隐喻是一种认知模式,从始源域映射到目标域,并形成一个基本手段,组织和表达的概念认识世界。
在认识世界时,人类几乎将身体的各个部位以各种方式投射到客观物质世界中的各种事物中。
在认识世界过程中,古代人将身体部位投射到世界中的客观事物,也就是说,他们将身体部位作为始源域,将其投射到不熟悉的、抽象的目标域,从而更好的认识不熟悉的事物。
近些年来,出现了人体部位的隐喻词语的研究论文,这些都是从人类的身体部位的词语来进行隐喻研究,那么隐喻认知能力是否同样也适用于动物的身体部位——“尾”呢?“尾”有什么隐喻意义吗?是否跟人体部位词语的隐喻方式相似呢?本文中的汉英语料分别来自于《现代汉语词典》(第五版)、《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》(第六版)以及CCL语料库和JustTheWord网络语料库。
