学情分析:本单元的知识对于同学们来说是比较新颖的,同学们除了在原来一二年级接触过一个单词run之外,其他都是一些新的知识内容,主要要求学生掌握单词shout, eat, talk, sleep, drink 和祈使句Don’t....其中对于单词shout,要注意让同学把字母组合ou的发音发到位。
老师可以把以前学过的一些动词与本课教学内容相联系起来,如run, sing, jump, dance, play football, play chess, swim, skate, draw, clean,并用Don’t....来说一说。
从内容上来看,本单元选材贴近学生生活经验,易于引起同学们的共鸣,老师除了引导学生在图书馆要遵守守则以外,教育他们也要尊周其它一些公德,对孩子进行文明礼仪素质教育,也可以设计让同学为校园设计一些标志。

Unit2 In the library泰兴市黄桥镇中心小学谢留莉My teaching designs are composed of 3 periods.Period 1 is about Story time & Song time.Period 2 talks about Fun time and Sound time.Period 3 refers to Cartoon time, Checkout time &Ticking time.Each period is closely related, they are considered as a whole in my teaching designs.As we know, the students of Grade3 are imaginative and creative. They like new things and enjoy participating in activities. They like to do things with their hands, bodies and minds while their attention span is very short. It is important for teachers to think of different ways to maintain high degrees of motivation with children.So that my teaching designs are designed as following:Firstly, I’ll talk about Period 1 Story time & Song time.The teaching design of Period 1 consists of 7 parts.Part1. Background AnalysisAnalysis of Teaching Content:Story time is a dialogue happened between Liu Tao and Yang Ling. It is mainly about Liu Tao’s impolite behaviors in the library and Yang Ling’s timely reminder that makes Liu Tao ashamed. Body language will be used when I present Story time, students like that as well as they likesongs. As a result, they will like the Song time, too.Part2. Teaching Aims and learning objectives(一)Aims on Knowledge:By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:1.read , understand and apply the following words: shout, eat, run talk, sleep.2.read, understand and apply the sentence “Don’t...”3. understand the dialogue as a whole, read it with the right pronunciation and intonation and act it out.4. sing the song correctly.(二)Aims on Skills:From this lesson, the students can:1.make a progress in reading and acting dialogues.2.be better at communication and cooperation.(三)Aims on Emotion:From this lesson, the students’ interest of learning English should be cultivated. Learn the new words: shout, eat, run, talk, sleep(1) Read the new words after the teacher with the actions.(2) Read the new words together.2.Play a gameThe game goes like this: If you see the new words from PPT, please shout the new words out with your actions. If you see some words we’ve learned before, please say “Don’t shout!”.[Purpose] New words and new sentence pattern are presented here. By playing a game, students can be more familiar with them. Games are attractive for children and are very useful and important for learning. It is not because they are fun. It is partly because fun elements create desire to speak and partly because games can create unpredictability.Step3. Story time1.Watch and answerWatch the cartoon of Story time and answer this question: We are playing games in our classroom. Where are our friends Liu Tao and Yang Ling?[Purpose] Students like watching cartoons. It can vividly present the whole story and the students can easily understand it. Due to the need of finding the answer, they will be more concentrated. After knowing theanswer to this question, the title is presented, too.2.Listen and stickListen to the tape, try to stick the signs on the working sheet. Ask them to work in pairs.[Purpose] Here, “Task-based teaching method” is used. The task is : Stick the signs in the correct place on the paper. With the task, the students will listen to the tape carefully and know what the story is mainly about. “Cooperative learning method ”is used, too. It can develop the students’communicative ability. That also helps reduce the difficulty, then the students will learn best when feeling easy.3.Read and checkRead the story one picture by one picture. Mime the actions of Liu Tao and Yang Ling. Please pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation. Meanwhile, check your stickers.[Purpose]“Task-based teaching method” is used. In order to check their answers, the students will read the story more carefully. Asking them to add their actions will make reading fun.4.Act the story out(1)Act with the teacherStudents act as Yang Ling, the teacher acts as Liu Tao. Try to act the story out with the help of the pictures.(2)Act in pairsOne is Liu Tao, the other is Yang Ling. With the help of your working sheet, try to act it out.(3)Feedback[Purpose]When acting with the students, the teacher is not the leader or organizer, but a participant. Students will be joyful to work with the teacher. After acting with the teacher, the students will know how to work in pairs. They are active and energetic. They will be fond of using their hands , bodies and voice to “colour” the story.Step4. Sing a song: Don’t talk, Tom!1.Say a rhymeSay the words of the song as a rhyme.2.Sing the song(1)Listen to the song.(2)Try to follow it.(3)Sing it with some actions.[Purpose] Saying the words of the song as a rhyme makes a good preparation for learning the song. The teacher always sings with the children, acts with the children and plays with children. That can create a pleasant atmosphere. The children will treat the teacher as their intimate friend. They will love their teacher and love having English lessons. Then they can learn English better.Step5. Summary and assessment1.Try to tell: What have you learned from this lesson?2.Have a self-assessment.The way we assess children should be positive and non-threatening. Fun time is also naturally led in.Step2. Fun time1. Play a guessing game.The game goes like this: The teacher holds the cards in one hand, then picks one of the cards with the other hand. The students try to guess which card is picked.2. Play this game in your groups.[Purpose] A guessing game is used here. The students are eager to guess. They will be interested in it. Actually, Fun time is naturally presented when the students play this game. They will be more familiar with the words and sentences presented in Period 1.Step3. Sing the song1. Sing the song: Don’t talk, Tom!2. Change the lyrics.Ask the students to change their words according to the picture. Introduce “Paul” to them. Then the words will be changed as following: Don’t walk, Paul! I want to sleep,want to sleep, want to sleep.Don’t sleep, Tim! I want to walk,want to walk, want to walk.[Purpose] By changing the words of the song, the new character Paul is introduced and the new word “walk” is presented. Children are active and imaginative.
