It's the story of Hercules and his twelve labors!Hercules was the strongest man who ever lived. He could do anything! Even when he was a little baby, he strangled two big snakes that were trying to kill篇2My Favorite Myth StoryHi, my name is Jamie and I am 7 years old. I love myths and stories about cool heroes, monsters, and magic! My absolute favorite myth is the story of Perseus and Medusa. Let me tell you all about it!Once upon a time, there was a prince named Perseus. He lived in ancient Greece in a kingdom ruled by a mean king named Polydectes. Polydectes wanted to marry Perseus's momDanae, but she didn't want to marry him because he was so mean and ugly. One day, Polydectes had a big party and asked all the guests to bring him gifts. Perseus didn't have a present, so he told the king he would bring him anything he wanted. The sneaky king said "Then bring me the head of the gorgon Medusa!"Medusa was a lady with living snakes instead of hair. If you looked right into her eyes, you would turn into stone! Polydectes thought this was an impossible task so Perseus would fail. But Perseus was very brave.Perseus went to visit the ancient wise ladies called the Graeae. They shared one eye and one tooth among the three of them. While they were passing the eye, Perseus snatched it! He wouldn't give it back unless they told him where to find the things he needed to defeat Medusa. The Graeae told Perseus to go find the Stygian Nymphs who had winged sandals that could fly, a magic wallet to hold Medusa's head, and a helmet that made him invisible. They also said he needed a special mirrored shield from the goddess Athena so he could look at Medusa's reflection instead of directly at her. After getting all those awesome magical items, Perseus flew to the Gorgons' island on his winged sandals while wearing his invisible helmet. Using his mirrored shield, he could see Medusa and her snake hair while safely looking at her reflection. When Medusa was asleep, Perseus snuck up and — SLICEEE! — he chopped off her head with his sword! He put the head in his magic wallet. On his way home, he used Medusa's head to turn a mean sea monster into a rock. Finally, Perseus went back to the kingdom. Polydectes was so mean and didn't believe Perseus had actually cut off Medusa's head. So at a gathering, Perseus opened his wallet and showed everyone the gorgon's head! Polydectes and his mean friends all got turned to stone when they looked at it.Perseus gave the head to the goddess Athena, and she put it on her shield. Then he went and lived happily ever after with his mom. I love this story because Perseus is so brave and clever, and he defeats the mean people in the end! Plus he has really cool magical powers and weapons. That's the awesome story of the hero Perseus and the gorgon Medusa. What did you think? Did you like hearing about the winged sandals, invisible helmet, and magical wallet? Andhow crazy is it that Medusa had snakes for hair and could turn people to stone?! Myths are the best!篇3My Favorite Myth StoryHi, my name is Tommy and I'm 7 years old. Today I want to tell you about my very favorite myth story. It's called "Hercules and His Twelve Labors". I love this story because Hercules is so strong and has to do all these crazy hard tasks!Once upon a time, there was a prince named Hercules. He was the son of Zeus, the king of all the gods on Mount Olympus. Even as a baby, Hercules was super strong! One time, he strangled two snakes that were trying to attack him in his crib. Whoa! When Hercules grew up, he accidentally killed someone. As a punishment, he had to go do twelve really difficult and dangerous labors for King Eurystheus. These were called the Twelve Labors of Hercules. The first labor was to kill the Nemean Lion, a giant monster lion with fur as tough as rock! Hercules tried hitting it with his club and arrows, but nothing worked. Finally, he strangled it with his bare hands! How crazy is that? Then, he had to kill the Lernean Hydra, a slimy serpent monster with nine heads. Even after he chopped the heads off, two new ones would grow back! Luckily, Hercules brought his nephew Iolaus to help burn the stumps so no more heads could regrow. After that, Hercules was told to capture the Ceryneian Hind, a beautiful golden deer with bronze antlers and hooves of steel. It could outrun any arrow! Hercules chased it on foot for a whole year before finally trapping it in some deep snow. The fourth labor sounds easy - he just had to catch an Erymanthian Boar. But this was no normal pig! It was a massive, super strong, man-eating boar. Hercules chased it through thick forests and deep snow until he finally caught it in a snowdrift.Next, Hercules had to clean out the Augean Stables in just one day. These were the nasty stables where 1,000 cattle lived. They were never cleaned and had years of smelly poop everywhere! Hercules was so clever - he rerouted two rivers to flush out all the gross mess in a single day. Then, the crazy king made Hercules get rid of the Stymphalian Birds. These were vicious, man-eating birds with razor sharp metal beaks and wings. They lived on a lake, making the whole area unsafe. Using a rattle invented by the god Athena,Hercules scared them into the air and shot them all with his arrows! The seventh labor was to capture the Cretan Bull, a ferocious bull monster that breathed fire. After wearing it down, Hercules wrestling it to the ground and dragged it back to Eurystheus. What a scene that must have been! The next task was to bring back the human-eating mares of Diomedes. These were four crazy powerful horses that ate people! Hercules overpowered their grooms and led the mares all the way back home. After that, Hercules traveled to the land of the Amazons, a nation of female warrior women. His mission was to steal the Girdle of Hippolyta, the Amazon queen. The Amazons put up a huge fight, but Hercules beat them and got the magical girdle. For his tenth labor, Eurystheus ordered Hercules to bring him the Cattle of Geryon, a monster with three bodies and three heads! Geryon also had a two-headed dog named Orthrus guarding his cattle herd. Hercules killed Orthrus, Geryon, and rounded up the cattle. Then, Hercules just had two labors left. He had to fetch the golden apples from the Garden of Hesperides, which wereguarded by a 100-headed dragon! Luckily, Atlas (who holds up the whole world) took the burden so Hercules could get the apples. The final labor was to capture Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guards the underworld of the dead. Hercules went down there, wrestling and choking Cerberus unconscious so he could drag it back up!After finishing all twelve labors, Hercules became a true hero and was made immortal on Mount Olympus. He battled lots of other crazy monsters and did many more adventures too!Wasn't that an awesome story? I love how Hercules was so strong and brave and never gave up, no matter what crazy task he had to do. My favorite labors were strangling the Nemean Lion, cleaning those super gross stables, and capturing Cerberus from the underworld. What did you like best? I hope you enjoyed hearing about the Twelve Labors as much as I love this classic myth!篇4My Favorite Myth StoryHi friends! Today I want to tell you about my totally awesome favorite myth story. It's the story of Hercules and hisTwelve Labors. Hercules was this super strong and brave guy from Ancient Greek myths. He had to do twelve really hard jobs to make up for a mistake he made. Let me tell you all about his cool adventures!Labor 1: Slay the Nemean LionFirst up, Hercules had to fight the Nemean Lion. This was no regular kitty - it was a massive lion with fur as tough as armor that regular weapons couldn't hurt it. But Hercules was smart. He strangled it with his bare hands and then skinned it with its own claws. That lion skin cape became his trademark look.Labor 2: Slay the Lernean HydraNext Hercules had to take down the Lernean Hydra, a terrifying snake monster. Here's the crazy part - every time he cut off one of its heads, two more would grow back! His friend finally helped by burning the stumps so no more could regrow. He ended up defeating this nine-headed beast.Labor 3: Capture the Ceryneian HindThe third labor was capturing the Ceryneian Hind, a powerful deer monster with golden horns. Hercules respected that it belonged to the goddess Artemis, so he politely asked her permission first. After a yearlong chase, he finally trapped it.Labor 4: Capture the Erymanthian BoarCan you imagine trying to catch a massive, man-eating wild boar? That was labor four for Hercules! He drove the boar into deep snow to safely capture it. I wouldn't want to mess with that tusked terror!Labor 5: Clean the Augean StablesGross! For his fifth labor, Hercules had to clean up years' worth of manure and muck from the super messy Augean stables. The cattle king Augeas tried to trick him by not paying, but Hercules got his reward eventually.Labor 6: Kill the Stymphalian BirdsThese man-eating, sharp metal feather shooting birds were no joke. Hercules got creative, scaring them away from their marsh home by clanging brass plates. Crisis averted! Those birds were jerks.Labor 7: Capture the Cretan BullA guy had to wrestle down a massive, aggressive,fire-breathing bull as his seventh labor. That guy? You guessed it - Hercules! The bull didn't stand a chance against those legendary muscles. Hercules showed that beast who was boss.Labor 8: Obtain the Horses of DiomedesBuckle up for this one! Hercules had to steal some ferocious, man-eating horses from their owner, the warrior Diomedes. Taming those vicious stallions was no small feat, but Hercules fed their cruel master to the very horses to teach them a lesson.Labor 9: Obtain the Girdle of HippolytaFor his ninth labor, Hercules traveled all the way to the legendary Amazon nation of female warriors. He had to obtain the girdle (like a special belt) from their fierce queen Hippolyta. He charmed her into handing it over, only to face an Amazon attack! Clever guy escaped in the end.Labor 10: Obtain the Cattle of GeryonThis three-headed, six-legged monster Geryon was one freaky dude guarding some special cattle. Hercules had to journey all the way to a island at the ends of the earth to take them. He slayed Geryon's vicious guard dog in the process too. What a trip!Labor 11: Obtain the Apples of the HesperidesThe eleventh labor required stealing golden apples from a grove guarded by a ferocious dragon. Only a little help fromAtlas holding up the sky made it possible for Hercules to swipe the magic apples. Wild!Labor 12: Capture CerberusFor his final huge challenge, Hercules traveled all the way to the Underworld itself. He had to capture Cerberus, the vicious three-headed dog guarding the land of the dead. With his brawn and bravery, he managed to drag the beast up to the surface world before returning it safely.Whew! Can you believe Hercules made it through all of those crazy, monster-filled labors? He really was the strongest and bravest hero ever. Listening to his epic adventures full of hydras, lions, birds, beasts and more makes me want to go on a fantasy quest too! Maybe I'll chase down the ice cream truck next. This myth story is definitely my favorite. Thanks for reading!篇5My Favorite Myth: The Story of Icarus and DaedalusHi, my name is Emily and I'm going to tell you about my favorite myth from ancient Greece. It's called the story of Icarus and Daedalus. Get ready because it's a really cool and crazy story!A long time ago, there was a super smart inventor named Daedalus who lived on an island called Crete with his son Icarus. Daedalus made amazing things out of wood and stone and metal. He was the best builder ever! But the king of Crete, whose name was Minos, didn't like Daedalus very much. Minos got really mad at Daedalus for something he did, so he locked them up in a tall tower on the island. The tower was like a prison with no doors or windows at the bottom, only at the very top. Minos thought there was no way Daedalus and Icarus could ever escape from the tower and fly away from the island. But Daedalus was way too clever for mean old Minos. He's the smartest man who ever lived! Daedalus had a genius plan to escape using wings made of feathers and wax. He spent day after day making two pairs of huge wings, one for him and one for Icarus. Finally, the wings were ready. Before they tried to fly away, Daedalus warned Icarus, "Don't fly too high or the sun will melt the wax off your wings. And don't fly too low or the sea spray will soak your feathers and weigh you down. Follow me and obey exactly what I say."Icarus said, "Okay dad, I'll be careful and listen to you."So bright and early the next morning, Daedalus and Icarus strapped on the huge feathery wings and took a few practice flaps around the tower room. Then they jumped off the edge and began flapping their wings hard, rising up into the sky above Crete.Icarus couldn't believe it - he was really flying like a bird! The wind rushed through his hair and the ground got smaller and smaller below him. "Woohooooo!" he yelled, flapping his wings and soaring higher and higher into the bright blue sky."Icarus! Be careful, don't go too high!" shouted Daedalus, but Icarus wasn't listening anymore. Flying was the most amazing, thrilling feeling ever and he didn't want it to stop.Higher and higher Icarus flew towards the blazing hot sun. "I can go as high as I want!" he shouted recklessly, the feathers on the wings getting hotter and hotter.Uh oh, now the wax holding the wings together was starting to melt from the intense heat of the sun! One by one the feathers fell off until finally, with nothing left to keep him in the air, poor Icarus tumbled back down towards the earth, flailing his arms desperately."Icarus! Noooo!" Daedalus cried, watching in horror as Icarus fell thousands of feet into the sea below and disappeared underneath the rolling waves. Even though Daedalus searched for days, he never found his son's body and knew that Icarus must have drowned in the sea that is now called the Icarian Sea, named after him.Daedalus made it safely across the sea to another island. Even though he was very sad that his son had disobeyed him and died, at least they were free from the prison tower.Whenever I think about how Icarus soared too close to the sun and fell to his death in the sea, it reminds me of that saying, "Don't get too big for your britches!" It means you shouldn't think you're better than everyone else or get conceited and full of yourself. Icarus let his confidence and excitement make him careless and it led to his downfall. That's the tragic but exciting myth of Daedalus and Icarus that teaches an important lesson - listen to instructions, don't be reckless, and never think you're too cool to follow the rules! It may have happened a bazillion years ago, but it's one of the most famous Greek myths ever and people still tell the story today. The end! How'd you like my retelling of the myth? Pretty crazy story, right? Let me know if you want to hear another one of the amazing Greek myths. I know tons of them!。
