本课的内容是人教PEP小学英语六年级下册Unit4 Then and now B部分的Let’s talk。本课通过Mike和John过去和现在的变化，从外貌的变化到能力的提升，让学生感受到时间的流逝和成长的力量。一、利用游戏“Catch the words”进行导入，复习旧知识，引入新知识。为了激发学生的学习兴趣，我向学生展示了自己现在和小时候的照片。通过自己过去和现在包括外貌，性格及能力的变化，让学生初步感知本课重点句型Before...Now...的用法。为了不影响对话教学的整体性，我将本课的两个生词different和active放到课前解决。利用丰富的面部表情和肢体语言让学生理解他们的含义及用法。同时教育学生做一个乐观，积极向上的人。我能感受到，在这一环节，学生对本课的内容产生了强烈的好奇心和浓厚的学习兴趣。二、创设情境，利用听来初步感知文本内容，再进入文本，默读课文回答问题。接下来进行必要的机械操练，它不但能够帮助学生掌握重点句型，而且能为接下来的文本的输出打好基础。在新授的展示环节我面对全体学生，注重个体差异，分别设置了一星任务和二星任务，让学生根据自身能力选择任务。
