乌鸦 爱伦坡

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -Only this, and nothing more.'Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrowFrom my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore - Nameless here for evermore. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtainThrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating`'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door -Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; -This it is, and nothing more,'Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer,`Sir,' said I, `or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping,And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door,That I scarce was sure I heard you' - here I opened wide the door; - Darkness there, and nothing more.Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream beforeBut the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore!'This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore!' Merely this and nothing more.Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning,Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before.`Surely,' said I, `surely that is something at my window lattice;Let me see then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore -Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore; -'Tis the wind and nothing more!'Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore. Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door - Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door - Perched, and sat, and nothing more. Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,' I said, `art sure no craven. Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore -Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning - little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human beingEver yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door -Bird or beast above the sculptured bust above his chamber door,With such name as `Nevermore.'But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before -On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.'Then the bird said, `Nevermore.'Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken,`Doubtless,' said I, `what it utters is its only stock and store,Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful disasterFollowed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore -Till the dirges of his hope that melancholy burden boreOf "Never-nevermore."'But the raven still beguiling all my sad soul into smiling,Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird and bust and door; Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linkingFancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore -What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore Meant in croaking `Nevermore.'This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressingTo the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease recliningOn the cushion's velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o'er,But whose velvet violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o'er,She shall press, ah, nevermore! Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer Swung by Seraphim whose foot-falls tinkled on the tufted floor.`Wretch,' I cried, `thy God hath lent thee - by these angels he has sent theeRespite - respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore!Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!'Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil! - Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted -On this home by horror haunted - tell me truly, I implore -Is there - is there balm in Gilead? - tell me - tell me, I implore!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'`Prophet!' said I, `thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil!By that Heaven that bends above us - by that God we both adore - Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels named Lenore - Clasp a rare and radiant maiden, whom the angels named Lenore?' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'`Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!' I shrieked upstarting - `Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken! - quit the bust above my door!Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!' Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.'And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sittingOn the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floorShall be lifted - nevermore!

The Japanese are non-confrontational.. They have a difficult time saying 'no', so you must be vigilant at observing their non-verbal communication.. It is best to phrase questions so that they can answer yes. For example, do you disagree with this? Group decision-making and consensus are important.. Written contracts are required.. The Japanese often remain silent for long periods of time. Be patient and try to work out if your Japanese colleagues have understood what was said.. Japanese prefer broad agreements and mutual understanding so that when problems arise they can be handled flexibly.. Using a Japanese lawyer is seen as a gesture of goodwill. Note that Japanese lawyers are quite different from Western lawyers as they are much more functionary.. Never lose your temper or raise your voice during negotiations.. Some Japanese close their eyes when they want to listen intently.. The Japanese seldom grant concession. They expect both parties to come to the table with their best offer.. The Japanese do not see contracts as final agreements so they can be renegotiated.Dining EtiquetteOn the rare occasion you are invited to a Japanese house:. Remove your shoes before entering and put on the slippers left at the doorway.. Leave your shoes pointing away from the doorway you are about to walk through.. Arrive on time or no more than 5 minutes late if invited for dinner.. If invited to a large social gathering, arriving a little bit later than the invitation is acceptable, although punctuality is always appreciated.. Unless you have been told the event is casual, dress as if you were going into the office.. If you must go to the toilet, put on the toilet slippers and remove them when you are finished. Meeting Etiquette. Greetings in Japan are very formal and ritualized.. It is important to show the correct amount of respect and deference to someone based upon their status relative to your own.. If at all possible, wait to be introduced.. It can be seen as impolite to introduce yourself, even in a large gathering.. While foreigners are expected to shake hands, the traditional form of greeting is the bow. How far you bow depends upon your relationship to the other person as well as the situation. The deeperyou bow, the more respect you show.. A foreign visitor ('gaijin') may bow the head slightly, since no one expects foreigners to generally understand the subtle nuances of bowing.Gift Giving Etiquette. Gift-giving is highly ritualistic and meaningful.. The ceremony of presenting the gift and the way it is wrapped is as important--sometimes more important--than the gift itself.. Gifts are given for many occasions.. The gift need not be expensive, but take great care to ask someone who understands the culture to help you decide what type of gift to give.. Good quality chocolates or small cakes are good ideas.. Do not give lilies, camellias or lotus blossoms as they are associated with funerals.. Do not give white flowers of any kind as they are associated with funerals.. Do not give potted plants as they encourage sickness, although a bonsai tree is always acceptable. . Give items in odd numbers, but not 9.. If you buy the gift in Japan, have it wrapped.. Pastel colours are the best choices for wrapping paper.. Gifts are not opened when received.Understanding of Foreign Ways. Japanese understand that it is very difficult for foreigners to work in Japan.. They will not expect you to speak or read Japanese, or be conversant with their strict cultural nuances and protocol.. Mistakes are allowed as long as genuine respect is shown at all times.. They will usually try to help you but often feel embarrassment at their own lack of understanding or English language ability.Relationships & Communication. The Japanese prefer to do business on the basis of personal relationships.. In general, being introduced or recommended by someone who already has a good relationship with the company is extremely helpful as it allows the Japanese to know how to place you in a hierarchy relative to themselves.. One way to build and maintain relationships is with greetings / seasonal cards.. It is important to be a good correspondent as the Japanese hold this in high esteem.Business Meeting Etiquette. Appointments are required and, whenever possible, should be made several weeks in advance. . It is best to telephone for an appointment rather than send a letter, fax or email.. Punctuality is important. Arrive on time for meetings and expect your Japanese colleagues will do the same.. Since this is a group society, even if you think you will be meeting one person, be prepared for a group meeting.. The most senior Japanese person will be seated furthest from the door, with the rest of the people in descending rank until the most junior person is seated closest to the door.. It may take several meetings for your Japanese counterparts to become comfortable with you and be able to conduct business with you.. This initial getting to know you time is crucial to laying the foundation for a successful relationship. . You may be awarded a small amount of business as a trial to see if you meet your commitments. . If you respond quickly and with excellent service, you prove your ability and trustworthiness.. Never refuse a request, no matter how difficult or non- profitable it may appear. The Japanese are looking for a long-term relationship.. Always provide a package of literature about your company including articles and client testimonials.. Always give a small gift, as a token of your esteem, and present it to the most senior person at the end of the meeting. Your Japanese contact can advise you on where to find something appropriate.GreetingsGreetings are considered to be of extreme importance in Japanese culture. Students in elementary and secondary schools are often admonished to deliver greetings with energy and vigor. A lazy greeting is regarded with the type of disdain that would accompany a limp handshake in parts of the West.Simply walking off without saying anything is frowned upon. When parting, instead of simply saying goodbye, it is common to make a wish to meet again.。

then on, merchants could travel on the silk route safely, and they began to explore this new route in order to carry silk from China to other parts of the world.
The
Silk Road formally started after Zhang Qian’s visiting as an envoy to Western Region in Western Han Dynasty. He went there twice separately in 138 B.C and 119 B.C. He plays an important role in exploring the Silk Road.
Loulan,
Guizi and Yutian were three important states in the Western Region at that time. They were all abandoned for uncertain reasons and travelers today can see ruins of these three once flourishing places.

The
expansion of the Han empire made the Silk road possible by opening up trade routes.
order to protect these caravans and assure the safety of the trade, the Han Government dispatched General ZhangQian as an envoy to build good relationships with these tribes.

