长对话

一、题材类型

听力长对话共有两篇,共七题。长对话的题材一般都和学校生活有关:

1)课程内容:以上课为背景,介绍某个知识。

2)打工内容:常涉及到工作的内容、与学习课程之间的冲突。

3)度假旅游经历。

4)学校生活:谈论某个教师的课堂、某个讲座。

5)住宿生活:与室友的相处或与房东的矛盾。

6)某项娱乐活动。

二、考查类型

根据对历年四级考试听力部分的研究发现,长对话对考生能力的考查不外乎包含以下三大块:把握对话主旨大意、分析对话事实细节、具体信息推理判断。

1.把握对话主旨大意

主旨大意题主要考查考生对对话全局的掌握,以及判断主要信息和次要信息的能力,一般要求考生从四个选项中挑出最适合作中心思想的选项,考生要在理解整篇对话内容的基础上选择答案。主旨大意题常见的提问方式有:

What is the conversation mainly talk about?

What is the main topic of the conversation?

What are the two speakers talking about?

EXAMPLE

A)The man has sent the order to the woman by mistake.

B)Some of the telephone systems don’t work properly.

C)Some of the packs do not contain any manuals.

D)The quality of the goods is not up to the standard.

由order,mistake,system,don’t work,packs,quality,goods可以推测出对话内容与产品的买卖有关,再根据各选项语义判断,本题可能考查产品买卖中出现的问题,听音时应注意与此相关的信息。

W: What can I do for you?

M: Well, unfortunately, there is a problem with the order we received from you yesterday. It seems we’ve not received the right quantity of manuals to support the telephone system.

W: Oh, dear, that’s bad news. I’m very sorry to hear that, and you don’t know how many packs are without manuals?

23. What problem are the speakers discussing?

2.分析对话事实细节

事实细节题主要是针对对话中的细节信息进行考查,包括人物、地点、时间、数字、原因、目的、手段、建议、态度、观点、行动、计划等。这种题主要考查考生对对话细节的把握,对考生的短时记忆提出

较高的要求,所以考生在做题时要积极浏览选项以预测听音重点,并在听音时做简要的笔记。事实细节题的提问方式因细节信息的不同而多种多样。如:

What element does Bill think is essential to his software company?

What does he think of his college education?

When did the earthquake occur?

Where had her house moved after the earthquake?

How many times has Mr. Griffin been to China?

24. What does the woman promise to do?

3.具体信息推理判断

具体信息推理判断是指在了解对话某一信息的基础上,运用一定的逻辑推理能力做出推测和判断。这一题型不仅考查了考生的听力能力,还考查考生的逻辑推理和判断能力。考生在做这类题时不仅要听懂对话所提供的信息,还要注意说话人的语气和语调,并结合自己的日常生活知识,推理判断问题的正确答案。推理判断题常用的提问方式有:

What does the speaker say about…?

What does the speaker mean by saying…?

What can we infer from the conversation?

What’s the probable relationship between the speakers?

四个选项均是对某一事物进行评价的形容词,由此推测本题考查人物对某事物的评价。听音时注意与此相关的信息。

25. What does the man think of the solution?

A)。问题中的关键信息词是man,think和solution。对话最后男士对女士解决该问题的快速反应表示感谢,由此判断,男士对女士处理问题的方式表示满意。

三、设题规律

长对话的设题点并不是均匀分布的,而是在几个讨论的焦点区域或一些关键地方出题,甚至在干扰信息处出题。通过对历年真题的分析,我们可以发现以下设题点是长对话命题的主要方向:中间处、开头处、结尾处、干扰信息处、信息集中处、对整个对话的理解和时间数字处。

1.中间处

在对话的中间部分,谈话者会就其中某一个问题进行比较深入的沟通,通常会涉及一些细节性的内容,因此成为设题的一个关键地方。对话中间处多考查一些细节题。

2.开头处

3.结尾处

结尾处也是长对话常设题的地方。除了道别外,说话者在对话结尾处还常常会谈到一些重要信息,如双方对某事最后的观点、态度、决定、建议等,有时双方或其中一方还会在对话结尾重申一些对话主旨,因此考生对对话的结尾也要特别注意。听音时,应及时记录一些可能考查的关键信息。

4.干扰信息处

5.信息集中处

连词as/since/because/for等,

建议句型(how about/what about/ what will you say?),

反问句式(why not?/ Why don’t…?/ isn’t it…?),

语意转折(however/although/nevertheless),

固定表达(It’s not my cup of tea, I have little to do with, it’s beyond my knowledge, it’s up to you etc)。

b.考题的侧重点一般为说话人的身份,谈话的背景,谈话的主题或具体细节,某一说话人的观点、结论

或接下来要做的事情。因此考生的应对策略可以为:
