在《隔离岛》里，毫无疑问，岛也是一个隐喻。
有一句滥俗的话，叫“每个人都是一座孤岛”;我想我上面说的那个隐喻的本体就是指一个人的内心或者头脑吧。
“内心如岛屿”本来并不意味着绝对的封闭，相反，浩瀚的海面则暗示着它的方向。
也就是说，人与人之间虽然隔着广阔的水面，却仍然有交流的可能。
但是在隔离岛上，泰迪为自己“创作了丰富而复杂的叙事结构”，也就为自己创造了一个完全隔离的孤岛。

这部影片马丁·斯科塞瑟的作平，同时他也导了《出租车司机》这部伟大的作品。
起初因为小李子我才去看这部片子的，过后才开始补看了马丁·斯科塞斯的其他作品，他的作品用一句话来解释：是游走在纪实与荒诞之间，人道与残暴之间。
而《禁闭岛》这部电影我也认为如此。
一、情节《禁闭岛》是一定要看两次的，作为一部悬疑烧脑片，他一定有许多反转铺垫等细节之处。
第一次观看时，故事情节就是一个名叫Teddy的美国警察为了调查精神病院病人走失的案子而来到了禁闭岛。
在他调查时，他发现所有人都说着同一的陈词，像是在假装隐瞒着什么。
而Teddy自己也有所隐瞒，他之所以主动请缨调查禁闭岛的案子，是因为他要找到烧死了他妻子的精神病人Rediess，并且揭露这个精神病院的丑陋恶行——利用精神病人实验经眼眶额叶手术（就是切除人大脑当中的一个组织，手术之后就算再暴躁的人就会变得温顺，此手术也在《飞越疯人院》当中也有体现）。
Teddy的整个调查过程是十分曲折的，但终于当他到灯塔的时候，他发现其实并没有做手术的地方，而精神病院的所有人都在说Teddy是这个精神病院的第67号病人，就连他的警察搭档也是他的主治医生。
第二次观看时，观众就已经知道整个电影就是一出戏。
Rediess是禁闭岛精神病院的第67号病人。
他从军打仗时杀死了很多人，退伍之后就有了战争后遗症，每日酗酒，使得他的妻子也得了抑郁症。
得了抑郁症的妻子日日寡欢，在某一天早上烧了他们所住的公寓，于是他们就搬进了一个湖边小屋。
一天当Rediess 回到家中时，他发现妻子淹死了自己的三个小孩，他悲痛欲绝，亲手杀死了妻子。
在战争后遗症和极大的奔溃下，他的精神状态也一落千丈，他总是逃避现实，逃避他的孩子、妻子已经全死了的事实，所以塑造出一个正义的美国警察形象，而这个美国警察，就叫Teddy。

故事一是一个充满了阴谋的惊悚片，Teddy以一个刚强执着的探员的形象，一步步探险。
