It's a New Year. And with our economy growing and a strong, majority government in power,Britain begins it with renewed strength. There are no New Year's resolutions for us, just an ongoing resolve to deliver what wepromised.Security – at every stage of your life.Over 31 million people will begin the year in work – more than any in our history.Six million children will start the new term at a good or outstanding school.More than half a million workers will be taken out of income tax in April, as everyone apart fromthe very best paid gets a tax cut and, for the lowest paid, there will be a new National LivingWage.Meanwhile, millions more will benefit from the free childcare, new academies, rising pensionsand extra apprenticeships that we committed to in our manifesto, all as a result of our long-term economic plan.We also promised something else in our manifesto: giving you a say on Europe. Now we aredelivering on that promise. There will be an in-out referendum by the end of 2019 – it iswritten into the law of the land. I am negotiating hard to fix the things that most annoy Britishpeople about our relationship with the EU.There is just one thing that drives me: what is best for the national interest of our country? But in the end it will be for you to decide: is our economicand national security in a dangerousworld better protected by being in, or out?We also go into the year confronting some deep social problems, ones that have blighted ourcountry for too long.I want 2019 to be the time when we really start to conquer them – a crucial year in this greatturnaround decade.Because with economic renewal and social reform, we can make everyone's lives moresecure. So if you're one of the many hard-working young people locked out of the housing market, wewill deliver the homes that will help lead you to your own front door.If you're off school or out of work, trapped in an underworld of addiction, abuse, crime andchaos, we will sweep away state failure and help give you stability. If your dreams have been dashed simply because of who you are, we will fight discriminationand deliver real opportunity, to help lay your path to success. And we will take on another social problem, too. When our national security is threatened by a seething hatred of the west, one that turnspeople against their country and can even turn them into murderous extremists. I want us tobe very clear: you will not defeat us. And we will not just confront the violence and theterror. We will take on their underlying, poisonous narrative of grievance and resentment. Wewill come down hard on those who create the conditions for that narrative to flourish. And wewill have greater confidence in – indeed, we will revel in – our way of life.Because if you walk our streets, learn in our schools, benefit from our society, you sign up toour values: freedom; tolerance; responsibility; loyalty. These are the big challenges of our age, some of the biggest our nation has ever faced. And thisyear is a test of our mettle.Whether we put up with poverty – or put an end to it, ignore the glass ceiling – or smash it,abandon the tenant – or help make them a homeowner, appease the extremist – or takeapart their ideology, piece by piece. We'll get Britain a better deal in Europe, give families the peace of mind they crave and we'llmake our country even more secure. That's what this year – this turnaround decade – is all about. So let me wish everyone the very best and a very Happy New Year.。

Ladies and gentlemen,Good afternoon and Happy Easter!Today, as we gather together on this joyous occasion of Easter, I would like to share a few words with you. Easter is a time of hope and renewal, a time to come together and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.Easter is not only a religious holiday, but also a time for families to come together and reflect on the values that unite us all. It is a time to remember the importance of love, compassion, and forgiveness. These values are at the heart of our society, and they guide us in our interactions with one another. As we reflect on the message of Easter, let us remember the sacrifices that were made for us. Jesus gave his life so that we may have eternal life. In his example, we find the strength to persevere in difficult times and to act with grace and humility. In these challenging times, let us take inspiration from the story of Easter. Just as Jesus overcame the ultimate adversity, we too can overcome the challenges that we face. Together, we can build a brighter and more prosperous future for our country and for the world. Our nation is facing many tests, from economic uncertainty to security challenges. But we have faced challenges before, and we have always emerged stronger. The spirit of resilience and determination that has defined our nation for centuries is alive and well today.I am proud to be the Prime Minister of a nation that is known for its values of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity. These values define who we are as a nation, and they are more important now than ever before. Let us continue to stand united against hatred and division, and let us work towards a future where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. As we celebrate Easter, let us also remember those who are less fortunate than us. Let us extend a helping hand to those in need and show our love and compassion tothem. Through small acts of kindness, we can make a difference in the lives of others. In conclusion, I want to wish all of you a happy Easter. May this holiday be a time of joy, reflection, and renewal. Let us come together as a nation and as a global community to build a brighter future for all.Thank you.。

