1939, Guido who is a Jew comes into Arezzo, Italy with his friend. In the town , he meets a school teacher named Dora who he calls Princess.
• Life is not always what we want it to be. We fight. We cry. And sometimes, we give up. But in our hearts, we know it's still full of love. So always remember ，life is beautiful.
They get married and have a son .
The family lives a happy life with love and laughter until one fateful day.
The Germans arrest Guido and his son because they are Jewish.
They try to escape. After hiding his son in a roadside box , he begins to look for his wife.
Unluckily , he is discovered , but he still walk happily to show that the game continues. Then he is killed in a corner where his son can’t see.

In order to make his son believe that the predicament is just a game which his family is participating in, he tells his son the first prize is a real tank. Every day even though he is weak and tired, he keeps a cheery face in front of his son to show that he will never give up in this game.
He falls in love with her at first sight. With his wits and his imagination，he wins the love of Dora who has been engaged to an official and whisks her away in her wedding party.

This is what I learned from the movie, Life is Beautiful.This story was adapted from Benigni's father's own experience. In the first half, we can laugh the loudest and delight at the comedy talent of Benigni. It tells us how a Jewish man has a wonderful romance with the help of his humour. Then the optimistic man, Guido, chased Dora strenuously and they had a cute little boy, Joshua. The film then delves into a very touchy area in which Guido and his family are transported to a concentration camp. Guido tries to effectively convince his son by using that same quality to protect his son that their entire imprisonment is part of a huge game in which participants must collect points to win a tank. Meanwhile, he seized every opportunity to let Dora know they were safe, like using the amplifier to talk to her. Finally, Guido was killed by Nazi soldiers while Dora and Joshua were rescued by American troops.The most impressive part for me is when Benigni knows that Nazi is on the road to ruin. In the chaos, he tells his son to stay in a box until everybody has left and tries to save his wife. Unfortunately, he is caught by a Nazi soldier. When he passes by the box, he still makes funny gestures to indicate Joshua to stay in the box and continue the game.I have been wondering about the movie's name, Life is beautiful. I think this story is a tragicomedy. Guido as well as a great number of people died in the concentration camp, which makes audience feel really pathetic; his wife and son survived, which could be viewed as a miracle. Under father and mother's careful protection, Joshua was so lucky. Although the historical setting is dark, we do not feel that depressed about it. It is an unforgettable fable that proves love, family and imagination conquer all.。

Life is Beautiful FeedbackThe movie Life is Beautiful is the only movie that I watched two times. That’s not because the movie itself but the design of the plot. Not surprisingly since the Holocaust is a dark chapter in our history. It's painful to watch them. Life is Beautiful is easier to watch , because it's not dark, but it still succeeds in telling the story about the wars.Life is Beautiful helps in bringing the audiences to a state of mind away from reality, focusing on the feelings generated by forgetting about all boring events and developments of the war. Despite that, the movie does not fail to point out an element of the nazi psychology demonstrated by the doctor who was obsessed with riddles. This portrayed the nazi's state of mind' (if ever such an expression existed) as a sick mentally disturbed state. Life is really beautiful as you watch Guido's relentless efforts to make a lovely exciting experience of the concentration camp to his son. You get exhausted just watching him going through his painful day and yet you smile as he speaks to his son and makes him laugh. When I see these I shed tears every time.This is one of those movies that have a lasting effect on you. After watching it, I found that it has less to do with the Holocaust and more to do with the human feelings and the beautiful relationship of a father and his son. The holocaust provides the ultimate context, that brings and highlights the story and adds yet another deep dimension to the movie. No such piece of art has ever before combined laughter and tears of sadness in me before and that is the miracle of the movie.After the movie I thought of my parents, if they encountered this kind of situation, what will they do? The View of La Vita E BelleLa Vita E Belle also called Life Is Beautiful, is an Italian movie ran in 1997 which tells a story about how Guido—the hero of the film—applies his rich imagination to help his family during their internment in a Nazi concentration camp. The movie is set in the background of World War II and divided into two parts. The first half of it is like a pleasant and romantic story about how Guido meets Dora—a local teacher—and pursues her in a funny but intelligent way. And Dora finally resists her parents and runs away with Guido on a green-painted horse at her engagement party. They marry and have a very naughty but cute son named Giosuè. However, good times don’t last long. In the second half of the movie, Guido and Giosuè are caught by Nazi on Giosuè’s 5th birthday as Jewish and are about to be sent to the concentration camp. But Dora, who could have escaped from the tragedy, chooses to go with them. But she is locked away from the father and the son. In order to protect Giosuè and relieve his pain in the concentration camp, Guido tells his son that they are playing a game and the winner will get a real tank as a prize and act as if he is trying hard to win points. Giosuèbelieves his dad and behave quite well. Meanwhile, Guido also tries to tell Dora that they are safe in different ways. Finally, in the chaos caused by the American advance, he tells his son to stay in a box until everybody has left, this being the final test before the tank is his. Guido goes off to look for Dora but is caught and shot to death off camera, by a Nazi soldier.I’m impressed by this film as I never imaged that such a tragedy could expressed by a comedy,but the love that Guido expressed to his son touched me more.I think thetheme of this film wanted to show is love.At first,the film tells us a romantic history about Guido and Dora to express the love’s meaning.When Guido encounters Dora,he says that “good morning,princess”and shows his talent to her in by all means to express his love.And when Guido and Giosuè were caught by Nazi,Dora decided to go with him.That’s the power of love.Secondly,the film delves into a very touchy area in which Guido and his family are transported to a concentration camp.As soon as Guido and Giosuèare put into the dormitory in the concentration camp, Guido convinces his son that they are in a game and they need to earn 1000 points to get the big prize. He tells him that if he cries, complains that he wants his mother, or says that he is hungry, he will lose points, while quiet boys who hide from the camp guards earn points. When the Nazi officer comes to announce the rules they should obey, Guido voluntarily becomes the interpreter and tells the rules of the “game”to his son, although he doesn’t know German at all. When Giosuèdecides to give up and go home, Guido pretends to be very regretful because they get most points and they quit. As a little boy who wants to get the tank, Giosuèchanges his idea and prefers to continue the game. When Giosuèis mistaken as a German and arranged to have meal with other German kids, Guido tells him to keep silent. However, Giosuèstill says “thank you’’ when a waiter gives him a dish. When they walk pass the box where Giosuèhides, Guido walks awkwardly and pretends to be happy. At that moment, Giosuèis laughing, but my tears well up in my eyes. We can say that even in the last moment of his life, Guido still makes his son believe that they are in a game. He really loves Giosuèvery much and does everything he can to protect him.This is one of those movies that have a lasting effect on me. After watching it, I found that it has less to do with the Holocaust and more to do with the human feelings and the beautiful relationship of a father and his son.I think father’s love is the greatest love in the world after watching this film.Even never sayed “I love you”,father still love you in a practical action.Besides,I also learned many things from this film.Firstly, Guido taught me that we should keep an optimistic attitude.