This may affect the s-process through lengthening of the He-burning lifetime and an increase in the amount of material that experiences neutron irradiation.Indeed, matter originally lying in stellar regions with temperatures that are too low to allow the main neutron source to work(22Ne(α,n)25Mg becomes effec-tive at temperatures T 2.5×108K)would be mixed towards central hotter regions, while a change of the He-burning life-time would directly change the s-process lifetime.Langer et al.(1989)used two30M⊙star models(with-out and with overshooting)to study the overshooting effect on the s-process in massive stars. They conclude that overshoot-ing leads to an increase in s-nuclei production(see their Table 2)with an enhancement factor of about1.5-2onfinal mass fractions and an increase in the average number of captured neutrons per nucleus of56Fe from a value of3.6to a value of 4.5.We re-examined the impact of overshooting on the s-process not only because a comprehensive study of the role of overshooting on s-nucleosynthesis is needed in the frame-work of recent nuclear data and stellar models, but also because the approach of Langer et al.(1989)for overshooting is based on a simple artificial enhancement of the convective core ex-tension by a40%fraction of pressure scale height, while we used a more sophisticated approach based on a diffusive algo-rithm.In this approach an“overshooting parameter”f deter-mines the extension of convectively mixed core, with the over-all efficiency of overshooting described by a diffusion equa-tion(see Sect.2.1for more details). This approach has already been tested with some success for the Sun in order tofind a solution to the lithium depletion puzzle(see e.g.Bl¨o cker et al. 1998;Schlattl&Weiss1999).Of course the overshooting in massive stars is different,as it is concerned with the“outer”border of the central convection zone, while the Sun is charac-terised by overshooting through the“inner”border of the ex-ternal convection zone. However,Salasnich et al.(1999)inves-tigated the internal convection zone in massive stars using dif-fusion to model the convective overshooting. They give some indications of how to modify the overshooting parameter in or-der to account for the observed distribution of massive stars across the HR diagram, and,in particular, they claim a value of about f=0.015for20M⊙stellar models for a setting of this parameter.Other authors(Young et al.2001)suggest that the overshooting parameter may be mass-dependent and that massive stars probably require a higher f value. Thus, since the proper f value is still being debated,we examine a whole range of its possible values in this paper. Moreover, our study may be of interest in p-process mod-ellings,because some of the problems in the model for the p-process(taking place in the type II supernovae O-Ne layers) might be linked to uncertainties in the s-process weak compo-nent efficiency(Paper I;Paper II;Rayet et al.2001;Arnould& Goriely2003),since the relevant nuclides are p-process seeds.2.Input physics2.1.Stellar modelA preliminary set of nucleosynthesis calculations was per-formed with the same stellar data as in Papers I and II.It is basically the model of a He star of8M⊙taken from Nomoto &Hashimoto(1988),which is supposed to correspond to a 25M⊙at the ZAMS.This model treats convection with the standard mixing length theory and does not include overshoot-ing or mass loss. Our new calculations were performed with the stellar evo-lution code Star2003,with the Garching stellar evolution code (Weiss&Schlattl2000)as its basis, and the models were evolved starting from ZAMS until the end of core He-burning.Mixing was modelled within a diffusion approach(Bl¨o cker et al.1998,Freytag et al.1996),and abundance changes of the 12considered nuclear species were calculated with the follow-ing diffusion equation:dX∂t nuc+∂∂m rmix,(1)where thefirst term on the right is the time derivative of a given nuclidic mass fraction due to nuclear reactions, while the sec-ond is the diffusive term that describes mixing. The derivatives were calculated with respect to the radial stellar mass m r,while the other symbols used in Eq.1have their standard meaning. The difference among convective, overshooting, and radiative regions lies in the value used for the diffusion coefficient D.In convective zones, the diffusion coefficient is given by:D conv=1H v;H v=f·H p(3)where D0is taken as equal to the value of D conv at the up-per radial edge of the convection zone established through the Schwarzchild criterion;z=|r−r edge|is the radial distance from the same edge;H p is the pressure scale height, while f is the overshooting parameter that determines the overall efficiency of overshooting and the extension of the convectively mixed core. For radiative zones, the diffusion coefficient was put to zero, and abundance changes were only due to the nuclear re-action term.As for energy generation and chemical evolution, the code includes a hydrogen burning network(pp chain,CNO cycle)V.Costa,M.L.Pumo,A.Bonanno,and R.A.Zappal`a:The s-process weak component3 and a He-C-O network, following the evolution of12nuclides(1H,3He,4He,12C,13C,14N,15N,16O,17O,20Ne,24Mg,28Si).Reaction rates were taken from Caughlan et al.