They all had a special message that in some way or another reflected how I feel about you. Yet as I selected and read, and selected and read again, it occurred to me that not a single card said what I really want to say to you. You’ll soon be 84 years old, Dad, and you and I will have had 55 Father’s Days together. I haven’t always been with you on Father’s Day nor have I been with you for all of your birthdays. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to be with you. I’ve always been with you in my heart but sometimes life gets in the way.You know, Dad, there was a time when we were not only separated by the generation gap but completely polarized by it. You stood on one side of the Great Divide and I on the other, father and daughter split apart by age and experience, opinions, hairstyles, cosmetics, clothing, curfews, music, and boys. The Father-Daughter Duel of ’54 shifted into high gear when you taught me to drive the old Dodge and I decided I would drive the ‘54 Chevy whether you liked it or not. The police officer who escorted me home after you reported the Chevy stolen late one evening was too young to understand father-daughter politics and too old to have much tolerance for a snotty 16 year old. You were so decent about it, Dad, and I think that was probably what made it the worst night of my life. Our relationship improved immensely when I married a man you liked, and things really turned around when we begin making babies right and left. We didn’t have a television set, you know, and we had to en tertain ourselves somehow. I didn’t know what to expect of you and Mom as grandparents but I didn’t have to wait long to find out. Those babies adored you then just as they adore you now. When I see you with all your grandchildren, I know you’ve given them the finest gift a grandparent can give. You’ve given them yourself.Somewhere along the line, the generation gap evaporated. Age separates us now and little else. We agree on most everything, perhaps because we’ve learned there isn’t much worth disagreeing about. However, I would like to mention that fly fishing isn’t all you’ve cracked it up to be, Dad. You can say what you want about wrist action and stance and blah, blah, blah I’ve been happily drifting for a lot of years, Dad, and I didn’t see you gett ing older.I suppose I saw us and our relationship as aging together, rather like a fine wine. Numbers never seemed important. But the oddest thing happened last week. I was at a stop sign and I watched as you turned the corner in your car. It didn’t immediately occur to me that it was you because the man driving looked so elderly and fragile behind the wheel of that huge car. It was rather like a slap in the face delivered from out of nowhere. Perhaps I saw your age for the first time that day. Or maybe I saw my own.Fifty years ago this spring we planted kohlrabi together in a garden in Charles City, Iowa.I didn’t know then that I would remember that day for the rest of my life. This week, we’ll plant kohlrabi together again, perhaps for the last time but I hope not.I don’t understand why planting kohlrabi with you is so important to me but it is. And the funny thing about it is, well, I don’t know quite how to tell you this, DadI don’t even like kohlrabibut I like planting it with you.I guess what I’m tr ying to say, Dad, is what every son and daughter wants to say to their Dad today. Honoring a Father on Father’s Day is about more than a Dad who brings home a paycheck, shares a dinner table, and attends school functions, graduations, and weddings. It isn’t even so much about kohlrabi, ’54 Chevrolets, and fly-fishing. It’s more about unconditionally loving children who are snotty and stubborn, who know everything and won’t listen to anyone. It’s about respect and sharing and acceptance and tolerance and giving and taking. It’s about loving someone more than words can say,and it’s wishing that it never had to end.I love you, Dad.Yours,Daughter。

写给爸爸大学生活的一封信英语作文

写给爸爸大学生活的一封信英语作文

写给爸爸大学生活的一封信英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Dad,I hope you're having a great time at college! I miss you a lot, but I know you're working really hard to get your degree. College sounds like such an exciting adventure. I can't wait until I'm old enough to go too!I bet your classes are really interesting. What's your favorite subject? I'm taking math, science, reading, and a bunch of other classes at my elementary school. My favorite is art class because I love drawing and painting. We recently learned how to make sculptures out of clay. I made a little dinosaur that I'm really proud of!Speaking of dinosaurs, are you learning about them in your science classes? Dinosaurs are so cool. I saw a documentary on TV that said scientists have discovered a new species of dinosaur with feathers! Can you believe dinosaurs might have had feathers just like birds? I would love to travel back in time and see the dinosaurs roaming around. As long as they're theplant-eating kind and not the type that would think I'm a tasty snack!I heard that dorm life can be really fun. Do you have a roommate? What's it like sharing a room with someone? At home, I have my own bedroom, but sometimes I wish I had a brother or sister to share