. My dad always says"Anything worth doing requires work and patience." He means you have to take it one step at a time.I think about this saying a lot when I get frustrated trying to learn something new or make progress towards a goal. Like when I was trying to get better at soccer this past fall. At first, I got really discouraged because I couldn't dribble the ball very well or make accurate passes. But my coach reminded me that I couldn't expect to be great right away. He said I had to "start with just that first step - practicing the basics over and over until they become second nature."So I spent weeks just dribbling the ball around my backyard, going nice and slowly. I set up cones and dribbled through them until I could do it without looking down. I passed the ball against our garage door back and forth, back and forth. Those little steps of repetition weren't very exciting, but they built up my skills bit by bit. By the end of the season, I had improved so much! I was dribbling past defenders and sending precise passes across the field. All thanks to those boring basics I had practiced faithfully.Whenever I get impatient about something now, I remind myself "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."I know that if I want to get somewhere big, I have to start small and go step-by-step. It's like my reading teacher says: "You can'tplant a seed and have a tree the next day. You have to let it grow little by little." Isn't that the truth? This saying also reminds me that I shouldn't get demoralized if my progress feels slow. Making a million little steps can feel like you aren't making any progress at all. That's how I felt when I first started learning cursive handwriting. It was sooo hard to make those skinny letters with all the humps and flourishes. My writing looked terrible! I wanted to give up because it seemed impossible. But my teacher said "Don't get discouraged. Writing is a skill that takes time and practice, just like anything else. All those shaky letters are steps getting you closer."She was right. If I hadn't kept on taking those clumsy, loopy steps day after day, I never would have gotten to where I can write in beautiful cursive now. It's the same for anything worthwhile - you have to begin somewhere, no matter how imperfect or insufficient that starting point is. A thousand miles still starts with a single step.Sometimes I imagine how overwhelming the world must have seemed to the first explorer who said "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Can you picture someone like Christopher Columbus looking out over the vast unknown ocean from Europe? He probably felt like he was tryingto cross an entire world away - because he was! No wonder he needed to remind himself that even that impossible dream began with just a single step of lifting the anchor and casting off from the shore. And look where that first step led.Whenever I'm facing a really big challenge or dream, I bolster my courage by thinking of those early explorers who tackled the unknown, one step at a time. Then I remember that I don't have to cross an entire ocean or discover a new world. I just have to begin - to take that first step, and then the next, and then the next. As long as I make enough individual steps, eventually I'll go far.My dad likes to joke that my first steps as a baby were the start of the "journey of a thousand miles" that will take me through school, college, career, and who knows where else in life. Those funny little baby stumbles across the living room were just the first steps on a long, long road. He says he can't wait to see where all my steps will lead as I get older. Neither can I! But I know this for sure - the farther the journey, the smaller and steadier my steps will need to be. A journey of a thousand miles always begins in the same way: one step at a time.。

读后感英语作文开头结尾

读后感英语作文开头结尾The book I recently read, "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, has left an indelible mark on my heart. It's a tale that transcends age, speaking to the child within us all. Each chapter unfolds a new lesson, a new perspective on life, love, and the human condition. The simplicity of the narrative belies the profound wisdom it imparts. The little prince's journey across different planets, meeting various characters, is a metaphor for the diversity of human experiences. The conversations with the fox were particularly poignant, teaching me about the essence of relationships and the true meaning of 'taming' someone. It's not about possession but about creating a bond that enriches both lives. As I turned the final pages, I felt a mix of emotions. There was a sense of loss, as if bidding farewell to a dear friend, yet also a profound sense of enlightenment. Thelittle prince's final act of returning to his own planet wasa poignant reminder of the inevitability of endings and the beauty of beginnings. This book is not just a story; it's a mirror reflectingour own lives. It challenges us to look beyond the surface,to value what truly matters, and to cherish the connectionswe make along our journey. In conclusion, "The Little Prince" is a timeless classic that resonates with readers of all ages. It's a reminder to keep our hearts open to the magic and wonder of life, even as we navigate its complexities. The book has not only entertained me but has also inspired me to live with more empathy and awareness.。