(1985).Therate of12C(α,γ)16O is about20%higher than the one reportedin the NACRE compilation(Angulo et al.1999),which is alsothe one included in the s-process reaction network describedin Sect.2.2.1.This choice was made in order to make ourresults comparable to those obtained in Papers I and II.Notethat the12C(α,γ)16O rate from Caughlan et al.(1985)is insidethe uncertainty range reported in NACRE.Calculations entirelybased on updated rates will be presented in a future paper. As for the equation of state, the OPAL01EOS tables areused, which are an updated version of the OPAL96tables,revised according to the prescriptions by Rogers(2001)(seeBonanno et al.2002for details). The OPAL opacity(Iglesias&Rogers1996)are used, implemented in the low-temperatureregime by the tables of Alexander&Ferguson(1994).2.2.The nucleosynthesis codeOur new s-nucleosynthesis code uses a differential equationsolver that is based on the implicit Kaps-Rentrop method, which provides an estimate of the“truncation error”associ-ated with each single integration step(see Press et al.1996fordetails).In this way settings concerning precision requests canbe based on truncation error constraints. Some numerical testson the Kaps-Rentrop method and a comparison with other nu-merical solving procedures can be found in Timmes(1999).The s-process calculations reported by Papers I and II,Rayetet al.(1995),and Rayet&Hashimoto(2000)were based onthe Wagoner two-step linearisation procedure(Wagoner1969).The Wagoner method does not provide any error estimate, sothat precision is only based on putting a limit on the relativevariations of isotopic abundances from one time step to thenext.The“post-processing”technique is used to couple the nu-cleosynthesis simulations with stellar evolution data. This tech-nique can easily be applied to radiative zones, where nucle-osynthesis occurs according to local physical conditions.Theprescriptions described by Prantzos et al.(1987)are used forthe convective core, but as they do not say how to include theeffects from changes in the convection zone borders’positionwith time,we added the prescription described by Kippenhahn&Weigert(1990)to include this effect. If˙X is the“local”rate of change of the mass fraction ofa given nuclide(due to local physical conditions),˙m1and˙m2are the time derivatives of convection zone borders’position(mass coordinates),M c=(m2−m1)is the convection zonemass extension, and X1and X2the mass fractions of the samenuclide just below and above the convection zone,as a massfraction discontinuity can generally be present in convectionzone borders. Then ifχis the average mass fraction uniformlyvalid over the whole convection zone for the given nuclide, thenthe rate of change ofχmay be expressed as follows:˙χ=11Available online at http://www.astro.ulb.ac.be/Netgen/2Initial The s-process efficiency reflects this feature,too.5.2.Possible contribution from subsequent burningstagesArcoragi et al.(1991)suggest that core C-burning and shell He-burning should not cause significant changes to the heavy (A 60)nuclide abundances, but the models they developed do not include overshooting.Other authors(Raiteri et al.1993, The et al.2000,Hoffman et al.2001,Woosley et al.2002)sug-gest that shell C-burning and other subsequent phases might significantly modify the heavy nuclide abundances.According to Tables1and2(see the m.c.z.m.e.value),the adopted f value does have a big impact on the maximum extension of the con-vection zone, and a value near9M⊙is obtained for f=0.035. This might bring s-nuclei that are already produced and some 22Ne towards layers that could be engulfed into subsequent shell-burning stages. Some additional investigation of the pos-sible contribution from post-core-He-burning stages should be performed, taking uncertainties from stellar evolution and nu-6V .Costa,M.L.Pumo,A.Bonanno,and R.A.Zappal`a :The s-process