it with. We could split the space down the middle and decorate our sides however we want. Maybe you could put up science posters and I could put up dinosaur drawings! The dining halls sound awesome too. You're so lucky you get to choose what you want to eat every day. At home, mom and I take turns cooking, but you know my cooking skills aren't the best yet. I burnt the grilled cheese sandwiches last week when it was my turn to make lunch. The smoke detectors went off and everything! Good thing the firemen said it was just my terrible cooking and not an actual fire.I really miss watching the Dinos playing football together. Do they have college football games you can go to? I would love to come visit sometime and we could go cheer on your school's team together. We could get those big cups of hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream and marshmallows on top to keep us warm in the cold stadium. Doesn't that sound fun?Have you joined any clubs on campus? They have so many cool ones to pick from like science club, art club, computer club, and more. I would definitely join the dinosaur club if my school had one! We could dig for fossils, learn all about the different species, and maybe even go on a field trip to a museum. A kid can dream, right?I hope you're making lots of new friends too. College is a great place to meet people from all over who have different backgrounds and interests. You'll probably meet people who have traveled to far away places, speak other languages, or have really fascinating hobbies. Wouldn't it be awesome to have friends from around the world? Just don't replace your best friend back home (that's me, of course!).Well, I should probably get going and let you get back to your studies. I don't want to be the reason you get bad grades! Just kidding, I know you're working really hard. You're going to make an awesome scientist, engineer, doctor, or whatever you want to be when you grow up. I'm so proud of you for following your dreams!Miss you and love you!Your "#1 Son"篇2Dear Dad,I miss you a lot since you went away to college! Mom says I have to be a big boy now that you're not around. I try my best, but it's really hard sometimes. The house feels so empty without you here.I can't wait until you come home for the holidays. I have so much to tell you about school and my friends. I'm sure you have a ton of crazy stories from college too! Did you know they lete some kids stay up until midnight at college? That seems way too late to me. I'd be a zombie the next day for sure.Speaking of zombies, you'll never believe what happened in Mrs. Johnson's class last week. We were learning about the human body and she brought in these plastic models to show us what everything looks like inside. It was so gross and slimy looking! When she held up the model of the brain, Tommy made zombie sound effects and started stumbling around like a walker from that show you like. The whole class cracked up! Mrs. Johnson wasn't too happy though. She made Tommy write "I will not act like a zombie in class" a hundred times on the chalkboardduring recess. I felt kind of bad for him, but it was still pretty funny.I joined the school basketball team this year. Our first game is next Saturday against Brookside Elementary. I'm a little nervous since I've never played an official game before. In practice though, I'm becoming a pretty good shooter. Coach Parker says I have an "outstanding jumpshot for a third grader." How cool is that?! The only thing I'm not great at yet is dribbling with my left hand. I really need to work on that more. You were always so good at dribbling with both hands when we playedH-O-R-S-E in the driveway. Maybe you can help me practice over winter break?Oh man, I almost forgot to tell you about the funniest thing that happened last weekend! Dad, you'll never believe this...I got stung by a bee! Can you imagine? Little ol' me getting stung by one of those crazy insects. I know I shouldn't be proud of it, but I didn't even cry when it happened. I was out playing catch in the backyard with Kyle and Joey from down the street. I missed one of Kyle's throws and the ball rolled behind Mrs. Abernathy's rosebushes. When I reached back there to grab it, WHAM, this psycho bee nailed me right on my arm! It really stung (no pun intended) like crazy at first. Joey's mom had to come get me andgive me some cream and stuff to put on it. But after a little while, it just felt like a dull ache. Kyle and Joey both started bawling when they got stung by bees last summer. I felt like such a little man not crying in front of them this time!Anyway, I should get going and start my homework. I've got a ton of math worksheets to do tonight before I can watch TV. Can you believe they make us do homework almost every night in 3rd grade now? I liked it better in 2nd grade when there was less to do. I miss those days!College sounds like a blast, but I've gotta say...I'm not sure if I want to go or not when I'm older. You get to stay up late, learn about zombie body parts, and apparently avoid getting stung by bees (I still don't know how you've never had that happen). But all the homework you have sounds like a real drag! I'll let you know if I change my mind after a few more years