Now, let me get to part1.Part 1 Teaching material analysisThe Unit 7 is around the topic “Describe the weather” and further study of the Present Progressive Tense, What questions, How questions. The “weather” topic is related to our daily life. I’ll set up a relaxing atmosphere to arouse the students’ interest and improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.Part 2 Teaching guidelineAs we all know people learn a language in order to communicate. As a language teacher, I realize that it’s important to develop the students’communicati on competence . It seems to me there are three points to improve it. First, lay special emphasis on developing listening/speaking/reading/writing skills. Second, let the students understand the daily conversation better. That is” learning by doing” “doing things with the language”. I’ll give the students some tasks and arrange some activities: watching pictures, talking, role-play the conversation, pair/group work.Part 5 Teaching procedures.It is made up of 5 steps. They are warming up, presentation, group work, practice, summary and homework.Now let’s go tothe first step:Step1. warming upThe purpose is to arouse the students’ interest of study. At the beginning of the class, we will greet each other, then a free talk, and move to the next step .Step2. Presentation1) Let the students look at some pictures, then revise some new words: weather, rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowing.2) T ell the students the main topic” Weather” and lead in new sentence structure. First, I’ll point to the outside and ask the students “How’s the weather outside?”then gi ve the answer ”It’s sunny”. At the same time, I’ll put this question/answer on the blackboard.