weakcomponentFig.3.Mass extension of the convection zone (in unit of M ⊙)as a function of time during the core He-burning s-process for the α=1.7,f =0.02model (solid line)and for the α=1.7,f =0.025model (dottedline).Fig.4.Overproduction factors for the s-nuclei within the mass range 70≤A ≤130.Solid lines show results coming from Paper I,while the dotted line shows our results for the α=2.0,f =0.01model.The labels R i (i =1to 3)refer to the value of the 22Ne(α,n)25Mg reaction rate used for s-process calcula-tions in Paper I (see Paper I for the definition of the various R i values).clear physics into account. We are convinced that uncertain-ties in stellar evolution calculations, particularly those concern-ing post-He burning phases,do not allow any final conclusion about the possible contribution of post-He burning phases to the s-process yields.5.3.Impact on the p processA comparison of our s-process results with those of Paper I(see Fig.4)shows that our most e fficient s-process is situated between the results obtained in Paper I with the rate R 1and the ones with the rate R 2,which means that our results only seem to help a little for the well-known problem of the underproduc-tion of light p-isotopes in current p-process models (Paper I,Rayet et al.2001).However,given the fact that the argument for the possible enhancement of the 22Ne(α,n)25Mg reaction rate is still being discussed (Jaeger et al.2001,Koehler 2002),a combination of a “moderately”enhanced s-process (referring to what would be needed for the p-process model to be satis-factory)by means of a stellar model based on overshooting, and a slightly enhanced 22Ne(α,n)25Mg reaction rate (like the R 2value reported in Paper I)might possibly bring the light p-isotopes abundances coming from the p-process type II super-nova model in line with the solar distribution.6.Summary and final commentsMany s-process simulations have been performed so far by var-ious authors, but there is still a lack of a detailed scrutiny of the impact of stellar evolution modelling uncertainties on the s-process weak component. In this paper we have shown the role of overshooting on the s-process in massive stars.Stellar models of 25M ⊙with initial Z =0.02metallicity have been developed until He exhaustion in the core, using a range of values for the overshooting parameter f .Then models were used to “post-process”the stellar nuclidic composition with a new s-nucleosynthesis code.Models with overshooting give higher s-process e fficiency compared to no-overshooting models,as concluded by Langer et al.(1989)with their simplified treatment of overshooting. However, our enhancements in the average overproduction (factors of about 2to 3)are slightly higher than theirs (fac-tors of about 1.5to 2),and similar behaviour is found for the corresponding n c values (4.2-5.6and 3.6-4.5,respectively),al-though their stellar model treats a 30M ⊙star, which should be expected to give a more e fficient s-process than our 25M ⊙stel-lar models (Prantzos et al.1990;The et al.2000).Less important, but not negligible, variations are obtained when changing the overshooting parameter f value in the 0.01−0.035range,and the link between the f value and the s-process indicators values is nearly monotonic. As regards the connection between s-and p-process,the increase in e fficiency of the s-process might possibly help with the problem of underproduction with respect to solar of light p-isotopes in type II supernovae.Other studies of stars with di fferent mass and metallicity are needed to confirm our conclusions.Acknowledgements.The authors wish to thank H.Schlattl for useful suggestions for using of the stellar evolution code Star2003,and M.Arnould for valuable suggestions and a critical reading of an early draft of this manuscript.V.Costa,M.L.Pumo,A.Bonanno,and R.A.Zappal`a:The s-process weak component7ReferencesAikawa,M.,Arnould,M.,Goriely,S.,Jorissen,A.,Takahashi,K.2005,A&A,in press(NETGEN)Alexander,D.R.,&Ferguson,J.W.1994,ApJ,437,879Anders,E.,&Grevesse,N.1989,Geochim.Cosmochim.Acta,53,1, 196Angulo,C.,Arnould,M.,Rayet,M.,et al.1999,Nucl.Phys.A,656, 3(NACRE)Arcoragi,J.-P.,Langer,N.,Arnould,M.1991,A&A,249,134 Arnould,M.,&Goriely,S.2003,Phys.Rep.,384,1Bl¨o cker,T.,Holweger,H.,Freytag,B.,et al.1998,Space Sci.Rev., 85,105Bonanno,A.,Schlattl,H.,Patern`o,L.2002,A&A,390,1115 Busso,M.,Gallino,R.,Wasserburg,G.J.1999,ARA&A,37,239 Busso,M.,Gallino,R.,Lambert,D.L.,Travaglio,C.,Smith,V.V.2001,ApJ,557,802Caughlan,G.R.,Fowler,W.A.,Harris,M.J.,Zimmerman,B.A.1985, At.Data Nucl.Data Tables,32,197Clayton, D.