of school.I can't wait for you to come home and tell me all about your college adventures. If zombies haven't taken over the campus by then, that is! Study hard and make Mom and me proud!Love,Your Son篇3Dear Dad,I hope this letter finds you well in your college life! As you know, I'm still just a little kid in elementary school, but I've been learning so much and can't wait to share some of my thoughts with you. Please excuse any mistakes or silliness, but I'll do my best to write like a grown-up.First of all, I miss you a lot! The house feels so empty without your loud music, messy room, and constant snacking. Mom tries her best, but she's just not as funny as you are. I know you're studying hard and making new friends, but I hope you're also taking some time to relax and have fun. College is supposed to be the篇4Dear Dad,How are you doing? I miss you a lot! School has been going well, but it's not as much fun without you around. I can't wait until you come home for winter break so we can play video games and build Lego sets together again. But enough about me, I want to hear all about your college life! What's it like living in the dorms? Do you have a roommate? If so, is he neat and tidy like you or is he a total slob? I'll feel really bad for you if you have to live with someone messy. I know how much you hate messes! What are your classes like? Are your professors mean and give you tons of homework? Or are they fun and tell lots of jokes during lectures? I hope you've made some new friends to hang out with. It would be really sad if you didn't have any friends and just stayed in your dorm room studying all day and night. That doesn't sound like fun at all!Have you joined any clubs or student organizations yet? Maybe you could join the chess club since you're so good at chess. Or if they have a Lego club, you could enter Lego building contests! Wouldn't that be awesome?? You're definitely talented enough to win.I really want to hear all about the dining halls too. Is the food as gross as the stuff they serve us at school? Or is it actually tasty since you're a grown-up now? Do you have to wait in super long lines just to get your food? That would be so annoying! At least tell me the desserts are good. You know how much I love brownies, cookies, and ice cream!Oh, and what do you do for fun on the weekends when you don't have classes? Do you go out and explore the city yourcollege is in? Or do you just hang out on campus, maybe going to sports games or parties? Make sure you don't go to too many parties though - I don't want you getting into trouble! Although I guess a few parties would be okay as long as you don't go overboard. You are in college after all, not elementary school anymore.I'm running out of questions, but I'm sure there's a million other things I could ask about your life there. Like how the showers are (please tell me they're not as bad as the ones at summer camp!), if you've made any enemies with mean professors or bullies, and if you've traveled anywhere exciting yet with your friends. A college road trip sounds like it would be a blast! In general though, I just hope you're having an amazing time and that college is everything you dreamed it would be. You've worked so incredibly hard to get there, and you deserve an experience that's just as wonderful as you are. I'm so proud of you, Dad. Proud of your grades, your accomplishments, your kindness, and your perseverance. You're my role model. Can't wait to see you at Christmas! I'll be sure to bake you your favorite peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Maybe youcan bring some college friends home too? I'd love to meet them and hear their college stories as well. Thanks for always believing in me and encouraging me to follow my dreams, just like you followed yours. I love you!Your son,[Your name]篇5Dear Dad,Hi Dad! I'm writing this letter to tell you all about college life. I've been hearing so many cool things about it from my older friends who have siblings in college. It sounds like such an exciting adventure! I can't wait until I get to go myself someday.First off, the dorms sound awesome! From what I've heard, you get to live in these huge buildings filled with hundreds of other students. It's kind of like summer camp, but all year round! You have your own little room, and you share a common area with a few other people who become your roommates. My friend Timmy said his brother's roommate is really messy and leaves his smelly socks all over the place. Yuck! I hope I don't get a roommate like that when it's my turn.College campuses seem like the coolest places too. It's like a tiny town or village, but just for students! There are libraries, cafeterias, theaters, gyms, labs, and lecture halls all packed together. And the best part is, you can wander around outside and explore the whole campus anytime you want. No teachers yelling at you for missing class!Speaking of classes, that's probably the part I'm most curious about. I've heard college classes are really different from elementary school. The professors just lecture for an hour or two, and you have to take all your own notes. No more fun hands-on activities or arts and crafts time. My sister says you also get wayyyyy less homework, but