As the universities are becoming more and more competitive, the students nowadays get much more academic work than they used to. Doing various kinds of works at the same time, in order to finish the projects and papers quicker is the most popular choice among students. However, from my point of view, concentrate on one single task can greatly enhance the efficiency of working, and may also stimulate one’s motivation of completing the next one.
To begin with, only a singletasker can be alert and sharp all the time, and their work can be highly effective. Since the time and energy is limited for our humanities, we should pursue industriousness and efficiency when doing our projects. It is hard to go into a depth of the tasks when you do two or more projects desultorily, and if you do two or more tasks at the same time, you can not finish them with good quality, so they might influence each other and affect your efficiency, especially when the two tasks are mutually exclusive. Nevertheless, I would like to suggest you capture the tasks one by one. For example, when a piano competition is coming with a mathematics test, you are going to feel difficult of preparing them well at the same time, and so prepare for your competition first, then go into the mathematical questions. Remember, step by step is always the most beneficial way to improve the efficiency.
On the top of that, when you finish a task perfectly, your personal fulfillment can install confidence into your heart, which can stimulate your motivation of doing your projects and forms a benign cycle. Completing the projects one by one rather than juggling several tasks can help not only do your work faster, but also when it is finished, the sense of accomplishment will arise spontaneously. For instance, when students are going over the textbook for their final exam, the teachers always lead them to divide their textbooks into chapters. Review the knowledge from the first chapter and proceeding to undertake the next one kindles the students some achievability of finishing the task.
Finally, I have to say that when under some special circumstances, such as you are easily distracted when doing only one task or you have to do two tasks at the same time, working on two tasks or more is truly has some reasons. If you have six subjects to test on in your final exam, then you will have to do six projects in total. However, what I want to point out is in most circumstances, each individual should concentrate on only one task and then the next.
In conclusion, singletaskers can achieve a better efficiency of doing work, and are motivated to finish the next challenge as well. Thus, the individuals with macro and strategic foresight would choose to do one task at one time.。
