1. Great changes in my hometown
Great changes have taken place in my hometown. In the past, the living
conditions were poor. The roads were narrow and there weren’t many ring roads. Usually a
big family was crowded into a small, dark house. Most families couldn’t get enough food
and few children had the chance to receive a good education. People kept in touch with
their friends and relatives far away mainly by letter or telegram.
But now, my hometown has developed rapidly. More and more ring roads have
appeared and people’s living conditions have improved a lot. Buildings in my hometown
are becoming taller and brighter. And there are more kinds of food and clothes to choose
from. Children can study not only in modern schools but also on the internet. What’s more,
communications are becoming easier and quicker.
Thanks to the government’s efforts, my hometown is becoming better and better .
2. The population problem (The population of China)
As we know, China has the largest population in the world. Because of the large
population, there is less living space for each family. It’s difficult for lots of people to find
jobs. We are short of energy and water. Most cities are more crowded than before, and the
traffic is much heavier.
So far our government has taken many measures to control the population. One is
known as the one-child policy. (It has worked well in controlling China’s population.)
Thanks to the policy, China is developing quickly. However, the population problem is still
serious. We still have a long way to go.
3 Trees are very important
As we know, trees are very important for us.They can stop the wind from blowing the
earth away. And a lot of water can be saved by forests. They can also prevent the water
from washing the earth away. (They can clean the air and make our country more beautiful.)
But people have cut down millions of trees. More and more forests have gone. The
farmland have changed into desert. Sandstorms have come into being. (Our lining
conditions is getting worse and worse.) So we should do something to protect trees. We
ought to try our best to plant trees every year and stop anyone from cutting down trees.
2 4. How to be a greener person ?
As we know ,environment is important for us. Do you know how to be a
greener person, here are some advice:
First, we should reduce the waste. we ought to turn off the lights when
you leave a room. take a cloth bag when we go shopping. Don’t use plastic
bags. we’d better walk or ride a bike instead of taking a bus or a taxi if we’re
traveling a short distance. Second we should use both sides of paper and
reuse plastic bags. Third, we should recycle the waste.We should encourage
people to collect waste paper and soft drink cans. Last,we shouldn’t leave
rubbish here and there. Don’t spit anywhere in public. Don’t walk on the
grass or pick flowers and so on.
In a word, we have only one earth, so we should do everything we can to
protect it , then our world will be better and better day by day.
3 5 How to study English well ?
As we know, English is the most widely used in the world. It’s important for us .Do
you know how to study English well ? Here are some advice:
First, do more listening. we should watch English programs on TV and listen to
English radio and sing English songs after class. Second, do more speaking. we should
join the English club and speak English as often as possible. Third, do more reading. we
should read English books, newspapers often. Last, do more writing. we should keep a
diary in English.
In short, we should keep on trying and never give up. If you follow these above, I think
