Assimilation

语音同化是英语口语发音中一种非常普遍的现象。早期英语中的词形或发音正是由于同化过程转化而来,另有一些词的发音则在语境中发生变化, 或与其他邻近发音合并产生新的发音。了解同化现象有助于提高英语口语表达的流利程度,增强听力理解能力。英语单音在词或句子里受前后音的影响,往往发生变异或同化现象。英语的同化有下列几种情况:

1. 浊辅音变清或清辅音变浊。如: newspaper里news的s原来发浊辅音[z],受paper 里[p]的影响,读成清辅音[s]。

Writing Strategy

The body of a written piece is where you elaborate, defend, and expand the thesis introduced in the introduction. As you make your case, save your best argument for last. When presenting contrary views, be sure to set forth the strongest arguments so you can avoid being charged with erecting a “straw man”. Writing for Specific Purposes: Postcard

In daily life, we sometimes send short messages by postcards to our friends, colleagues and family members.
