一、教材分析：
1. 教材的地位与作用：
本课是新目标英语八年级上册第八单元，其教材是以“How do you make
a banana milk shake ?”为中心话题，在听说课的基础上培养学生的阅读能力，为下节课的写作做铺垫。本部分呈现了与感恩节相关的词汇，让学生通过听、说、读、写活动，进一步巩固食物制作过程的表达，并了解与美国感恩节有关的文化背景和风俗习惯，同时通过思维导图来帮助清理、记忆阅读语篇中的相关信息，并引导学生能够运用思维导图用英语正确表达中国的传统节日和食品名称及制作方法。这些都是与我们的实际密切相关的话题，能够轻松地激起学生学习英语的兴趣，师生、生生之间的交流也培养了学生的合作精神，促进了学生，教师的情谊，从而对学生英语学习水平的提高会有很大的促进。

（3）.阅读短文，获得相关信息，完成阅读任务，提高综合阅读能力
难点：学会运用所学知识（表示顺序的副词及食品制作的相关动词、以及祈使句）和思维导图来正确表达中国的传统节日、食品名称及制作方法。
二、学情分析：
学生进入八年级后，有一定的英语基础和语言学习能力，语言感知能力较强，学习积极性高。通过本单元前几课时的学习及课前有关“感恩节”微课的利用，学生对本节课的话题已有一定的知识储备。有了一定的英语基础知识和听说能力，正逐步向读写过渡。同时也又有了初步自主，合作探究能力。