it's all super hard! I'll definitely need your help studying when I'm in college, Dad.Then there's the dining halls, which sound like foodie heaven. Basically, it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner made for you by professional chefs every single day! You can have as much as you want of whatever looks good. Ice cream bars, pizzas, cheeseburgers, you name it. I might gain a few pounds in the dining hall, but it would be worth it for all that delicious food.College also seems like one big party from what I've heard. Apparently, there are all kinds of clubs, sports teams, fraternities, and other social events happening all the time. Schools evenhave huge dances called "formals" where everyone gets dressed up. Can you imagine me in a tuxedo, Dad? I'd look so fancy! My friends also tell me about the crazy stunts the students pull, like streaking across campus or filling the principal's office with balloons. I'll try to resist those kind of silly pranks...maybe.I can't wait to go off and experience this whole new way of life. Living on my own, making new friends, staying up late working on projects, exploring a new town. It sounds equal parts amazing and terrifying! I just know it will be a blast though. College is the first real taste of freedom and adulthood.Don't worry though Dad, I'll be sure to call you every week and let you know how I'm doing. I may be off on my own academic adventure, but you'll always be my number one guy. Thanks for being such an amazing father and putting me on the path to college! I know we'll both be counting down the days until I finally get to go.Your son,[Your name]篇6Dear Dad,I hope this letter finds you well! I'm writing to tell you all about my first few months at university. It's been such an exciting adventure so far!First off, my dorm room is pretty neat. I have my own little space with a cozy bed, desk for studying, and even a mini-fridge to keep snacks. My roommate John is really cool too. He's from another town but we've become good friends. We like to play video games together when we're not busy with classes and homework.Speaking of classes, they are quite different from my old school! The professors just lecture for an hour or so, then we have to read the textbooks and do lots of assignments on our own. I've had to learn how to manage my time better and create my own study schedule. It was hard at first, but I'm getting the hang of it. The academic workload is much higher than high school, but I find the subject material really interesting. My favorite class so far is Biology 101. We get to do all sorts of cool experiments in the labs! Last week, we studied cells under a microscope. It was amazing to see them up close. We even got to extract some DNA - just like they do on those crime shows you like to watch! Chemistry class has been pretty tough though. There are so many formulas and equations to memorize. I have to spend extra time studying for that one.Outside of academics, there is so much to do on campus. They have clubs for practically every interest you can imagine - sports, music, art, you name it! I joined the Basketball Club and the Anime Society. The basketball games are super fun, though I'm not very good. And the Anime Society is great for making friends with people who love anime and manga as much as I do.There are always events and activities happening too. Just last week, they had an outdoor movie night where they projected a film onto a big screen on one of the quads. We could bring blankets and snacks and watch under the stars. I went with a group from my dorm and we had a blast!Even though it's been a lot of work, I'm so glad I decided to go away for university instead of commuting from home. Being fully immersed in the campus lifestyle has allowed me to gain independence and really start to become my own person. Don't get me wrong, I miss all of you like crazy! But it's preparing me for the real world in a way I couldn't have experienced by staying at home.I've made so many new friends from all walks of life too. My roommate John introduced me to his friend Samantha who is aninternational student from Brazil. And in my Biology class, I befriended this really smart guy named David who wants to be a medical researcher someday. Everyone comes from such diverse backgrounds, but we're all here to learn and grow together. It's been awesome.Well Dad, I could go on and on, but I'll wrap up for now. Thank you for supporting my decision to attend university away from home. It was one of the best choices I've ever made! I'm discovering my passions, developing into an adult, and being exposed to so many new ideas and perspectives. It's challenging for sure, but so rewarding.I promise to try and call home more often. I miss hearing your voice! Maybe we can schedule a video chat this weekend? I'll be sure to give you and mom all the details in person.Love you so much!Your son,[Your name]。

