Ladies and Gentlemen，Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and to give you a short speech. Today my topic is “the Dragon culture”. I hope you will like it.
First I want to ask you a question: do you know what day was yesterday? Y es, It was the Wenchuan earthquake’s first anniversary!
I come from Sichuan; I lived through the earthquake, so I clearly remember the scene that the earthquake broken our: there were too many people who panic in the streets, shaking the earth in, communications were interrupted, and we dare not return home. .......Anyway, everything has been disrupted and chaotic! This was the first time we encountered earthquake, so at that time, we were so feared, so shocking and so helpless! In those days, we have been living a fear life.
Maybe someone here will ask me: Does the earthquake has anything to do with the title of you speech? Y es, they have relations.Now let me tell you.Dragon，on behalf of the spirit of our nation, strong and great! Dragon in China is the oldest and most long-standing totem; the dragon is a symbol of China, a symbol of the Chinese nation, a symbol of Chinese culture.It can be said that Chinese culture is the dragon culture, which represents a strong, struggle, self-improvement spirit!I do not want to go back the cruelty of the earthquake,but the earthquake reflects the spirit of the Chinese nation has always encouraged me. Earthquake can destroy our homes, our streets, but it can not destroy our will!
From the earthquake, I know from personal experience that these connotations. During the earthquake, people help each other, no matter who you are, no matter where you come from, and no matter which nation you are, we all helped each other.For example, a farmer in Hebei riding a tricycle path thousands of miles away, with more than 100 cake to Wenchuan earthquake - which to me is that the strength of unity and mutual assistance；People trapped in the rubble, in order to survive, without food or drink dozens or even hundreds of adhering to an hour - which to me is that the tenacity and strength to survive;There is also a Hunan native teachers, Tan Qianqiu,to support the development of the western region. When the earthquake occurred he was teaching, in order to protect his students, he was crushed to death. Of course, the meaning of the dragon culture is widely, It not only met