西游记读后感英语作文(5篇)

西游记读后感英语作文(5篇)西游记读后感英语作文篇1See the distance, a smile, I know its you. Run to you, throw into your arms, and always accompany me in my warm arms—— notes preceding the text of a book or following the title of an articleDuring the holiday, I came across journey to the West and published the familiar plot of that chapter. Scenes of warm pictures went deep into my mind: four teachers and disciples walked together to learn from the West. Wukong, Wujing and Wuneng protected the master all the way and never left. Although the road is difficult and bumpy, but also not without laughter. Have you ever wondered why the three of them are willing to accompany Tang Monk all the way. And "journey to the west" in Wu Chengens pen, everything seems so bumpy. They showed their abilities and stayed with him all the time. Think of here, tears, inadvertently diffuse in the eyes.In the harsh summer, you always like to sit under the tree and enjoy the cool. I cant bear the heat of summer. I dont know where to vent my anger. You always face yourself with a shallow smile. Somehow, the heart, inexplicably quiet down. Anger, abate. You will take my tender little hand with your big hand and enjoy the cool together. Gently hold up the Pu fan and slowly fan me. Bursts of cool wind will want to blow by yourself. Where are you going to sleep in the coldAfter school, I am always searching for you in the stream of people, a shallow smile in that moment, a guess is you. Show a knowing smile andspeed up to you. But he will fall hard and tears will flow out of his eyes. You will take a shallow smile calmly to their own. Gently picked me up, patted the dust on my body, reached out to dry the tears on my face and said, good, its all right, dont cry. I stare at your shallow smile, I cant help laughing. You always laugh and scold me, fool. Although it was scolding his words, his heart was slowly warm and happy.Like your shallow smile, like the warmth lying on your back, like you holding a PU fan for me to urge me to sleep. Lie on your back, you carry me behind your back, a little satisfaction in your heart. I love to play with your hair, suddenly found that there are a few silver between the hair, then exclaimed: "grandma, you have white hair!" You smiled and replied, "people are always old. How can they not have white hair when they are old." I look at you stupidly, but I dont know how to answer you. With the increase of age, the amount of homework will gradually increase, and every day he will be buried in the sea of books. Irritable, full of heart branches. You always appear in my side, with a shallow smile, to accompany me. Suddenly, the heart, quiet. After entering junior high school, I stayed in school. There are only two days a week at home. In school, when irritable, always want to see your shallow smile, think of your shallow smile, very comfortable. When I get home, I want to open the door and see your shallow smile. That shallow smile is not enough.I thank you for your shallow smile, which has been with me, with my happy time, with my childish childhood, and with me up to now. I thank you, my grandmother. Yeah! People always want to be old, but the only constant is that shallow smile, has been with me so far. Smile is yoursign. You grow up with me. With that shallow smile, you tell us to be positive and optimistic, face life and face lifes setbacks bravely. So far, the shallow smile still accompanies me, just like the four teachers and disciples, inseparable, close the book and smile. That shallow smile seems to be a part of your life, and now it seems particularly warm西游记读后感英语作文篇2I first came into contact with the Chinese classics journey to the west through the interpretation of TV, and each picture shocked me greatly.Journey to the West shows people a colorful world of gods and demons. People are amazed at the authors rich and bold artistic imagination. However, any literary work is a reflection of certain social life, and journey to the west, as an outstanding representative of God and devil novels, is no exception. Through the illusory magic world in journey to the west, we can see the projection of real society everywhere. The authors attitude towards the rulers of feudal society can also be pondered. In journey to the west, it is impossible to find a competent emperor. One hundred thousand soldiers and generals under the Jade Emperor cant beat sun monkeys golden cudgel, and it goes without saying that the real sages are dim and weak in their rule. Buddhism created by the Buddha Tathagata, monks cant be fascinated by money, but the Buddha acquiesced in his subordinates to accept other peoples favor. In journey to the west, demons and ghosts are mostly related to the gods and Buddhas, such as the green bull spirit is the mount of the Supreme Lord, the king of gold and silver horn is the child of the Supreme Lord, and the three demon kings of shituoling are related to Manjusri, Puxian Bodhisattva and even the Buddha Tathagata, This reflects the dark scene of officials protecting each other in feudal society《 Journey to the west not only has profound ideological content, but also has made high achievements in art.It has built a unique artistic palace of journey to the West with rich and strange artistic imagination, vivid and tortuous plot, lifelike characters and humorous language《 The artistic achievement of journey to the west is the successful creation of two immortal artistic images: Monkey King and pig Bajie. Monkey King is the first hero in journey to the West. He is a great hero.He has infinite abilities, is not afraid of heaven and earth, and has an unyielding spirit of resistance. The extraordinary demeanor of a great hero, who has feelings and righteousness for the master and younger martial brothers, also has the disadvantage of listening to compliments. He is witty, brave, witty and noisy. It is for human nature. He has a hairy face and a Leigong mouth. The mountain king is monkey, while 72 changes.A heel of eighteen thousand miles is divine. And his characteristic is to dare to fight. When he dared to fight with the supreme Jade Emperor, Leng called for the reputation of "Qi Tian Da Sheng"; If you dare to fight with demons, you will never let go of a demon. Ruyi will never show mercy to demons under the golden cudgel; Dare to fight against all difficulties, never retreat and bow your head.西游记读后感英语作文篇3After reading Journey to the west, I was deeply impressed by the twists and turns of the plot and the strange experience of Tang monks and apprentices.Wu Chengen, the author of this book, tells the story of Tang Seng and his three disciples who went through all kinds of difficulties and dangers, conquered demons and demons, and got the Sutra through the difficulty of 9981. It is this strange story. The exquisite writing is deeply loved by people. It has spread to this day and is famous at home and abroad. This book has become one of the four famous works in ancient China.Journey to the west is written about monsters and plays ethereal. It focuses on fun, such as interest, wild interest and divine interest. Watching journey to the west makes people relaxed and free. For example, its fun to recruit relatives in real and fake Monkey King, pig Bajie and Gao Laozhuang.Four distinctive characters are created in journey to the West: Tang monk is a kind ascetic monk who is dedicated to Buddhism. On the way to learn sc riptures from the west, he spared no pains, was not afraid of difficulties and dangers, but was fatuous and stubborn, regardless of right and wrong. Sun Wukong is active, mischievous, skillful, brave and resourceful. Although he was misunderstood by Tang Monk many times, he still insisted on escorting Tang monk to the West. He embodies not only a kind of persistence, a kind of resistance, but also a kind of rebellion. Zhu Bajie is simple and honest, brave in battle and not afraid of demons, but he is greedy for money and lust, greedy for food and sleep, and funny.Tang. Monk Sha is kind-hearted and content with his destiny. These four characters have their own characteristics. Among them, the one I like most is monkey king. He was born with an atmosphere of freedom and a spirit of resistance and struggle. He dares to call himself the saint of heaven; There is the slogan "the emperor will take turns and come to my house next year"; He made a fuss in the heavenly palace and frightened the Jade Emperor; He subdued the demons and subdued the demons; He can change 72 and flip the clouds superb skills; He has golden eyes and can fight monsters in his stomach; He tried his best to protect Tang Seng on the way to the West. Although he was misunderstood by Tang Seng sometimes, he didnt choose to give up. He was consistent... In short, he was a great hero in my mind.In addition, it is said in journey to the West that it was difficult for Tang monks and disciples to obtain the Scr iptures in the end. There is no persistence, no fear of difficulties, and no perseverance. For example, if the Tang Monk had not had a firm will, he would have been the king of the state of Xiliang. Where would there be an ending of taking the scr iptures from the west. For another example, at the birth of zhailingyundu, the four teachers and disciples refused to pay bribes and took the wordless Scri pture. Later, they had to give the purple gold bowl to the venerable to obtain the worded Scrip ture. But on the way back, I met the old turtle who connected to the Milky way again. Because Tang Monk forgot to ask the Buddha about the fate of the old turtle, the old turtle was angry and sank into the river, but it wet the Sc riptures... There were many disasters, and the end of the story was success. Isnt it due to the persistence of the four masters and disciples? Think about our study and life, but its not like this. We are always so fragile. Everydifficulty will make us retreat. When watching journey to the west, I cant help feeling ashamed. Monk Tangs teachers and disciples went through hardships on the way to learn scr iptures in the West and didnt give up in the face of many difficulties. When they encounter difficulties and setbacks, they just want to retreat. I asked myself why I couldnt stick to it like them? I think maybe this is what I lack. Reading Journey to the West has made me understand that as long as you can do something from beginning to end, no matter whether it is successful or not, as long as you try your best to do it and stick to it until the end, it is also a success for yourself.Journey to the west makes me feel different from other famous works. It makes us feel life while being relaxed and happy. We should not only learn from Sun Wukongs shrewdness and bravery, but also learn from their perseverance for their own goals. I hope and believe that journey to the West will bring you inspiration and inner strength.西游记读后感英语作文篇4Journey to the west is one of the four famous works in China. I am proud of journey to the West and my motherland. In the works of Wu Chengen, a novelist in the Ming Dynasty, every character is so lifelike that I cant get tired of seeing it.Every time I finish reading the journey to the west, the four teachers and disciples of Tang monk have different positions in my mind. I like three lovely disciples, but I only hate the serious Tang monk.Sun Wukong has great powers. Seventy-two changes are magical and omnipotent. His loyalty to the master and his responsibility to the younger martial brother can be learned from the sun and the moon. He is naughty, stubborn and irritable, but the combination of these advantages and disadvantages makes him a unique and beloved Monkey King. He is persistent, brave, strong, self-confident, tolerant and kind... Monkey King, you are worthy of being the "saint of Qi Tian" with the sky and the hero in my heart!Pig Bajie is lazy, greedy, and silly, but he is very kind and cute. Many people said he was useless, but he also made great contributions on the way to learn scri ptures. He doesnt have the great powers of the monkey king and the diligence and honesty of monk Sha, but he has his own carefree. This happy pure heart makes him lovely and I like it!Monk Sha has no shortcomings of Monkey King and no advantages of pig Bajie, but he is my favorite character. He is honest and loyal. He respects his master and senior brother. When a monster comes, he is always duty bound. How can this courage not be loved? No matter when, he always gives his strength silently, and the heaviest and hardest work is always borne by him. Why is this spirit of selfless dedication not worth learning from? How can such a hard-working person not be loved by me?Tang sanggui is the master of three good disciples. Naturally, he is different and commendable. Kindness and compassion are his heart, but I hate him. He embarked on the road of learning sc riptures with the arduous task of popularizing all living beings. But because of his so-called kindness, he believed in anyone and escaped death many times. Monkey king tried his best to save him, but he didnt distinguish between right andwrong, reversed black and white, listened to Zhu Bajies provocation, and expelled monkey king from the school many times. How can I like such a person who doesnt know right and wrong? He recites sc riptures and Buddha solemnly, but he cant even see through the most basic people. What qualifications does he have to talk about universal living beings? I hate him.Wu Chengen is really a smart man. With his painstaking efforts, he compiled journey to the west, a great book that makes people admire. Journey to the West has proved to the world that China is strong and that the Chinese people are wise. This classic has added luster to China.I like journey to the West and you, my motherland. I am proud that I am Chinese. I want to shout to the blue sky of my motherland: I love my motherland!西游记读后感英语作文篇5"Journey to the west" describes the story of the four masters and disciples who experienced the difficulties of September 81, braved with demons and ghosts, and finally obtained the Scri pture. In the book, the roles of Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong, pig Bajie and sand monk are vivid. The words and behaviors of the four teachers and disciples going to the western regions are vividly on paper.Tang Sanzang, with the spirit of never giving up, has a firm heart on the road to the West. Like a little snail, imagine climbing up the blue sky. Just for the purpose of universal salvation. Also have compassion. As a Buddhist believer, he is happy to help others and generous to others. As the leader of the journey to the west, he can restrain his disciples. But as a leader, Sanzang is unimaginable fatuous and incompetent. When he misunderstood that Wukong hurt other peoples lives, "justice" punished Wukong with a tight hoop curse and expelled Wukong from the sc ripture collection team. When he is in danger, he always calls Wukong first. In "three dozen Baigujing", Monkey King destroyed Baigujing who hurt Sanzang. Sanzang believes that Wukong hurts the innocent. Immediately throw away the fear of the monster. There is only anger at Wukong in my heart. In his works, Wu Gong not only praises Sanzangs firmness and kindness, but