给旅行的爸爸回信小学英语作文80个字全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Dad,I miss you so much while you are away on your big trip! Things just aren't the same without you here. Mom tries her best, but she's not as good at telling jokes or playing video games as you are. I can't wait until you come back home.School is going okay I guess. Mrs. Thompson is still my teacher this year. She seems nice enough, but her handwriting on the whiteboard is really hard to read sometimes. I got an A+ on my last spelling test though! The words were pretty easy like "cat", "dog", and "ball". I've been practicing my times tables too by skipping rope while repeating them out loud. I'm getting faster at the 6x and 7x ones. For show and tell last week, Billy brought in his pet guinea pig named Cinnamon. He let us all pet her and feed her some lettuce. She was really soft and cute! I wish we could get a guinea pig too, but you know how Mom is about pets. Maybe you cantalk her into it when you get home? I'll clean the cage and everything, I promise!Oh, I almost forgot the big news! Last Saturday, I lost my first tooth! I was eating an apple when it just came loose and fell right into my lap. There was a tiny spot of blood, but it didn't even hurt at all. Now there's just this big gap in the front of my mouth.I look like a jack-o-lantern when I smile! The tooth fairy came that night and left 2 under my pillow. Mom said that was an extra high price, so she must have been really impressed with how I didn't cry or anything. I've still got the tooth in my special box to show you.The weather has been pretty nice lately, so we've been able to play outside at recess. My friends and I like to pretend the playground is a fortress, and we have to defend it from the bad guy 3rd graders trying to capture it. We make sure to pat down the mulch really good so the footing is good for running around. Sometimes Tyler brings his basketball and we play horse instead.I'm not sure what we'll do for your birthday next month since you'll still be gone. Maybe we could have a video call and you can watch me blow out the candles on your cake? Either way, don't worry - I'll make sure to save you plenty of presents to open when you get back! Please hurry home soon, Dad. I'll give you a million hugs and kisses (no cooties, I promise)! Say hi to the Eiffel Tower for me.Love,Your Little Pumpkin篇2Dear Dad,I miss you so much! I can't wait until you come home from your long trip. Every day after school I look for your car outside, but you're still gone on your adventures. Mom says you're seeing amazing places, but I wish you could take me along too.Things are going okay here at home without you. Mom is taking good care of me, but she works a lot. I have to make my own lunches for school most days. I always pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, because that's my favorite. Sometimes I put chips or a cookie in there too when Mom isn't looking!School is fine, I guess. We just started a new math unit on fractions and it's really hard. Why do we even need to learn about fractions anyway? I much prefer reading time where we get to pick our own books from the library. Right now I'm reading the latest Dogman comic - they're so silly and fun!Oh, I almost forgot to tell you the big news! Last weekend, Mom finally let me get a pet hamster like I've wanted forever. I named him Nibbles. He's really cute and fuzzy. I built him a maze out of popsicle sticks and cardboard boxes, and he loves running through it. Sometimes I take him out and let him crawl on me. His little feet tickle! I just have to be careful not to let him escape.I showed Nibbles to all my friends at school during show and tell on Monday. Jacob brought his baby sister, which wasn't that exciting. But everybody thought Nibbles was awesome! Except for Emma...you know how she is afraid of everything. She screamed when Nibbles pooped a little on the desk. It wasn't that big a deal. Mr. Williams just calmly cleaned it up.In P.E. class, we've started playing kickball which is my favorite game. I'm not very good at kicking yet, but I'm a really fast runner so I can get a lot of bases that way. I was picking dandelions out on the field yesterday and made a little dandelion chain crown. I saved it in my backpack to show you when you get back!Oh no, I just looked at the clock and I have to stop writing because it's almost my bedtime. I'll try to write again soon though. I sure do miss you, Dad! I can't wait to hear all aboutyour amazing trip when you come home. Please bring me back a present!Love,Your son/daughter篇3Dear Dad,How are you? I miss you so much! I hope you're having an amazing time exploring new places and trying different foods. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures when you come back home.School has been going well, but it's not the same without you here. I got an A on my math test last week! Mrs. Johnson was really impressed with how hard I've been studying. She even said I might be ready for the advanced class next year. Isn't that exciting?Last weekend, Mom took me and Sammy to the park. We had a picnic and played on the swings and slides. Sammy tried to climb the big tree again, but Mom stopped him before he could get too high. He was pretty upset about it, but I think Mom was just worried he might fall and get hurt.Oh, I almost forgot to tell you! We got a new puppy! His name is Buddy, and he's the cutest little golden retriever you've ever seen. He's still just a baby, so he has a lot of energy and loves to play fetch. Sometimes he gets a little too excited and knocks things over, but we're working on training him to be a good boy.I wish you could see him, Dad. He's so funny and playful, and he always makes me laugh when he tries to chase his own tail. I can't wait for you to meet him! Maybe when you get back, we can all go to the dog park together.Speaking of your return, when are you coming home? I've been counting down the days on my calendar, but it seems like it's taking forever. I know you're probably having the time of your life, but I really miss having you around. The house just isn't the same without you.Anyway, I should probably stop rambling and let you get back to your adventures. Just know that I'm thinking about you every day and can't wait to see you soon. Stay safe, and don't forget to bring me back a cool souvenir!Love,[Your Name]篇4Dear Dad,Hi from home! I miss you so much. It's been two whole weeks since you left for your business trip and I can't wait until you get back. Things just aren't the same around here without you.School is going okay I guess. I got an A on my math test last week which made me really happy. You know how much I struggle with multiplication and division sometimes. I studied super hard, just like you always tell me to do. I'm going to keep working hard so I can get good grades and make you proud. But I've been having some trouble with Billy again. He's the mean kid I told you about who is always picking on me at recess. The other day he knocked my backpack out of my hands and all my books went flying everywhere. I had to spend the whole recess period picking up my stuff while he laughed at me. I tried telling the teacher but she didn't do anything about it. I don't understand why he has to be so mean to me. I never did anything to him. Maybe you can give me some advice when you get home for how to deal with bullies like that.Speaking of home, things have been a little messy with you gone. Mom has been working a lot of extra hours at her job. I've been trying my best to help out by doing my chores and cleaning up after myself, but the house is still a mess most of the time. I can't wait until you get back so you can help me and Mom get it looking nice again.Oh, and I can't forget to tell you about Buddy! He really misses you. The other day I came home from school and he had chewed up one of your old slippers. I think he was just sad because you weren't around and that was his way of showing it. I made sure to give him an extra treat and spend some more time playing fetch to cheer him up. I'm doing my best to take good care of him until you're home.Anyway, I hope your work trip is going well and you're not working too too hard. Two weeks is such a long time for you to be away. I'm counting down the days until you get back! Maybe when you return we can go do something fun together as a family. I was thinking maybe we could go camping like we did last summer? Or you could take me miniature golfing? Whatever we do I just want to spend some quality time with you.I love you so much Daddy! Please come back home soon. Things aren't the same without you here.Love,Your son/daughter篇5Dear Dad,I miss you so much! I can't wait for you to come home from your business trip. Things just aren't the same without you here.School has been okay I guess. I got an A on my spelling test last week which was really good. But I got in a little trouble for talking too much in class again. Mrs. Johnson says I need to learn to raise my hand before I blurt things out. I'll try to do better, I promise! On Saturday, Mom took us to the park to feed the ducks. Jake tried to chase one of the ducks and fell right into the pond! He was soaking wet and covered in mud. Mom was pretty mad at first, but then we all just laughed about it. I wish you could have been there, Dad. It was really funny. For my birthday next month, I really want to get a new bicycle. My old one is too small for me now since I'm getting so big and tall. A shiny red one with racing stripes would be so awesome! I could ride it all around the neighborhood thissummer. Maybe you can take me to the bike shop when you get home?I started taking karate lessons last week too. The instructor taught us how to do a front kick and break boards with our hands. It's not easy, but I'm working really hard at it. I'll have to show you some of my new moves when I get my yellow belt!Oh, I almost forgot! Sammy, our neighbor's dog, had puppies last night. They are the cutest, tiniest things! There are five of them and they're all different colors. Sammy's owners said we can come over and play with them once they're a little bigger. Don't you think it would be fun to have a puppy, Dad?Anyway, I hope your trip is going well and you're not working too, too hard. Make sure you eat more than just pizza every night! We allcan't wait for you to come back home. I'm counting down the days.Love,Your son/daughter篇6Dear Dad,I miss you soooo much! It's been two whole weeks since you left for your business trip. The house feels so empty without you here. Mom tries her best, but she's not as good at telling jokes or playing games with me like you are.School is going okay I guess. We had a spelling test last Friday and I got 18 out of 20 words right! I missed "receive" and "muscle" but Mrs. Johnson said I did a great job overall. In math class, we're learning about fractions now. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it, except when the denominators are different it gets really confusing. I'll ask you to help me practice when you get home. For gym class last week, we played kickball. I got picked for one of the team captains! My team ended up winning 12-9. I kicked a home run that went really far over the fence. The gym teacher Mr. Roberts said I have an awesome kick. Maybe I'll be a soccer player when I grow up!Oh, I almost forgot to tell you the funniest thing that happened! During art class, Billy was trying to paint a picture of a horse. But he accidentally knocked over the whole tin of blue paint and it spilled all over the floor. His clothes and face got totally covered in blue! The whole class erupted in laughter. PoorBilly just stood there looking so confused with his bright blue skin. It was hilarious! On Saturday, Mom took me and Jenny to see the new animated movie about the superhero team. It was SO COOL! The superhero kids all had awesome powers like laser eyes, super strength, and the ability to fly. My favorite part was when they defeated the evil villain and saved the city. The special effects were incredible. You're going to have to take us again when you get back so you can see it!Well, that's all my news for now. I hope your business meetings are going well and you'll be home soon. We miss you like crazy! I left you a surprise in your sock drawer that I think you'll really like. No peeking until you get back though!Love you tons,Your little slugger。

As the saying goes that frustration is the catalyst of growth, I became more mature and stronger after losing my dear father about one year. But every night when looking back on my father, I will still burst into tears,
When I was in senior two, we were all immersed in deep sorrow when my father was found seriously ill. At first, we kept seeking help from different doctors, believing that father would recover. And we tried to encourage him to be optimistic and confident .But later everything changed…
Because I was studying in a school taking enclosed type of management and far away from my hometown, I was not allowed to go home when in senior three. Every day on the phone my father said everything went well and told me not to worry about him. I believed .Not until 90 days before the college entrance examination did I learn the truth. My brother ,who studied in the same school ,found me and cried,“sister, we can’t hold it back from you any longer, mother ask us to hurry back….. dad was seriously ill......”I wa s dizzy, tears flowing out......That night I learned that my father's condition had worsened in the past half year. He didn’t allow anybody to reveal his worsening illness to me for fear that I can’t bear it and give up on study! When I arrived home in the late evening, my mother was holding my father tightly, who was moaning of pain .Seeing me, she couldn't help crying,“Y our father didn't let us tell you but now you knew what condition your father is in. Keep working hard when back to school, you know ?”I nodded, tears flowing. My father didn’t have any appetite for a long time and now was reduced almost to skeleton! His skin was dark yellow, hanging loosely around exaggerated bones! My heart ached.
During the next few days my father was almost in a coma, having no more strength for conversation. My heart was torn with grief when observing my dear father, who was once robust but frail incomparably now. “Dear dad, do you really want to leave us, alone?” In desperation, many of our relatives persuaded my brother and I to return to school, but we didn’t want to leave, because if we left, when could we meet our father again? Maybe never! However, a few days later, I had to return to school to take the Oral English Test. I called my mother the moment I finished it. My
mother cried and said,“your father has left us. He was choked with tears after you left……”All of a sudden, my heart became blank and I ran to the bathroom, wailing miserably.....
What I fear most happened, which maybe the pain one cannot bear in life. I seemed to become calm and numb. With the comfort and encouragement from my teachers and classmates, I kept working hard .But when I think of my father, my heart is painful. Father, how unfortunate you were! Y ou lived a life of hardship and toil and was still tortured by illness, so painful! Y ou left us before we could utter the words “thank you” to you!
I have been afraid of the soul before, but now I hope for the existence of soul. My mother always said that although father passed away, he will be alive in our hearts forever. However, my life will never be perfect from then on. Every night, I will dream of my father and woke up with tears. When I succeed in something, I think of dad. I want to let him know that I don’t let him down. I long to see him smiling at me again! Dear dad, I really want to be able to talk to you again! Can you hear me in the heaven?
I always believe that treating people alive well is the best memorial to the dead. Thus, My brothers and I decided to work hard to make my mother happy. This is the best choice, am I right, dear dad?。