英国首相卡梅伦新年英语演讲稿英国首相卡梅伦新年英语演讲稿精选2篇(一)Ladies and gentlemen,As we bid farewell to the year that has passed, and welcome the dawning of a new year, it is a time for reflection and renewal. It is a time to look back on the challenges we have overcome, and to set our sights on the opportunities that lie ahead. The past year has tested us in ways we never could have imagined. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a devastating toll on our society, our economy, and our way of life. It has pushed us to our limits and forced us to confront our vulnerability. But it has also shown us the strength and resilience of the British people. In the face of adversity, we have come together like never before. Our healthcare workers, our essential workers, and our community volunteers have been on the frontlines, fighting tirelessly to keep us safe and to provide for our needs. They are the heroes of this pandemic, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid.I want to take this moment to acknowledge the profound loss that many of us have experienced. The loss of loved ones, the loss of jobs, and the loss of the sense of security that we once took for granted. It is a pain that is shared by millions of people across our great nation. But even in our darkest moments, we have shown tremendous courage and resilience. As we embark on a new year, we must continue to stay united and steadfast in our resolve. We must continue to follow the guidance of our scientists and healthcare experts. We must continue to support one another, especially those who are most vulnerable. And we must continue to work together to rebuild our economy and create a brighter future for all.But let us not forget the lessons that this past year has taught us. Let us not forget the importance of gratitude, compassion, and community. Let us not forget the sacrifices that have been made and the lives that have been lost. And let us not forget the strength and spirit that has carried us through. In the coming year, let us make a promise to ourselves and to one another. Let us promise to cherish the moments that we have with our loved ones. Let us promise toappreciate the beauty of our natural surroundings. And let us promise to never take for granted the freedoms and opportunities that we enjoy.I am confident that together, we will overcome the challenges that still lie ahead. We have proven time and time again that when we come together, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome. So let us face the future with hope and determination. Let us make the year ahead a year of healing, a year of growth, and a year of renewal.Thank you, and may you all have a happy and prosperous new year.英国首相卡梅伦新年英语演讲稿精选2篇(二)Ladies and gentlemen,Firstly, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. As we stand here on the brink of 2023, it is a time for reflection and renewal. It is also a time to look ahead to what lies before us and to set our sights on a brighter future for our great nation.Over the past year, we have faced many challenges as a country. The COVID-19 pandemic has tested us in ways we never thought possible. But I am proud to say that we have faced these challenges head-on, with resilience and determination. Our scientists have developed vaccines at an unprecedented pace, our healthcare workers have shown unwavering dedication, and our citizens have come together to support one another in times of need. This is the true spirit of the United Kingdom. But we cannot rest on our laurels. There is still much work to be done. We must continue to fight against the virus, to protect our people and to rebuild our economy. We must invest in our healthcare system, in our education system, and in our infrastructure. We must ensure that no one is left behind as we recover from this crisis. Together, we can build a stronger, fairer society for all.2023 will also be a pivotal year for our country on the international stage. As we forge a new path outside of the European Union, we must seize the opportunities that lie before us. We will negotiate new trade agreements, strengthen our relationships with allies, and promote British values across the globe. We will be a force for good in the world, leading the way in tackling issues such as climate change, poverty, and inequality. This is our chance to show the world what the United Kingdom is made of.But as we look to the future, we must also remember our past. We must honor the countless men and women who have sacrificed so much to make our country what it is today. From the soldiers who have fought for our freedom, to the healthcareworkers who have cared for us, to the entrepreneurs who have driven our economy forward, we owe them a debt of gratitude. It is their legacy that we must carry forward into the future. So let us enter 2023 with optimism and determination. Let us come together as one nation, united in purpose and vision. Let us build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. I believe in the strength of the British people, and I know that together, we can achieve greatness.Thank you, and Happy New Year.。

We should be proud of the fact that in these islands we trust the people with these big decisions.