also satirizes Sanzangs fatalness and incompetence as a leader. It can be seen that Wu Gongs feelings for this character are complex.Monkey King, seventy-two, has great powers, and the golden cudgel subdues countless demons. In "havoc in heaven", he has the courage to challenge authority and yearns for freedom. For my favorite character, is amiable lovely, brave and fearless image. In the flower and fruit mountain is not ordinary. To try to change yourself. After years of self-improvement in Sanxing cave, he finally succeeded in changing himself. Wukong is not afraid of difficulties and believes in himself. However, in the early stage of the road of learning, there was no firm heart of Sanzang. Three times he left the Sutra team because of the misunderstanding of Sanzang. However, his feelings for the master remain the same. Wukong once said, "I dont know that I am a teacher one day and a father all my life. Father and son have no hatred of overnight." It can be seen that the feelings towards master can not be broken by several misunderstandings. When Sanzang needs help most, he can always help his master.Pig Bajie, often make people laugh. Similar to the comic characters in film and television products, the dirty lotus canopy hangs on the mouth, and the ears are like a cattail fan, showing golden eyes. The tusks are as sharp as steel files, and the long mouth is as open as a fire basin. It is Wu Gongs imagination of Bajie. On the way to the Scri ptures, he is often fascinated by the beauty of monsters. When I met with difficulties, I thought of Li branch returning to gaolaozhuang. In "four sages try Zen heart", except for the eight commandments, all the teachers and apprentices are immobile. But Bajie was confused, insisted on staying, and finally punished. In this case, why was he called "the messenger of the clean altar", which is absolutely inseparable from his prodigal sons turning back. It is not only his loyalty to Sanzang, but also the reward of his efforts on the west road.Monk Sha is honest and steady. After giving up his status as a monster, he always abides by the rules of Buddhism and works hard without complaint. There is no magic power, nor the shortcomings of laziness and incompetence. It is ordinary and has a simple, honest and lovely image. When we only pay attention to Wukongs heroic rescue of the master in water and fire; Eight Precepts make people laugh; If you think of monk Sha, it is a kind of insipid that people cant help but love. He is not only a member of the team of learning classics, but also an indispensable member of journey to the West.Go and have a look again. Aftertaste the wonderful stories. Go and have a look again and enjoy Wu gongzhis articles incisively and vividly。

读后感英语精选作文一 This is a story about a special and ueserved woman who has been exposed to a hostile environment but continuously and fearlessly struggling for her ideal life. The story can be interpreted as a symbol of the independent spirit. It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally. Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lomon person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to 2

be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time ----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever. I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I 3

heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to eich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.” (By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”) What’s more, this film didn’t end when Jane left Thornfield. For Jane Eyer herself, there should always be somewhere to realize her great ideal of being independent considering her fortitude, but for Rochester, how he can get salvation? The film gives the answer tentatively: Jane eventually got back to Rochester. In fact, when Jane met Rochester for the first time, she scared his horse and made his heel strained, to a certain extent, which meant Rochester would get retrieval because of Jane. We can 4

consider Rochester’s experiences as that of religion meaning. The fire by his frantic wife was the punishment for the cynicism early in his life. After it, Rochester got the mercy of the God and the love of the woman whom he loved. Here we can say: human nature and divinity get united perfectly in order to let such a story accord with the requirements of both two sides. The value of this film may be due to its efforts to explore a new way for the development of humanism under the faith of religion. Life is ceaselessly changing, but our living principles remain. Firmly persisting for the rights of being independent gives us enough confidence and courage, which is like the beacon over the capriccioso sea of life. In the world of the film, we have found the stories of ourselves, which makes us so concerned about the fate of the dramatis personae. In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement, both physical and mental effects on us call for a balance. We are likely to find ourselves bogged down in the Sargasso Sea of information overload and living unconsciousness. It’s our spirit that makes the life meaningful.
