Roman priorities lay in the organization, exploitation, and defense of their territory. In all probability it was the fertile plain of Latium, where the Latins who founded Rome originated, that created the habits and skills of landed settlement, landed property, landed economy, landed administration, and a land-based society. From this arose the Roman genius for military organization and orderly government. In turn, a deep attachment to the land, and to thestability which rural life engenders, fostered the Roman virtues: gravitas, a sense of responsibility, pietas—a sense of devotion to family and country, and iustitia, a sense of the natural order.7. Paragraph 3 suggests which of the following about the people of Latium?○Their economy was based on trade relations with other settlements.○They held different values than the people of Rome.○Agriculture played a significant role in the society.○They possessed unusual knowledge of animal instincts.题型:推论题。

七年级上册英语书译林版跟读第七单元全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 7 - A Greener WorldHey there! It's me again, your friendly neighborhood 7th grader, here to give you the lowdown on Unit 7 of our English textbook. This unit is all about the environment and how we can make the world a bit greener. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me!The unit kicks off with a reading passage called "Climate Change" that really lays out the basics. It explains how human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation are leading to rising global temperatures. This is causing all sorts of wonky weather patterns and melting ice caps. Definitely not a good scene for the polar bears! One part that really struck me was learning about the greenhouse effect. Apparently, certain gases in the atmosphere act like a greenhouse, trapping heat from the sun. Adding more of these "greenhouse gases" makes the Earth warmer overall. Who knew things like driving cars and leaving lights on contributed to that? The reading also touched on some potential consequences, like rising sea levels, droughts, extreme weather events and threats to wildlife habitats. It's pretty heavy stuff when you really think about it. We've got to do better as global citizens to protect our one and only home - Planet Earth! But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom! The unit also shows us ways we can be part of the solution. There are these really fascinating sections on renewable energy sources like solar, wind and hydroelectric power. Apparently, using more of these clean alternatives instead of burning coal and oil can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Technology for the win!I thought the parts on energy conservation and efficiency were super interesting too. Simple things like turning off lights, taking shorter showers and unplugging electronics when not in use can save a bundle. Upgrading to energy efficient appliances and better insulating buildings are great moves as well. Then there's the three R's - reduce, reuse and recycle. I'll admit, I wasn't always awesome about putting bottles and cans in the recycling bin before. But after seeing how reducing waste can lower emissions from manufacturing, transportation and landfills, I'm a total convert now! My parents are so proud. The unit Reading really opened my eyes to how our daily choices add up when it comes to environmental impact. It's pretty mind-blowing to connect civilian activities to major climate phenomena. But it's also super motivating to learn about all the ways we can lessen our carbon footprint, both big and small.Of course, no unit would be complete without practicing the language skills. There are tons of vocabulary terms related to environmental science and sustainability to wrap our heads around. Stuff like "fossil fuels," "emissions," "deforestation," "conservation," you get the drift. Definite Brain Strain City, but incredibly useful words to know. The writing exercises have us responding to questions and prompts about environmental issues. Let me tell you, trying to coherently explain the effects of rising sea levels in a5-paragraph essay is no joke! I've got a newfound respect for environmental activists and their public speaking abilities. Then there are the listening comprehension activities centered around lectures, interviews and dialogues about the same eco-themes. I still get tripped up sometimes when they use terms like "sustainable agriculture" or "carbon offsetting." Butoverall, it's great practice for dealing with complex environmental content. My favorite part of any unit though is the spoken exercises where we role play different situations. This time around, we did scenes related to environmental campaigns and activities. I got to be a politician delivering a speech about my nation's plans to adopt renewable energy sources. My buddy played an interviewer grilling a corporate CEO about their company's efforts to reduce emissions. The drama! The stakes! Honestly, somebody give us Oscars already. At the end of the day, I'm just really glad we're learning about this critical topic. Environmental protection and sustainability aren't some niche issues anymore. They're right up there with math, science and language arts in terms of pure importance and global impact. The mehr we understand the environment now, the better prepared we'll be to help safeguard it for future generations. It's a race against the clock, butApp-arently we've still got time to turn things around if we all pitch in.So that's Unit 7 in a nutshell! We covered the causes and effects of climate change, explored different technologies and practices for going greener, and worked on talking and writingabout it all. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling a lot more eco-conscious and motivated to make some sustainable lifestyle篇2Unit 7 – The World of SportsThis unit in our 7th grade English textbook has been one of my favorites so far! Not only did I get to learn lots of new vocabulary and expressions related to sports and fitness, but the reading passages and dialogues were really engaging and interesting. The first text was about the history and origins of several popular sports like soccer, basketball, and tennis. I had no idea that soccer could be traced back over 2,000 years to ancient China! Or that basketball was invented by a gym teacher in the 1890s as an indoor game to keep rowdy students active during the cold New England winters. Learning these little historical anecdotes made the sports seem even cooler to me.The second reading was a short biography of Venus and Serena Williams, the incredibly successful tennis superstars and sisters. Their story of overcoming obstacles, working hard from a very young age, and supporting each other's careers was truly inspirational. It motivated me to pursue my own interests andhobbies with more dedication and perseverance. Plus, their achievements showed that with enough passion and practice, even kids from rough neighborhoods can go incredibly far.In addition to the readings, we also spent time going over sports vocabulary like "scoreboard," "referee," "defense," etc. And we learned useful expressions like "to win by a long shot" or "to knock someone out of the park." My personal favorite was "going for the gold" which I'll definitely be using next time I'm really determined to ace a test or assignment!Of course, a unit about sports wouldn't be complete without some practice dialogues and role-plays. We did some fun activities like interviewing each other as star athletes after a big game or pretending to be coaches giving our teams a motivational pep talk. It was equal parts silly and educational as we learned how to banter back-and-forth more naturally in English. But the part I most looked forward to each class was our reading aloud time. Our teacher picked high-interest passages or news stories related to that week's sports theme, and we went around reading short paragraphs one by one. Not only did this help improve our pronunciation and fluency, but it also exposed us to more vocabulary and idioms used in context.I remember one passage was about Michael Phelps' record-breaking performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Another was a controversially ruled play from the last World Cup soccer match. Getting the chance to read these texts out loud, and then discuss them as a class, made the material feel so much more relevant and real-world rather than just dry, textbook lessons.Reading aloud has always been one of my favorite ways to practice English. There's something about hearing the words and feeling them on your tongue that really helps lock them into your brain. Plus, getting consistent feedback from my teacher about pronunciation, intonation, and cadence has been invaluable.I used to be pretty shy about reading out loud, afraid I'd make a silly mistake or not understand part of the text. But our teacher cultivated such a supportive, no-judgement environment that I quickly got over those fears. Now, I actually get excited when it's my turn to read. I try to add drama and expression, almost like I'm performing a one-person play. Some of my classmates who are quieter still get flustered when called on randomly. So our teacher started giving us short scripts or text excerpts to practice at home before reading themaloud the next day. That small amount of preparation time made a huge difference in their confidence levels. For longer readings, we sometimes split up the sections among groups and assign different roles, like news reporters or book characters. It was a fun way to make even dry material feel more engaging and interactive. Plus, the friendly competition between groups motivated us to try our best with proper diction, emphasis, and flair.Overall, Unit 7's focus on sports was the perfect subject to have us reading more challenging texts and dialogues out loud. The high-interest topics about famous athletes and exciting games drew everyone in and made the reading practice feel far less like a classroom "chore." I'm already looking forward to what engaging themes our next unit will explore!篇3Unit 7 - A Brighter FutureHey everyone! I'm here to give you all the deets on Unit 7 from our 7th grade English textbook. This unit was all about looking towards the future and talking about dreams, goals and plans. It kicked off with a really cool text called "A Brighter Future" about this teenager named Lin Lin. She's from a village in China and talks about her hopes and aspirations. Lin Lin wants to go to university and study computer science because she's really into technology and coding. Her dream is to get a good job in the city and be able to support her family back in the village. I thought it was an inspiring story about having big ambitions despite facing lots of challenges. The reading was followed up with some vocabulary exercises drilling words like "aspiration", "resident", "currently" and "circumstances". There were lots of speaking activities too, like discussing what careers we're interested in and what our future dreams are. I said I'd love to be a video game designer! Then we moved onto the grammar focus, which was dealing with different ways to talk about the future. We learned how to use "will" and "going to" for predictions and planned actions. There were some practice exercises filling out dialogues about people's upcoming plans. We also covered the present continuous tense for talking about future arrangements that are already planned. My favorite part was the section on if-clauses and conditionals. We looked at using "if" to express real possibilitiesand hypothetical situations about the future. It was pretty mindbendy stuff! An example was: "If I get a scholarship, I will be able to afford university fees." Or hypothetically: "If I won the lottery, I would travel around the world." We had to work through lots of different examples like that. There were a couple of cool listening exercises too. One was about a student interviewing her teacher about her childhood dreams and goals when she was younger. The other was a group of friends making plans to form a band and discussing what they need to do to make it happen. I'm a total music nut so that one was right up my alley! For the writing section, we had to write a letter to our future selves describing our goals and what we imagine our lives will be like in 10-15 years' time. I wrote all about my video game ambitions - having my own studio, working on developing open-world RPGs, that kind of thing. It was fun to let my imagination run wild with that one!We wrapped things up with a cultural corner exploring different coming-of-age ceremonies and traditions from around the world. There was some fascinating stuff about celebrations marking the transition from child to adulthood in various cultures. My favorite was this ritual in Belize where kids getsymbolically whipped with ropes to prepare them for the challenges of adult life. No thanks! All in all, Unit 7 was a blast. I feel like I leveled up my skills when it comes to talking about the future in English. Those conditional sentences still make my brain hurt a little, but it's all good! I'm excited to keep working towards making my dreams a reality. The future is bright!。