We not only have a parliamentarydemocracy, but on questions about the arrangements for how we are governed, there are times when it is right to ask the people themselves, and that is what we have done.

The British people have voted to leave the European Union and their will must be respected.

"For those reasons I aim to form a proper and full coalition between the Conservatives and the Biblioteka iberal Democrats.
"I believe that is the right way to provide this country with the strong, the stable, the good and decent government that I think we need so badly.
"Her Majesty the Queen has asked me to form a new government and I have accepted.
"I believe that is the best way to get the strong government that we need, decisive government that we need today.
"I came into politics because I love this country. I think its best days still lie ahead and I believe deeply in public service.
"But I believe it is also something else. It is about being honest about what government can achieve. Real change is not what government can do on its own - real change is when everyone pulls together, comes together, works together, where we all exercise our responsibilities to ourselves, to our families, to our communities and to others.

This year’s four hundredth anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare is not just an opportunity to commemorate1 one of thegreatest playwrights2 of all time. It is a moment to celebrate the extraordinary ongoing3 influence of a man who – to borrow from his own description of Julius Caesar –“doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus.”

Shakespeare’s legacy4 is without parallel: his works translated into over 100 languages and studied by half the world’s schoolchildren. As one of his conte mporaries, Ben Jonson, said: “Shakespeare is not of an age, but for all time.” He lives today in our language, our culture and society – and through his enduring influence on education.

Shakespeare played a critical role in shaping modern Englishand helping5to make it the world’s language. The first major dictionary compiled by Samuel Johnson drew on Shakespeare more than any other writer. Three thousand new words and phrases all first appeared in print in Shakespeare’s plays. I remember from my own childhood how many of them are found for the first time in Henry V. Words likedishearten, divest6, addiction7, motionless, leapfrog – and phrases like “once more unto the breach”, “band of brothers” and “heart of gold” – have all passed into our language today with no need to reference their original context. Shakespeare also pioneered innovative8 use of grammatical form and structure – including verse without rhymes, superlatives and the connecting of existing words to make new words, like bloodstained – while the pre-eminence of his plays also did much to standardise spelling and grammar.

历史剧《亨利五世》中不少第一次出现的词,如dishearten、divest、addiction、motionless和leapfrog,以及短语,如once more unto the breach、band of brothers 和heart of gold,都沿用至今,成了耳熟能详的词汇。

But Shakespeare’s influence is felt far beyond our language. His words, his plots and his characters continue to inspire much of our culture and wider society. Nelson Mandela, while a prisoner on Robben Island, cherished a quote from Julius Caesar which said “Cowards die many times before their death, the valiant9never taste of death but once.” While Kate Tempest’s poem “My Shakespeare” captures the eternal presence of Shakespeare when she wrote that Shakespeare “…is in every lover who ever stood alone beneath a window…every jealous whispered word and every ghost that will not rest.” Shakespeare’s influence is everywhere, from Dickens and Goethe to Tchaikovsky, Verdi and Brahms; from West Side Story to the Hamlet-inspired title of Agath a Christie’s “The Mousetrap” – the longest-running theatre production in London’s West End today. While his original plays continue to entertain millions – from school halls across the world to the overnight queues as hundreds scrambled10 for last minute tickets to see Benedict Cumberbatch playing Hamlet at London’s Barbican last year.

But perhaps one of the most exciting legacies11 of Shakespeare is his capacity to educate. As we see from the outreach work of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Glob e and the impact of pioneering British charities like the Shakespeare Schools Festival, studying and performing Shakespeare can help improve literacy, confidence and widereducational attainment12.

Every day throughout 2016, Britain is inviting13 you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of William Shakespeare. On 5 January, Twelfth Night, we launched “Shakespeare Lives” – an exciting global programme of activity and events to highlight his enduring influence and extend the use of Shakespeare as an educational resource to advance literacy around the world.2016年,英国邀您一起了解莎翁生平,欣赏莎翁名作。
